  1. Rogers doesn't think the Cubs will get Darvish because it would block Casey Coleman.
  2. That's awesome. Wouldn't want to let Prince fielder block a career minor leaguer that's a year and a half older than him.
  3. The Kubel deal makes no sense at all. The DBacks have a LH hitting LF who's not yet 25, just had 113 OPS+ season, won a Gold Glove and isn't yet arbitration eligible. Odd.
  4. I need 5.2 points out of Vernon Davis. He's been so inconsistent I'm pretty worried about it.
  5. bwahaha Tebow taking a 29 yard sack kind of sucks because he's on my fantasy team though
  6. such a stupid rule
  7. I'm trying to think if the Packers losing is good for the Bears or bad. I would thinking bad. Losing means that HFA is still not clinched when we play them. And even if we beat them, they will likely have clinched it by virtue of SF losing. If that happens they have nothing to play for against the Lions in Week 17 But if SF loses on MNF then Green Bay will have clinched already, right? Green Bay isn't going to lose to KC. wat? I'll take it. I think god is just trolling Tebow and setting him up to lose to the Orton led Chiefs to miss the playoffs.

  9. Adding Beltran wouldn't change much other than adding a star bat. A rotation of Craig/Jay/Beltran in RF and Craig/Berkman at 1b would give them all plenty of AB's and enough depth to give guys a rest. Carpenter and Furcal are obvious injury risks, but Wainwright is coming off of TJ not shoulder issues or chronic elbow problems or something and they have rotation depth in Lynn and Miller. Given the need for a bat and FA remaining, Beltran makes a ton of sense.
  10. They look pretty pumped. http://www.hornetsreport.com/HRForums/attachment.php?attachmentid=3343&d=1324144089
  11. The Reds were no more "unlucky" last year as they were "lucky" in 2010. Cueto overperformed last year, they lost their best bullpen arm, lost a 2 WAR catcher, have a rookie SS, pretty much no LF or 3b, and the 3-5 slots of their rotation are league average at their best. Young does not equal good.
  12. that's a pretty damn good haul, and I'm not high on Alonso at all
  13. That's what I'm thinking. Gotta be Alonso, Grandal and someone else.
  14. Padres acquire RHPs Edinson Volquez & Brad Boxberger, INF Yonder Alonso and C Yasmani Grandal
  15. Who is they? He didn't specify which teams, but I assume that's what all his random MLB team sources are saying.
  16. Goldstein in saying there is a high bid and Nippon Ham knows the dollar amount but does not know the team. No bidding team knows if they've won or lost. The most Goldstein is getting from his sources is that they "feel their bid is competitive."
  17. The Warriors signed Kwame Brown for 7 mil. WTF?
  18. Last year he went 2nd to home 10/24, stopped at 3rd 13/24 and was thrown out once.
  19. Is that saying he was only on 2nd 12 times when a single was hit. That seems insanely low to me. BRef has it at 24. And it has him 3-64 going 1st to 3rd.
  20. -9 looks kind of optimistic by those numbers. 4 for 38 1st to 3rd is incredibly awful. I don't know if there's a way to get a full MLB list to see where he is, but it's got to be the worst. I just looked up the slowest guy I could think of, Yadier Molina, and he was 8-25.
  21. Isn't the whole story that STL had opportunities to lock him up in previous years but chose not to be serious with an offer? They could have locked him up 2 years ago, a year ago or two weeks ago, but it would have cost 250+ mil no matter what.
  22. ESPN saying talks are back on! this is fun
  23. Pretty much. Prosecution was going to hear from what, 8 victims?
