  1. my sides are literally splitting
  2. tsk tsk tsk, come now, you know better than that. In 700 plus posts its easy to misconstrue the meaning behind Bruce saying that Hendry wouldnt even trade Hill for Dunn straight up, not that the offer was ever on the table, but to be representative of the fact that the cubs place such a high value on Hill and low on Dunn. Just because its ZZ and theres a history doesn't make it right to ridicule him. Please, I don't know you from Adam, but if you were doing the same thing, I'd call you on it too. Maybe I'm the only one that has a problem with people making false statements based on something that they were too lazy too read and comprehend?
  3. I didn't call him dense. I asked him if he was being dense. If I was misconstruing what someone wrote or said, and I did it multiple times, I would hope someone would point it out.
  4. he's doing good in the series now, are you going to update it? Of course not, why let a series worth of stats outweigh one game? Or a career's for that matter.
  5. All these attempts at character assassination... tsk tsk. I'm not starting any rumors - I just posted the facts. There's the Miles info and the McCoy info and they conflict. It'll all come out in the wash.... The Reds radio broadcast and Miles gave the same info, and that still is not enough? Columbus and ZZ give differing accounts. If I've kept it straight, Columbus on TV heard Hendry talk with Brenneman with Hendry saying the price was too steep for the Cubs. ZZ heard on the radio the converse, saying the price was too steep for the Reds. I think I've followed that, basically a bunch of misinformation and he said she said, nothing out of the ordinary given baseball trade talk near the deadline, especially with Hendry. Columbus heard it on the radio along with his wife and was sure that they said the Cubs said the price was too steep. This is lock step with what Bruce Miles said. I don't see where the differnce is? ? Both said there's no deal, which we can all agree on, but one said it was no deal for Hill, one said no deal for Hill, CP and Mitre. Big difference. It'll all come out in the wash. As stated, Hendry does a good job watching his back as he should to try and wrest the best deal. If he can get us Dunn and give up CP, Mitre and not Hill I'd be amazed and hope he can. It's been fun - I have a half-read Mad Magazine to attend to and a busy afternoon planned. This thread will live another day - and that surprises me. Go Cubs! Ok, maybe I'm just not following what you're saying, but Miles said that the deal, as mentioned, CP, Hill, Mitre, for Dunn, was not even offered. He said the Cubs wouldnt trade Hill for Dunn, let alone all three dudes. Are you really dense or can I just not read correctly? Cause it sounds like you think Miles said that Hendry declined a Hill for Dunn trade.
  6. its his knee that hurts? probably from being a titanic lard-ass. Im surprised his arm didnt just fall off.
  7. Yeah I saved it. That one is too good to let disappear.
  8. Sometimes the mods are privy to info the rest of us are not. In this case, I think they made the right call. It's funny, you don't act the same way with Dusty. No doubt he is privvy to info you are not yet you have no problem criticizing him. What does that have to do with this thread? And I'm sure Dusty gets laid more than me too, huh? Yeah dude, remember this one?
  9. Bruce Miles, who is the only one we've mentioned in this thread that talkes to Jim Hendry (including that old fart Reds announcer) said that this "deal" was made up. What else is there to say? I mean, obviously ZZ is going to go against the flow, because that's how he gets his kicks, but for the rest of us, I'd think Miles info should be enough.
  10. Im pretty sure that these mods wouldnt ban him without reason. Im sure he made a post somewhere that outed himself, and it was deleted, and he was shoewhipped.
  11. I'm not a virgin...I'm a gentleman! (blankman reference) I got it.
  12. I hate this organization sometimes. Wouldnt trade Hill for Dunn, straight up? Kill me.
  13. Ugh, man people are stupid.
  14. It shoudl be out within 20 minutes. Hahha, you are getting excited about nothing.
  15. That is confusing as hell. 2 catchers, no second baseman...nm, i have no idea where youre going with this.
  16. I like Juan Pierre. I like to watch him play, as long as he's playing for another team.
  17. Wow, fans from another team trolling their own thread has to be some sort of record.
  18. You must not have been here when we were waiting for Prior's MRI results last year.
  19. he does it on purpose, you dont want your 8 hitter taking a bunch of walks for the pitcher to make the last out in the inning. Thats exactly why I want him there, hes a smart enough hitter to realize that you need to take a different approach based on where you hit...just look at his stats last year hitting second. He took more walks, but it affected his batting average. I think Barrett is a great 8 hitter...especially with the rest of that lineup. I dont want Barrett making the last out, thats dumb. You dont want the pitcher batting leadoff. You want to know what is dumb? Squandering scoring chances with men on base by letting the pitcher hit, rather than a guy with a 280 average. What are you talking about? It's ridiculous to want your 8 hitter to swing at bad pitches, just so your pitcher doesnt come up with men on base. Are you serious? Not only are you blowing your chance at scoring runs in that particular inning, youre handicapping yourself into having only 2 outs to play with in the next inning.
