  1. Right now I think this is a trade that makes the most sense. Only problem is that Chuck Lamar is not going to fleece Jim Hendry like he did the Mets last season. Huff has been very quite in the rumor mill lately which I think is really odd. This will not be a cheap trade though, something like Dopirak, Pinto, and a low level prospect. He will ask for Hill instead of Pinto as well. The good thing is this isn't a 1 year trade.

  3. Bay does the worst with Choi not to far behind. I don't think Choi's swing is very good for this contest, but his raw power will make up for it. I got Tex. beating Big Papi in the finals.
  4. He is on the market, but I think the Reds are still more likely to trade Kearns over Dunn. The Reds have a lot of leverage right now with these two guys and several teams looking at them.
  5. I am begining to think the Kotsay signing is going to spark a lot of movement in the OF department this midseason. Hopefully we will see the Preston Wilson to the Nationals move very soon. I don't see the Reds moving Dunn or Kearns quickly as we could see 5 teams involoved to get one of those guys, but desperation could begining to sink in once another deal goes down. I am still looking at Huff as a potential quick deal that no one really reports coming.
  6. He made the trip, thats awesome. 5,661 people last I saw this year. I guess the first week is all about survival. Where the hell are they sitting everyone?
  7. I wonder if Gary Varsho is ready
  8. Why sell, the core of this team is very solid. The upcoming FA class is very weak. Regardless of the outcome of this season the Cubs need to be buyers, because they will fill the holes with better quality players than they will through FA.
  9. How long have I been saying to go get Huff. He i getting hot, will get close to his carrer avg's. Once he gets out of Tampa he is going to explode. He is the type of professional hitter we need to get in Chicago.
  10. Same division as O's, Red Sox, and Yanks. Sounds like a 4 team bidding war to me.
  11. When is Mia Hamm day?
  12. I think it all depends on if Hill can make it in the majors as a starter, something the Cubs seemed to have questioned? His fastball doesn't scare people, and righthand hitters can sit on the curve. If he becomes a lefty specialist, then he has more value to bring in an OF.
  13. Kyle Drabek out of the Woodlands I believe.
  14. Glad to see Pie is on Zambrano's old diet.
  15. Can they afford both Chavez and Beltran? If not I'll settle for Aramis at 3rd.
  16. Thanks, Mark. You know I've been puzzling over those for ages! hmm...so maybe in 2005 the Cubs could feature Jose Vidro at 2nd with Harris at SS? Any chance they will have him work out at SS in Iowa this season, or do they simply want him to focus on the bat and play 2nd?
  17. That’s quite a goal for Sarge, if Gonzo can hit anywhere between .250-.260 it would be quite of an accomplishment. In batting practice they need to put up a brick wall right on the 3rd base side of the plate forcing Alex to hit to the opposite field. Or make him do it like Willie Mays Hays every time he pulls the ball.
  18. This might confuse Matt Morris and his abilty to understand what a rivalry is.
  19. Just listening to it on the radio, I did get a little tired of listening to Game 6 and Game 7 recaps, but jokes were made and the crowd seemed to be able to laugh about it. Was there still a lot of discussion about it throughout the day.
