  2. are you married now? Congratulations! I guess my invitation got lost in the mail . . . Not yet. 23 days of freedom left. Enjoy! LOL!
  3. Biggio is a HOFer. I don't know if he will get in first year or not. I always thought Ryno would get in first ballot after Ozzie Smith did, but obviously Ryno didn't.

    Week 11

I moved Iwamura into the line-up to replace an injured Beltre.
  5. Does everyone in this league have an IM? It seems like it would be alot easier to talk about trades between one another if everyone used the same messenger. I prefer MSN (Windows Live) Messanger, but I also have AIM. Any thoughts?

  8. GLAVINE............................. YOU SUCK!!!!!!! -20+ and I'm going to lose by less then 6 pts. Jesus!
  9. aren't you implying women are weak? seems insulting to me. if I said, Drew had to sit again because he's an Adam, wouldn't that seem insulting? no, because i'd assume you were joking around...like i was. So sexist jokes should be ok? What about racist ones? I'm only semi-serious here but I do think you should consider what stereotypes you are propagating with that kind of "humor." I'm guessing you wouldn't make a similar joke implying latinos are weak. How is it different with women? No they're just "easier to control then African-Americans." per Gary Sheffield
  10. Outside of Vitters, I wasn't really excited about any of the other picks. I was reading up on the C in the second. Most scouts (that I read anyway) say his ceiling is a back-up, no bat, C. Is that really the best option in the 2nd round? Scouts hate guys who walk. Seriously, Wilken seems to be changing the course of the Cubs drafting all these patient hitters and no power arms. I like the picks. The report I read on Donaldson was quite different from what you just said though. I'm not overly upset about any of the picks. We obviously won't know how they turn out for quite some time. I hope that Donaldson has quite a bit higher ceiling then that as well. Especially at the C position. There were a couple picks I couldn't find any info on. So any info you guys have would be great. As far as the the picks tomorrow (actually later today!) do you think the Cubs will go more pitching oriented? I thought for sure they'd have picked a P in the first 5 picks, but I was wrong. Do you guys see value guys available in the next few rounds?

  12. LMAO!!!!!! You said women.................. and then you said three legs!!!! That's hilarious!!!
  13. CRAP! Looks like Saito hurt himself. I guess I have Broxton to cover his closer position already if he'll be out for awhile.
  14. I didn't call you any names. I think it's obvious that I didn't score points because Kennedy didn't show up in my line-up. I did make the move, Kennedy was in my line-up and I didn't score his points. So rather then causing a mess, I dropped Kennedy picked up Garmano and took his start. I ended up w/ 9 pts rather then the 27 pts I should have received. you actually shouldn't have received any points. germano was added illegally, and kennedy apparently wasn't in your lineup when he pitched. Well, if that's the feeling I could care less about the 9 pts. I made the Garmano move to keep from having an issue, but that obviously isn't the case. It wasn't that I didn't submit my line-up change. I moved Kennedy into the line-up and submitted my line-up. I don't know what the problem was. If the 9 pts needs to be removed, so be it.
  15. yep!.. one more thing.. they still got EPATT there.. id love to go and see what and who he is.. just find some positives in that team..yeah, i'm excited about seeing EPatt too Des Moines is about a 2 hour drive for me. We went down last week and caught a game. Pie was a double short of the cycle. He absolutely murdered the ball in his first AB for a HR. I waited outside to get an auto. from Pie. He was on a mission to get out of the ballpark, but I managed to get him to sign. EPatt on the other hand was AWESOME!!!!! He sat and talk to my kids. I asked him how CPatt was in Baltimore and he said he really liked Baltimore. Eric was a really down to earth guy and it was very nice to meet him. Note: Buck Coats was also extremely good with the kids! Nice guy to talk to as well.

  17. Thank you for making my point that the Kennedy move didn't process properly. I appreciate it.
  18. I assume Trammell will be in charge if this is the case.
  19. I'm not sure what the rule was on that? I picked Germano up because I had put Kennedy in the line-up and didn't get his 28 pts from his start. it looks like you didn't get kennedy's points b/c he wasn't in your lineup when he pitched on 6/1. I put him in the line-up overnight on 5/31 and moved Arroyo to the bench. The move was not executed for some reason?
  20. I don't know that it's really a"legit concern." It's a small sample size. And he wasn't being played everyday. He's a young player. Hitting both left and right hand pitching has never really been a problem with him. I also think that part of those numbers reflect not playing everyday. Pie was not used properly when up the last time. IMHO, he's a better player then both Jones and Pagan. For that reason, I see no issue with letting him play everyday and developing further in the ML. I also believe that it makes the Cubs a better team. (Especially defensively) Why would it not be a legitimate concern? His minor league numbers this year and last year do not represent all that small of a sample size. His numbers against lefties the last couple years (2005 in West Tenn, 2006 in Iowa, 2007 in Iowa and 2007 in Chicago) are .240 BA / .297 OBP / .345 SLG. I don't see why you think this is no problem. The fact that he's doing even worse most recently is not very encouraging. Again, I'd play him every day too but I'm not sure how someone would dismiss this. I couldn't find his splits prior to this year in Iowa. This splits are poor this year vs LHP in Iowa, but it's only 32 AB which is a small sample size. His MLB splits are small sample sizes as well. I'm not saying that Pie is going to hit LHP as good as RHP. What I am saying is that he gives the Cubs a better chance to win because he's the best available player for CF. And I do believe that he'll hit LHP eventually.
  21. Nothing personal, Andy, but WTF???????? How in the heck to figure that putting a more talented player in CF everyday is "conceding" the season? I've never heard the argument that putting inferior players out on the field is somehow a better way to go about winning games? Seriously!!! Pie is MLB ready. I thought it was obvious when he was up. He doesn't walk as much as you'd like, but that doesn't mean that he's not better then half the OF the Cubs continue to trot out there. Pie should be called up, he should start everyday. And by doing that you improve your chances of winning, IMHO. I agree that you play Pie every day. He's meant to be your everyday CF going forward and you let him grow into it now. However, there's legit concern that he's hitting .156/.229/.219 against lefties (and .256/.322/.327 last year). Pagan was awful against lefties last year but has been decent this year. 24. Lou hasn't said anything in the media that I haven't to the tv, but he's their manager, not a fan. He owes them a certain amount of respect in the public arena. Rip them a new one in private. Make them ride the bench. You don't accomplish anything positive by tossing guys under the bus in press conferences. Quite the opposite. Ummm............. because they've shown so much respect out on the field?!?! I have no issue at all. It's not throwing them under the bus, it's honesty at the core. He normally makes "general" criticisms anyway. This really isn't an issue, IMHO.
