  1. Keith Law just compared Hendricks to Zach Duke in his chat. Thinks he is going to be solved rather quickly.
  2. Don't get it. Refuse to try to get it until that person can get a better grasp of the English language. LOLOL. It's a parody account. That's the entire point.
  3. Would it beat a team of players the Bulls were favorites to land? Nobody could beat the Bulls FA 2nd place finishes. They are the dream team of FA 2nd place finishes. PG: LeBron James SG: Kobe Bryant SF: Carmelo Anthony PF: Kevin Garnett C: Chris Bosh BN: Dwyane Wade, Kevin Love, younger Pau Gasol Not to turn this into a discussion about the NBA but Kobe and KG were never favorites to land here as free agents. Kobe was rumored via trade and KG publicly said he didn't want to go to the bulls so he was never favored to come here. Lebron and Bosh were rumored to come here as a duo in 2010 but Wade was assumed to stay in Miami even despite his visits to Chicago. Love was rumored via trade but Cleveland was always the favorite because of Wiggins. Bulls didn't miss out on Gasol, they just didn't give up what was wanted via trade. Sorry I just get annoyed when people make believe this world where the bulls somehow had these star players within their grasp. You are forgetting the Benny the Bull greeting Tracy McGrady and Tim Duncan at O'Hare in the early 2000s debacle.
  4. Fair enough, but we also got McKinney (for Hammel, let's say) and Straily. Also, I like Samardzija, but Hamels is only 13 months older and is not quite the pitcher Hamels is. Also, 4/96 remaining for Hamels is less of an overall financial commitment than Samardzija will likely get (or was at least asking for). If the Cubs somehow would end up with 4 years of Hamels, Straily, and McKinney for 14 months of Samardzija and 2 months of Hammel, that's pretty good. Maybe not as good as Russell, Straily, and McKinney, but could fit a need enough to cover the difference.
  5. I do too, but admit that I'm too attached to prospects right now to objectively evaluate value here. We've waited sooo long that I almost feel like not seeing some of these guys in a Cubs uniform would be disappointing. That's why I'm irrationally OK with including Addison Russell in a deal for him--I feel much less invested in him than I am in Javy, Bryant, Almora, Soler, etc.. [expletive] it, I'd take Cliff Lee's dead arm and money, too, if that's what we need to do, it's just money. Are you saying you'd trade Russell for him AND take on Lee's contract? http://www.gifsforum.com/images/gif/no%20no%20no/grand/arrested-development.gif If we're taking Lee's contract then they get Vogelbach. That's it. I'm not necessarily saying I'd do both together, but am open to both suggestions.

  7. Nailed it. Genesis>>>>>SNES
  8. Tony Dungy, perhaps one of the greatest beneficiaries of the Rooney Rule in the history of the NFL, said he wouldn't have picked Michael Sam because of the distractions and that "things will happen" in the locker room. Oh, he also helped Michael Vick repair his image after being in prison for dogfighting. Keep using religion as a front to protect your homophobia, Tony. Rumor has it his son who committed suicide did it because he was gay. So there's that.
  9. What about a Tony Philips comp? When he was strictly 2B, I was thinking Ray Durham with less power.
  10. Look, I know Lance Stephenson might be a psycho, but given the Bulls current strengths (frontcourt depth) and weaknesses (almost no good wings/perimiter defenders outside of Butler), wouldn't he have been a better use of money than Pau Gasol?
  11. That same day, ND is playing @Texas and UCLA is @Texas A&M. Unbelievable group of matchups. Wonder if Gameday will try and do something where the hosts/analysts go to all of the stadiums (morning in 1 place, mid-afternoon another, and then pre/post from another). That would be bad-ass.
  12. Yeah, Baez has had a "terrible season" and is basically even with him in OPS. I understand, speed and defense, etc, but come on.
  13. It does, maybe try and move Randolph or Dunleavy to clear up room to add a backup or trade for one? Or they have faith in Thibs picking someone off the scrap heap that can help like he's done with Watson, Nate, and Augustin the past 3 years.
  14. Hahahaha. Talk about stealing money. Good tanking strategy, though.
  15. OMG, I didn't realize that he put himself in at SS and booted that ball. That WAS a terrible move. My bad. Go ahead with the excess hatred.
  16. This whole thread has been about the "East is over". And I responded to a post that mentioned 3 eastern teams also. If the bulls got melo would you even favor the Cavs? I would not. That's a near 50 win team adding melo rose and Mirotic. If they get Melo, do they have salary room for Mirotic? Seems like from what I've read it'll be tough. I don't know. Take him away and they are still better than the Cavs with a melo Signing. Bulls CAN get Melo and Mirotic (Mid Level Exception) and keep Gibson, but it would require multi-team sign and trade deal and a lot of moving parts, but not unrealistic.
  17. Nailed it Meh. I hated Dusty, but I'm over it. He won 6 playoff games with the Cubs--more than the rest of the managers since 1945 COMBINED. And, let's be honest, Wood and Prior probably get hurt with or without his pushing, especially Wood who was hurt before and hurt after. Besides facing Mike Lowell over Lenny Harris, not visiting Prior on the mound, and forcing LaTroy Hawkins to close (which was a Hendry failure as much as Dusty), he really wasn't that bad. ABSURD Dusty never won a game. Hendry put together a pretty good ballclub and handed the keys to the worst possible manager. It was a disaster that was bound to happen. Do you also hate Lou Piniella?

  19. Dear god do this garpax. Since we don't have enough money for melo by himself much less wade who will be offered a max by miami. I mean, there is a LITTLE part of me that is intrigued to see if Wade has 1 or 2 more "F You LeBron" seasons in him that could come in handy for the Bulls. The other 90% wants to see him ride it out on a series of awful Heat teams.
  20. i remember him hitting a home run against the sox Game winning HR in a rain shortened game. It was awesome. Hundley also had a 2HR game vs. the Sox, but he HAS to be the most hated Cub ever, right?
  21. Finally - let's get to work. Rooftops can eat a fat diiiiick
  22. Mark Gonzalez says he stays and Hendricks goes as Cubs don't need fifth starter until after break!
  23. Sosa. Hands down. If Wood never got hurt, that would have been nice...
  24. Knows they won't hit 100% on the prospects Al Contra to CF on a more regular basis Ability for Baez, Castro, Bryant, Russell, etc. to play other positions Didn't badmouth Jeff S. at all. Said they made a good money offer and believe he isn't just a April/May pitcher Knew the market would start heating up and they took it before they got more competition Spent a lot of time working with Soler on hammy, will apply learnings to Russell, but not worried that much Almora is natural CF, McKinney will probably play RF-considered him at #2 overall (!!) cuz knew he wouldn't make it back around Russell is a fast mover. Were looking at AA and AAA prospects. Straily was a good buy low candidate (mentioned Arrietta and Wood). Needs to get back to doing what he did well in 12/13. Can't comment about Jeff S. coming back as a FA or the $$ they offered him. Doesn't think there are hard feelings. Won't rule out giving out big ($100M) contracts, but sounded like it won't happen unless it's perfect situation Always looking for tomorrow is a difficult thing, praised Beane's deal Doesn't think the PTBNL will change the balance of trade and will be more of a throw in Still looking to deal, but thinks the big stuff on their end is over Not sure on Al Contra timing to MLB, wants him to play CF more
  25. At this point I think they know the Cubs will win and should push forward with the 7 signs Completely agree. The blood is in the water, go for the full kill on these motherfuckers.
