  1. The Braves have a pretty good lineup too.
  2. LSU needs to take advantage this year, cause Florida is going to be damn good next year and the year after.
  3. I'm happy it didn't go into the open market with the Yankees, Red Sox, and Mets all opening the vault for him.
  4. Around the same as Coke's taste infringement rights against Coke Zero.
  5. He's in the main rotation for now, but about 7 of the 10 USC running backs have looked good at some point and time in their camp. He and Pete Carroll announced he is transfering from USC today. Haven't heard anything about where though. That was the reason for the post :-).
  6. Any insight as to what Emmanuel Moody is going to do. After decommitting late with Texas and going to USC I never liked him anymore.
  7. At least we don't have any catching prospects in the minors who could fill in
  8. Price just signed a couple of hours ago so maybe things are in process.
  9. How many times has 3 hr's been hit and how many times has a pitcher thrown 15 strikeouts. Its going to take 2 more innings in all likelyhood before any player has any chance at any record. Just getting to 15 K's is much harder IMO and getting to pitch another two innings after doing so it even more difficult. Getting to 3 Hr's is not as hard and getting to hit for another 2 innings is much more easy.
  10. I would say 5 hr's only because it could happen in extra innings. When was the last time a pitcher actually pitched 10 innings in a game. Throwing 20 K's in 9 innings is hard enough, and he doesn't have enough to go further. Plus he will get pulled simply because of pitch count.
  11. Porcello surely not helping things.
  12. I think American's would get into soccer a lot more if they listened to that as well. Commentary over here really sucks.
  13. Imagine if you knew how to throw a baseball really well and were left-handed? You don't even need to be able to throw a baseball very well if you're left handed. I think there are some GM's who would pay just about anyone who could throw a ball 60 feet 6 inches with their left hand. I can do it, doubt I could top 80 though and probably for only about 20 pitches before the numbness sets in.
  14. Wow, he must have impressed someone very quickly up there. also Luisao got injured Still suprised that he got the call. Does Benfica not have much of a bench? Is Nuno Gomez playing or still hurt?
  15. Wow, he must have impressed someone very quickly up there.
  16. I wonder what Selig is thinking about this, being selected at 27th even thoguh he is a top 3 pick. Four-year contract worth $7.28 million!
  17. Sweet. I love my FSC investment already. :D dude .. have you yet seen the show (i think it's "premier league fanzone") where "they" let the fans do the commentary? they replay a fixture from the weekend and instead of the normal play-by-players, they have 1 fan from each side call the action. and if that's not enough, other fans are encouraged to send in text messages which scroll at the bottom of the screen. i stumbled upon it last season and am glad i did so. absolutely hilarious, particularly when goals are scored or controversial calls are made. i love fanzone. i really wish some american sport would pioneer this idea on cable. its brillant and usually the guys are pretty funny. if anyone remembers the spurs-west ham match late in the season last year , hammers were up 2-0, but ended up losing 4-3 with an extra time goal scored by spurs. it was a game that was shown live and then replayed as a fanzone game. when i watched it the first time with traditional announcers, i fought bad for the west ham fans because of the way they lost and it looked like it was going to send them down. watching the fanzone replay of it, gave me an insight into the passion of the average english football fanzone. i thought the west ham fan was going to hang himself. it was painfully to listen to the end of the match. I think I remember that one. Do they ever get the fans loaded before the game or let them drink whatever during it? Still its so much fun listening to it. I don't think many American fans can pull it off the same way though. For me the accent is one of the best parts. This is one of my favorite commentary moments of all time, and favorite goals as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFvXVlfu4vs
  18. Adu could make his Benfica debut today in the the Champions League Qualifier vs. Copenhagen. I don't think its a real option being with the club only 7 days, but its mentioned. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/soccer/08/13/bc.soc.benfica.adu.ap/index.html

Its awesome, especially if you can get a United vs City matchup, or anything with a lot of prior hate between them ;-).
  20. That's true, but wasn't the US in Copa America (albeit briefly, though I think they eventually did score A goal)? Bah, I suppose it makes nominal sense, but I at least hope the US will field a competitive group, although I imagine attendance will be scarce with the game on the same day as Bears/Chargers. We scored in our first Copa game early, Eddie Johnson vs Argentina. I guarantee the game will sell out. Brazil travels exceptionally well no matter where they go. They will fill seats even if we don't. They don't just travel well, but it could become a full blown mini Carnaval. They will be tailgating to if you feel like your suffering any Bears withdrawls. If I lived anywhere around Chicago I would go in a heart beat. If the top players play then its a huge bonus. This would be a nice game to break in Adu and Altidore :-).
  21. I just came to post this. What an amazing strike. Me 3. If Torres can keep up his play today consistently, Liverpool could do some serious damage. Especially if the Heinze transfer is forced. I don't even know if it would crack Gerrard's personal top 20 goals.
  22. not according to the rules on the site yeah, just make one a week. Unless you want this to be your "wild card" week. Ok thats what it was. I made two transfers after deciding to boost my midfield rather than just picking another forward.
  23. It costs points to make transfers if your looking to do so. With Rooney breaking his foot, I had to.
  24. Is it wrong to have a mancrush on Gerrard? He's the f'in man! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIPVNtVno8w
  25. Kenny Williams should be drug tested for even thinking that either one of those guys would be available for Pods, but then again, he wanted even more than that from teams for a 50 year old pitcher with $20 mil left on his contract. KW is really nuts or sky high! KW always swings for the fences in the early stages of a deal. Thats almost a little low for what he normally swings for. Almost suprised he didn't ask for Pie.
