  1. Why/how do you think is Church better? Better hitter IMO, almost equal power (slight edge to Gomez), better BB:K, and can play CF. Think Church will benefit more from a change of scenery.
  2. I'd rather have Church, but would settle for Gomez.
  3. You do mean to the Cubs, right? I'm fine with that. Given the lack of anything being available, Church is a solid option who will only make the bench better can could somehow even catch fire at some point given a change.
  4. Hahaha, what?! Zach Greinke sucks, he's not good at baseball. I don't see why several people in this thread think we'd be ripping the Royals off. Greinke is not good. Neither is Josh Hamilton. Potential > Production.
  5. What are the odds that both Williams and Guillen are gone in the offseason.
  6. Do you want Dotel or something? Hell yeah. Dotel is a great pitcher. Better than Eyre or Ohman and maybe Howry. The prospects would be better spent getting a bat imo, especially with the potential of Wood coming up this week. We only have so much ammo, and I don't see that being of great need.
  7. Do you want Dotel or something?
  8. Without looking, Teixera. I think that's right. Anyways, I've got an odd feeling we're going to get Griffey. Anyone who has seen me talk about the Cubs knows I'm far from an optimist, but my gut tells me that the kid will be in a Cubs uniform by Tuesday. Teixeira. ei and another ei.
  9. Dusty Baker actually talking about pulling a pitcher early tonight due to his pitch count, even if that means he won't get the win.
  10. The Yankees are only four out in the Wild Card race... they're definitely still alive. I wouldn't be surprised if they made a serious run at the division title either. I missed that, but I still think Indians and Tigers will hold them off.
  11. A week ago people thought the Yankees had a shot, but had quickly laid off of that. Until they reach .500 I don't consider them much of a threat, especially when you rs vs ra. They have given up the 3rd most runs in the NL, and I think that will prevent them from going on any real streak.
  12. Are you taking a dump in the airport with the door unlocked or open? How the hell does he take a peak in, and why would he do that. Does he not see your feet?
  13. Don't know why, but I think it is related.
  14. Tells us that Houston is stupid? The Jason Jennings trade told us that a while back.
  15. He's not worth the drop in the waiver order, even if your last :-).
  16. Considering what the Astros gave up to get him, that is looking like the worst trade last offseason, like many people predicted before the season began. If they trade Jennings now, they will not get jack.
  17. If Canseco had a video tape of Bonds shooting up, I would still rather see him just go away forever and never show it. He is probably writing another book just to get his own reality tv show on vh1.
  18. If he has been talking to the front office about wanting out I think they will let him go.
  19. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070728cubsbrite,1,3025243.story?coll=cs-home-headlines (Edited by moderator for copyrighted content) Ugh just as I'm settling with the fact Hendry is going to not make a big move like a Griffey. Stuff like this pops out to make it sting again. :( No kidding. I know there is almost no chance, but I want to believe there is a little chance.
  20. Past 2 years: 2006: .235/.396/.463/.859 2007: .232/.323/.384/.707 I'll pass. Even when he was good, I thought he was one of the most overrated players in all of baseball. Now he is not even rated.
  21. If the Cubs over take soon its going to be interesting to see the way they respond. You have to think that they are really feeling the pressure right now.
  22. I am hoping we can catch them by the end of next week and open up a big lead come September and I can see them clinch in Houston :-).
  23. God only knows. Maybe they'll flip him. I think that they think they will be able to get back in this thing. They have the last few years anyways. Houston has never been one of the smartest cities in the US. However to their credit they have do have one of the largest stripper populations in the United States :-). They have some of the best Gentleman's Clubs in the nation. Treasures is truly an awesome place. If Vance knows anything about anything, this is the subject. :P I once saw a bunch of Cubs in there a night after a game. Of course, I wasn't paying any attention to the Cubs players at the time. That was probably the first time you've seen Cubs players and not gone up to ask for an autograph. Or asked if you could take a picture of Addison sitting in their laps. Knowing Treasures the way I know Treasures, I am 100% sure their laps were already preoccupied.
