  1. Jose Fernandez is the freaking man. 14k and only 3 base runners in eight innings against the Braves.
  2. Yeah, did Kottaras have leprosy or something? how was he worse?
  3. Couldn't edit my previous post. They have had racist and otherwise awful t-shirts for years. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3pCRov6WHas/SA821b0pFjI/AAAAAAAAAGk/20RhzW99iMI/s320/FukuKow.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxMjAw/$(KGrHqF,!mEE69QqOuzZBO4tQfNqI!~~60_35.JPG http://chicagosportsshirts.com/Shirts/Handipackers--FT.jpg http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gadgets/slideshows/6033/slide_6033_80695_large.jpg?1271211925408
  4. Chicago fans are really embarrassing themselves right now Now? How about all the time. http://img0.etsystatic.com/042/0/6577742/il_570xN.524959394_q6k1.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_3pCRov6WHas/SA821b0pFjI/AAAAAAAAAGk/20RhzW99iMI/s320/FukuKow.jpg
  5. Wall in Thibs system would be amazing. Thanks for the observation. http://www.derrickrosemvp.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/DerrickRoseMVP.jpg
  6. Such a douche. And wearing his WS ring also. [expletive] him. http://media3.giphy.com/media/Qy9hRuWrKjY2I/giphy.gif I've heard from a number of sources that Dempster is an extreme con-man, playing the great family guy who relates to the fans but is really an awful person who is a complete dick. I'll spare the details, but I trust the source pretty strongly. Anyway, this "Cubs not being awful" thing is fun, yes?
  7. Such a douche. And wearing his WS ring also. [expletive] him.
  8. Yeah. I'm hoping that they regress to the mean a bit in the playoffs. Would be excellent to have a few OT game winners in a row. Since OT in the regular season is only 5 minutes and 4 on 4, it's harder to measure vs. the chances of scoring in a full 20 minute (or more) OT period, but I figure they're due for at least 1 or 2 more than their opponents if it all regresses in a normal distribution.
  9. Parking anywhere in the neighborhood should be easy. At the very least, you could get anywhere north of Irving Park and walk the ~4 blocks.
  10. Absolutely. Since the tourney went to 64 teams, they are tied with Duke for most titles (4) and theirs are far more recent--first one in 99. With their presence in MSG, the B1G might have made a HUGE mistake taking Rutgers over them.
  11. I still always think Soler is like 25 years old. Good to see that even with all of the crap he's dealt with, he's still young for his league. Also, Mike [expletive] Trout. Unbelievable.
  12. This is setting up for a great rainstorm after 4 innings.
  13. I imagine Theo trying to work the phones for a Bonifacio trade right now.
  14. I wonder if that's a protection against making him a target with Toews and Kane both gone. Or they don't want to have him go over that magic 9 games played mark if they know that Toews and Kane are both actually not going to play in the playoffs and they think they will lose. Probably not, but possible.
  15. If Castro goes 3-3 tomorrow, he'll be all the way up to.250!
  16. Welp, Castro is garbage. This season is now 33% less interesting
  17. [expletive] no. renteria is already angering me with his small ball garbage. might as well have brought in Ryno.
  18. Neither can many of us. :banghead: FWIW, we were in on Josh Johnson and James Loney FWIW. We're all still pining for a firstbaseman. Vogelbach for Cole Rizzo for Cole.
  19. Everyone's favorite Verizon customer, Kelvin Sampson, hired as head coach of the Houston Cougars.
  20. I don't have much to compare them to, but DJ and Farmer are easily the worst broadcast duo I've ever heard. How they are still around is beyond me. Even when Judd Sirott does his awful inning with some of the brutal Cubs radio guys in recent years, it's still far more tolerable than DJ and Farmer. Part of the problem is that Farmer and DJ seem to alternate on who's doing PBP, which is annoying as all get out. When the Sox had Rooney and Farmer, they were pretty listenable because Rooney controlled the game and Farmer was just there hanging out.
  21. FYP That was with Texas in 2012, so I didn't include it as part of the trade. Unless he was -0.1 Opening Day, in which case I didn't see that on Baseball Reference so far.
  22. Going to be fascinating to see how the Garza trades work out in the long run: Rays: Chris Archer (2.1 WAR so far), Hak-Ju-Lee, Robinson Chirinos (0.3 of WAR total), Sam Fuld (1.8 WAR total), Brandon Guyer (0.1 WAR so far) Cubs: Matt Garza (5.5 WAR total), Zac Rosscup (0.2 WAR so far), Fernando Perez (0 WAR), Mike Olt, CJ Edwards, Neil Ramirez, Justin Grimm (0.2 WAR so far) Rangers: Matt Garza (-0.1 WAR total)--LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL So, basically, with the basically useless performance from Justin Grimm last year, the Cubs already won the Garza/Rangers trade unless they get negative WAR from the other guys going forward. Overall, there's a chance the Rays still win the trade if Archer and Lee are great, but it's likely the Garza series of trades works out well for the Cubs. Most of that is due to Theo/Jed making up for Hendry's trade.
  23. Don't think I'd be pleased with that if I were a Marquette fan. If Wojo does as good of a job as Chris Collins has, they'll make the tournament easily with the talent they have on their roster. But, when the Shaka Smart rumors turn into Wojo, they probably feel a bit let down right now.
