  1. This isn't the first time Hendry and Beane have worked together. I do believe that GM's prefer to work with specific GM's and not so much others.
  2. In a heartbeat. i don't know about milton anymore... i didn't know that he was as hobbled as he is this season...i didn't know that he has been starting as a DH a lot... personally, i am really not that big of a fan of kosuke in center... For the year (72 games): .315 .441 .596 1.037 As a rightie vs. righties (5 AB's): .400 .400 1.000 1.400 As a rightie vs. lefties (171 AB's): .304 .423 .538 .961 As a leftie vs. righties (84 A's): .333 .477 .690 1.168 His OPS has just been increasing with each full month: .912 1.036 1.213 I'll happily move Kosuke to CF (where his production looks much better) to get Bradley's production from RF. agreed
  3. Love him or hate him, I don't think anyone can really ever question Hendry's work ethic. I am sure this will follow with a couple of donut jokes, but the man works his ass off.
  4. Agreed. He certainly has plenty of philosophical flaws (which he may have come around on, actually), but he has put together 3 blockbuster deals over the last 6 years when his team was in serious contention. Prior to his tenure as GM, I can't really remember the Cubs being anywhere near as aggressive. I was fixing to post the official apologize to Hendry thread
  5. As long as he is healthy for 4 more months Even if he's on the field as little as Nomar was, it's still a good move. It gives the Cubs a legit chance just to have him in their control. Harden could start 20 more times and throw 20 shutouts and it doesn't guarantee anything. This is a good deal. The Cubs gave up some talent, but nobody that had a clear cut spot in the near future. I think it is a great great trade. We didn't even lose Vitters unless there is a PTBNL that has not been announced.
  6. 12 years old and only 75lbs, I am pretty sure my left leg weighed 75 lbs when I was 12. Seriously protein shakes or take the kid to McDonalds or something.
  7. I think he will be pissed if he is also not listed as the DH
  8. The deal is going to take a while as it has to be a three way deal sending Brian Roberts to Oakland. Its just waiting on Angelos approval.
  9. You're Mr. Dutch. Get Ajax on the phone. I'll just drive over to FC Dallas being 15 miles away and have a little chat with his Grandfather ;-). Reading the article it seemed like Dennis Wise is the main reason NewCastle are very interested. I did find it interesting that Kenny Cooper Sr. is somehow involved in all of this. I am all about getting these kids over to Holland at a young age only to have them sold off by age 20 to a bigger club. Then again I also had a previous plan of sending over some of the worthless slutty US women to Brazil, have them get knocked up and bring them back to the states prior to the child being born :-).
  10. I posted this a while back. I wonder if he is related to the FC Dallas head coach? New Castle is very low on my places I want to see American talent developed list. yep grandson. Yeah would not be my first choice, especially given his current size. Unless they can help bulk him up.
  11. Which is why they'll be watching the post season again this year like every one of the last 26 years. That pen gives new meaning to the name: "Gas can". Their run differential looks a whole lot likes last years team. They still look like a very streaky team.
  12. I don't remember ever seeing this posted here, but should be interesting. He needs to add a little meat to the bones, but I guess you can't expect too much at age 12. http://www.dallassoccernews.com/article.php?article_id=1279
  13. Well it looks like its the Cubs turn to react. I am curious if the Cards can even make any moves worth anything. The NL Central could be very loaded come August.
  14. Price might be the most untouchable prospect since Prior, and where did Prior begin his college career too? I can't wait to call up Price on my fantasy team.
  15. If we match them with Harden I will be very happy. Plus it would be nice to see the Brewers lose prospects and Sabathia at the end of the season. ESPN bottom line says its not a done deal, but working closely.
  16. I agree with the poster who said Hendry ought to ask for a 72-hour window to talk extension before parting with Cedeno, Gallagher, Vitters, plus one more top prospect. Sure it would be good idea to ask for it, but regardless, I'd take this deal in a heartbeat and do jumping jacks like I'm getting paid to. What the hell ask for it, but it certainly won't be a dealbreaker. Hell I only want 72 hours if he pitched the day before and won't be pitching for another 72 hours. Now, now, do it now.
  17. Owings is out tonight, bringing me down to 3 starts tonight. If I had to lose one he was the one I wanted to lose.
  18. If you had any confidence in him continuing that production, there's no way you'd look to trade him! well, it would obviously depend on what i was getting in return. it's getting to the point now where there aren't many SP's that i would give him up for in a 1-for-1 deal. it's not like i'm going to take randy wolf or somebody in return for him. If I had Randy Wolf, I'd probably offer him up for Danks. Maybe I should! That picture of Kevin Love in your sig looks like he is doing that dance from the "Three Amigos".
  19. nah, we want to keep this matchup as close as possible ;-)
  20. Snyder went on the DL, replaced him with Max Ramirez. Getting sick of all this DL swapping I am doing. One comes off another goes on.
  21. Yeah I was looking at that and I don't like it. None of the matchups are really bad, but I still don't like it. I need 100 points tomorrow. all of your starters have pretty tough matchups this week, really. I know, but I am trying to be optimistic damn it. Don't have to win, just don't get shelled. I am most worried about Owings tomorrow. Though I am expecting Sanchez to get shelled for you too ;-). not saying that it won't happen...as sanchez is prone to some blow-ups...but he's been pretty much lights out for a while now and the dodgers ain't exactly lighting up the scoreboards. i'm more concerned about the duke facing the white sox and even dempster facing the giants. you're pitchers have faced/will face cws, det, @hou, tb, milwaukee, and the mets. meanwhile, i've faced minn, cleveland, sf, cws, lad, seattle and oakland. those matchups certainly favor me. Your matchups are certainly in your favor.
