  1. That's a dubious statement ... but I'll grant you that the fans' attitude/atmosphere at Wrigley had a big hand in dealing us the events of Game 6. You would be correct. I should know. I was there. The studies that have shown that mass consciousness can affect the outcome of events are well-documented. It was something like a group of patients at a hospital were prayed for and group wasn't. The results were surprising, IIRC. Wasn't there another study recently done on patients who were prayed for, meditated for, some combination of the two, or neither that concluded prayer and meditation did nothing for them? I can't imagine that anyone actually believes that mass conciousness has an effect on something like the outcome of a baseball game, that's just ridiculous. Thanks for your 2 cents. When you educate yourself, the ridiculous can transform into the sublime. By all means then, please continue fooling yourself into believing nonsense.

  3. im really starting to hate this rodriguez guy
  4. I was telling Treeman the other day how much I hate Novoa. The List 1. Big, stupid head. 2. Too many walks. 3. Always has a half grin/smirk thing, I can't tell if he's carefree or if he has palsy 4. My friend always calls me to complain about the Cubs, and he can't say "Novoa". It always comes out "Novia" with I'm pretty sure means "little girl" in spanish.
  5. daddy took my tbird away
  6. Anybody calling 30HR for Harvey?
  7. I asked because I always type it "overpayed", and then i say "wait, thats not right" and i fix it.
  8. Is it overpayed or overpaid?
  9. So Kenny Rogers and John Patterson are number one starters? I'm not saying that Wood is a number one starter. He definitely has the stuff to be one, that's for sure. But by your standard, Prior, Zambrano, Santana, Peavy, arent number one starters.
  10. I think it's probably a perception thing. They havent exactly been healthy and logging a lot of innings since 2004.
  11. If we had a hole at second base, i'd love to have him. I think a lot of people undervalue him because of his low OBP. He had the highest VORP last year among second basemen.
  12. I've said it before I guess. I really like Pierre, but I'm not sure I'd love him playing for the Cubs. I'd do Hairston and Koronka or something, a mid level pitching prospect, but there's no way the Fish would do that.
  13. Hey, it would be nice if you guys would, you know, look at statistics and stuff before spouting off an opinion. Before Wood went on the DL last season 45.2IP 28H 3HR 13BB 50K After coming off the DL this season, and before yesterday 25.2IP 16H 4HR 6BB 24K That looks like a whole bunch of good starts while he was healthy. Now I agree that it sucks that he can't stay healthy, and that he needs to do something about his health issues, but the amount of uninformed opinions in this thread alone is staggering.
  14. I didn't call him dense. I asked him if he was being dense. If I was misconstruing what someone wrote or said, and I did it multiple times, I would hope someone would point it out. I did so on the previous page without using demeaning adjectives... Can't we all just get along? Good job, I guess.
  15. Frank isn't any better than Dusty in that regard, maybe worse. And winner of Livan's most pitches per appearance, drum roll please....1998 on the Marlins, followed closely by 1999 for the half season he was on the Marlins. Actually Dusty used him the least! That has a lot to do with how bad he was in san fran. He only had one season there with an ERA+ above 100. The other two years, his ERA+ was 77 and 87. Actually I take this back, because he did throw a ton of innings, even when he was awful.
  16. I didn't call him dense. I asked him if he was being dense. If I was misconstruing what someone wrote or said, and I did it multiple times, I would hope someone would point it out. touche`! I guess I fell victim of misconstruing what you said in regards to the dense statement. But, me thinks it's gonna cause tempers to flare in Gary, IN. I doubt he'll care, I wasn't even trying to be a jerk, I was just trying to point out that he didn't know what he was talking about.
  17. I think "tightness" is just a nice way of saying "flesh-eating bacteria".
