Nothing personal, Andy, but WTF???????? How in the heck to figure that putting a more talented player in CF everyday is "conceding" the season? I've never heard the argument that putting inferior players out on the field is somehow a better way to go about winning games? Seriously!!! Pie is MLB ready. I thought it was obvious when he was up. He doesn't walk as much as you'd like, but that doesn't mean that he's not better then half the OF the Cubs continue to trot out there. Pie should be called up, he should start everyday. And by doing that you improve your chances of winning, IMHO. I agree that you play Pie every day. He's meant to be your everyday CF going forward and you let him grow into it now. However, there's legit concern that he's hitting .156/.229/.219 against lefties (and .256/.322/.327 last year). Pagan was awful against lefties last year but has been decent this year. I don't know that it's really a"legit concern." It's a small sample size. And he wasn't being played everyday. He's a young player. Hitting both left and right hand pitching has never really been a problem with him. I also think that part of those numbers reflect not playing everyday. Pie was not used properly when up the last time. IMHO, he's a better player then both Jones and Pagan. For that reason, I see no issue with letting him play everyday and developing further in the ML. I also believe that it makes the Cubs a better team. (Especially defensively)
