  1. Thanks, all. Subbing in Allen and accepting.
  2. I have excess depth at RB and the other owner has excess depth at WR. I receive: Mike Wallace (or Keenan Allen if I preferred) and Darren McFadden (I have MJD so I'd lock up that mundane backfield) I send: Golden Tate and Ahmad Bradshaw (currently on my bench)
  3. I haven't been able to catch many of their games the past few years, so maybe I'm missing it. Or maybe I'm biased. But, to me, Cutler, Rodgers, Brady, etc. all complain at an even level. If you haven't been able to catch many games the past few years how could you possibly have an opinion on that? Because I watched most of his games the previous 12 years?

  5. So is Rodgers. On that drive he's jaw boning with the refs on a holding call he never saw because he was running the other way. He's nearly on Rivers' level and never ever gets called on it. They're both awesome and Cutler does the same stuff and there's nothing wrong with it. Seriously. Every QB in the league whines to the officials about calls. It's like college basketball coaches. And Rivers is still claiming a reputation he earned probably 10 years ago when he jawed with Cutler and gave a few Colts fans a hard time. It was deserving at the time. Given he's done nothing that immature since (to my knowledge), I think it's OK to move on.
  6. He's been injured. Ah. Haven't kept up much over the last week or so. That sucks for him. Thanks.
  7. Yeah, but LLF framed it in terms of guys still in the minors.
  8. Bryant Russell Schwarber Tseng Edwards McKinney Torres Johnson Almora Underwood
  9. I woke up in such a [expletive] wonderful mood today because the first thought in my mind was the game last night.
  10. I started reading this (NSBB) thread after watching the game. When I came to this post I read the entire gateway thread. I think I enjoyed it as much as this thread. All the posters essentially came to their knees and acknowledged the Cubs future awesomeness after Soler's ungodly second dong.
  11. and another likely top 10 pick in june ahahahaha who are you kidding? Only 3 games out of picking 11th Lester. There is already a lot of smoke out there surrounding a potential deal. You're going to have to overpay for a FA pitcher anyway, and if the Cubs end up with an unprotected pick, then I could see them extending farther for him. The value of the pick would supersede the few extra million per year for Lester being a "non-compensation" signing.
  12. [expletive] stung the hell out of that thing.
  13. http://replygif.net/i/376.gif And now two people have stopped by my office to ask what is so funny...
  14. Wow, Kaplan is such an asshat: That's incredibly insensitive and callous. WTF. I hope this doesn't get unnoticed, overall.
  15. I'm not caring what kind of results Turner has this year at all. They're not going to change much with him before the offseason anyway. I'm catching up on the game thread tonight, so apologies if this has since been repeated or talked about. But, I earmarked this post as I'm moving through to say the exact same thing. It's not like "Bosio's magic" is a kickass pregame speech. It's working with a pitcher to find flaws. More often than not, that's going to take time. Also, aforementioned was that Arrieta didn't set the world on fire with the Cubs directly after him being traded from Baltimore. IIRC, it was in part his posture/positioning of weight when he delivered a pitch coupled with the cutter, of course. Turner hasn't only pedigree, but also peripherals that most would agree can likely be a back of the rotation starter. With some bosio/arrietta-type magic, he's got TOR potential.
  16. So yahoo! sends me an email grading my draft (well, their friends at "automated insights"). They said I did a pretty shitty job and gave me a C-. Then they urged me to click on the "full report card". That was a mistake. They continued to tell me how, if I won the league, I'd be "coach of the year", etc. etc. etc. Then proceeded to say they expected me to go 1-13 on the year. Ouch. I have to wonder how much me not drafting a defense at all factored into this "report card". That being said, it wouldn't surprise me if this team was not anything special. But, I *think* there is enough talent there to surprise and contend if I catch a few breaks.
  17. I really want him to be part of the big league staff next year. I have no idea how feasible that is - or if he'd be the hitting coach/bench coach/whatever - but it'd be nice.
  18. he should wear 00
  19. I thought I read somewhere that his thumb was in a splint a couple days ago? Maybe just a jammed thumb?
  20. Wasn't that for Castro? Ack. You're right. I'm an idiot. I haven't heard - maybe Szcur is sent along with Watkins until September?
  21. Logan Watkins sent down
  22. Anybody have any deep sleepers they'd like to share that would be available in most league's FA?
