  1. I would only replace Jones with Giles if the Padres eat an extensive amount of that contract, otherwise I don't think the cost is justified. I'd look elsewhere to upgrade, because, honestly, if we don't severely upgrade ouor offense elsewhere, it won't matter who is playing RF.
  2. I want no part of Soriano for 5 years. I want so little part of him that it's almost like I want negative part of him. I want less than a part of him.
  3. 2006 C - Barrett 1B - Lee/Mabry/Walker 2B - Walker/Theriot SS - Izturis/Cedeno 3B - ARamis LF - Murton CF - Pierre RF - Jones 2007 C- Barrett 1B - Lee (v.2005 hopefully) 2B - Theriot SS - Izturiz/Cedeno 3B - Aramis LF - Murton CF - TBA RF - Jones Yeah, he's perfect so far, but the only changes in the lineup that was decidedly awful are Murton hopefully adding some more power and a few hundred more at bats for Lee, which, say he surprises everyone and bounces back to 2005 form, will be good for what? 6 more wins? Theriot is no lock to best Walker's numbers, Izturis isn't likely to improve enough to be useful offensively. Jones will likely decline and who knows what we'll have in CF. Bottom line, Hendry has done well so far, but he has a long, long way to go to redeem himself. In the words of Winston Wolf, let's not start sucking each other's.....well, you know.
  4. OU's women's team begins their march to the first of their back-to-back-to-back national championships today versus a good depaul team.
  5. Yeah, OK is, to me, the scariest team not being talked about. They're a legitimately very good team that should be talked about with the rest of the one-loss teams. Even better is that there are people in the program saying that AD is 50% for the Baylor game next week, and 100% for the OSU game to end the year. At the least, he should be here for the Bowl Game, wherever it is, and for the Big XII championship, should A&M pull off the unlikely upset next week.
  6. Man, that Oregon "loss" is killing us. We just cannot move up at all.
  7. This is something that Cuse said in last weeks thread, but i wanted to bring the discussion over here. This is one of my main problems with the polling system. Earlier in the season, Florida's wins over Auburn, Tennessee and LSU looked really, impressive (not that they still arent quality wins, just some of the shine has been taken off.) Anyway, those wins look great, so Florida is highly ranked. Now, those teams lose a few more games, and the wins don't look as good. But what can you do if Florida doesn't lose? Florida's ranking is based on the strength of those wins, and they won't fall in the rankings unless they lose, no matter if Auburn, Tennessee and LSU lose every remaining game. Now, I'm not singling out Florida here, just using them as an example.
  8. Be still my beating heart. If Texas loses tonight, and McCoy is out next week, dare I say, possible loss against Texas A&M? Certainly more possible, anyway. Suddenly, if OU beats Baylor and OSU, we are looking at a chance at a Big XII championship game and a possible BCS berth.
  9. Edmonds is done. I'm surprised he can spell his own name anymore. This deal may not hurt them so bad this upcoming season, but in 2008, he will be a nine million dollar bench player.
  10. I think the Big East has more quantity at the top, but the Big XII is probably stronger all the way down. Looking at it like that, though, really makes it a toss-up. Do you want three really good teams or one really good team and a lot of good to above average ones? I think that discussion could go either way. Also, Thompson, up until a few weeks ago, had been better than Bomar was last season. Now that AD is out, though, teams are no longer loading up on the run, and he has been unable to pass. Of course, Patrick is running wild, so you win some, you lose some. Fake Edit Nebraska player drops an F-bomb on the air.
  11. i thought he had 3/33 left on his deal? im assuming he'll want something like 5/65
  12. i read this as gaylord perry will be the cubs new hitting coach, and i was like "why?"

    Week 9

its almost 5am and i predict that you lose by a million
  16. yep, it's sorta like the Illini team with Head, Williams and Brown. They can shoot 3's all night and midrange jumpers, but have no one to score inside consistently. if one or more of your outside guys get in foul trouble, suddenly the scoring options dry up Except Duhon isn't as good as any of those three guys. Last year he was. Duhon 12.95 PER Head 11.24 PER Williams 12.42 PER Hinrich 15.56 PER What is this Per? Ask either Utah or Houston if they would trade their guys for Duhon. It must be nice to just throw a stat out that you don't identify. Also take into consideration Williams was 21 last year and Duhon was 24. By the way Williams led his team tonight to a vistory over Nash's Suns. The Phoenix announcers praised Deron all night. You never said that he wasn't as good as Williams, age relative. The fact is that last season, Duhon was as good or better than Williams. Now, would the Bulls do a trade, straight up for the two? Sure.
  17. I really think that 30 million is what it will take, and it will come down to us and the Yankees.
  18. how in the hell does it prove that?
  19. i joined.
  20. yeah, well maybe ben watson will catch 8 td's you bitch

  23. at this point, if bonds can take us to the playoffs, he can burn an american flag while doing it for all i care.
  24. if, after looking at those stats, you can't tell that he's really good at baseball, then you dont understand baseball.
  25. Fears confirmed. No AD = no passing IMB, what's your take on Mangino? I was indifferent to him while he was here. He was decent as an offensive coordinator, but I dont think I would want him to run a program.
