  1. Depends on how physical the game is. Injury stoppage happens in all games, but the Italians certainly milk it. Just wait till we play Mexico
  2. ok, now we get to plunk AJ
  3. Has Aleixi Ramirez been aloud to eat anything or even have a meal allowance?
  4. If Edmonds turned around and just beat the crap out of AJ what would the reaction here be?
  5. You ever consider soap on a rope?
  6. I need 5.5 points in tonights game. I have 5 potential players bringing in points vs. his 1. Cubs need to win and keep Jenks off the mound.
  7. Nope I will still hate them just as much. Not to mention they play the most boring style of any recent wc champion that I can think of in recent memory.
  8. Wow Spain's major tournament losses on June 22 in the Quarterfinals is amazing. 1986 WC Quarters 1996 Euro Quarters 2002 WC Quarters I would hate to see that if I was spanish.
  9. It's the dutch. It's typical. Tomorrow, the quarter finals against Russia. Russia is no joke. I think they have more than a small chance in that game. If anyone will know how to play the Dutch, it'll be Guus. Thank you...thank you very much ladies and germs. Dude, I can't believe for a second the USSF wouldn't give control up. Well I am glad I missed the game today. Might as well delete it without watching. Almost glad to lose that way rather than penalties. The 2nd Russian goal was great.
  10. Got back from another Rough Riders game last night. Max Ramirez can freaking hit. Another 3 run shot to CF about 430 feet. Curious to see what Texas does with him, trade him or move him to become a DH.
  11. Link. oh my goodness... :yahoo: That really makes me think we are going to get another pitcher.
  12. We have plenty of prospects to trade. The problem is we have no prospects we absolutely have to keep.
  13. I thought a strain was just a pull. A pull is a tear. When you pull or stretch a muscle too far, there are micro tears in the muscle fibers. Every time you lift weights you have micro tears in your muscle.
  14. You should, it will make you feel better. Or just Aram's HR a couple of time ;-).
  15. Suddenly Germany is looking good.
  16. Saturday at 1:30 on ABC :-).
  17. If you could pick a "grudge" matchup in Europe, that would be the one. Orange madness will reach unprecedented heights if that were to happen. To me, a possible The Netherlands vs Spain semi would be the match of the tournament 8-) Right now thats what I am thinking. Still have to beat Russia on Saturday 1st. I won't be upset should Spain some how lose on Sunday either ;-). Netherlands/Spain still would be a fun match to watch, should be the most free flowing attacking match of the Euro's.
  18. I'm shocked and happy as I would rather face Germany in the finals over Portugal. Portugal again under achieves.
  19. I did. Now I have a quiet evening at least. Opinions were divided among my Dutch colleagues: some preferred Sweden, some Russia. Personally, I don't think it matters; Spain and The Netherlands seem to be head and shoulders above the rest... I really didn't know who I wanted them to play. I guess I would prefer the team the least productive offense, which might be Russia but not today against Sweden.
  20. thank you I am cheering for Fresno State here on out now this tourney. They can put up a lot of runs off of anyone in the nation.
  21. Tell me about it. I'm in a hotel in Breda giving a seminar for a bunch of Dutch colleagues; as soccer madness has struck here, I'll be forced to cut the evening session short because of the soccer games on TV (they want to find out who will play them in the quarter finals). Seminar with bored suits or soccer with drunk Dutch fans. Choices, choices... No joke, you might as well talk as fast as you can and get it over with. They probably aren't even listening to you as the game comes on in the next hour and a half ;-).
  22. Interleague play has lost some of its luster. Surely, the Cubs-White Sox, Yankees-Mets, and Angels-Dodgers still generate a lot of interest. I suppose the same might be said of Rangers-Astros, Giants-A's, and Marlins-Rays to some extent. But the other match-ups aren't that compelling. I guess it's nice for fans in some cities to get to see teams they normally miss, but I wouldn't shed a tear if interleague play was done away with. I certainly don't like the fact that we get the White Sox for 6 games every year where the Cards get the Royals. I really don't even care about the rival matchups any more.
  23. Can't complain with Holland today, 2-0 with most of the starters sitting. Curious to see if Robben or van Persie get the start in the quarterfinals. Either way they have been unbelievable so far this tourney.
