  1. So, 2 of the 3 best position players will make or break them. Whoah. Don't go too far out on that limb. And Holliday has been worth 5+ WAR for 5 straight years. There's pretty much no uncertainty with him.
  2. Curious as to what their future plans hold though. They may have a better farm system than we do but they might not be too far away from looking worse than we do now. What does this even mean?
  3. and Junior Lake is all tools, no skill
  4. Knock it off with the turnover [expletive] Mizzou.
  5. I LOVE how many open looks Mizzou gets.
  6. Yep. Theo is a bad, bad man I'll agree, but Walt is also bad, bad at his job. He's made 3 good trades in the last 10 years and 2 were for Scott Rolen.
  7. Wow. That reds44 guy is a moron. Doesn't he post here? Or used to post here anyway? no idea That Vottomatic guy is pretty dense as well.
  8. I think if SD actually wanted him they could have gotten him in the Latos deal instead of Volquez.
  9. Reds looking at Marshall per Rosenthal http://mlbbuzz.yardbarker.com/blog/mlbbuzz/reds_cubs_talking_trade/8859868?new_post=true
  10. I'd go with Tate and Washington.
  11. So, I'm somehow in the Championship after Cardinalsing my way into the playoffs. Finished the season 7-7 and won a 4 team tiebreaker. Went from stacked, to crushed by injury, to picking the right waiver guys that had big weeks based on matchups. So... Pick 2: PPR and return yards (not much on return yards, but...) Brandon Lloyd @ PIT Percy Harvin @ WAS Randall Cobb v CHI Malcom Floyd @ DET I'm thinking Floyd and Cobb, but Lloyd is the Rams primary target by far and Harvin can break big plays. Pick 2: Mike Tolbert @ DET (opponent has Matthews) Beanie Wells @ CIN Marshawn Lynch v SF I'm thinking Tolbert and Wells. Any thoughts on defense? I'm thinking Green Bay home against Chicago, Tennessee home against Jacksonville or Washington home against Minnesota but can't make up my mind.
  12. As a buddy noted on twitter recently, CJ Wilson moved to the rotation at about the age Marshall is now. Has Wilson ever have the arm troubles Marshall has had? Plus Wilson was never quite as dominant as a reliever as Marshall is. Usually a starter is more valuable than a reliever, but Marshall is so elite in the bullpen that he'd have to be a really good starter to be more valuable there. The likelihood that he would be IMO is not worth risking it. 200 innings of completely league average pitching would equal his value from last year, and he was the 3rd most valuable reliever in baseball. The smart move would have been to sign him last year at good reliever rates and try to convert him.
