  1. Aside from last night Pujols has been in quite a slump. But OTOH, Holliday isn't going to stay this hot. Regardless, nice work today by the pond scum.
  2. So, he's not good. Losing this one, no matter how it happens, might be as demoralizing as Sunday.
  3. This guy walks!
  4. As a former Waukegan resident myself I can assure you that you spelled it correctly. +1 And I can also assure you that Waukegan sucks far, far worse than St. Louis. Or pretty much anywhere else not named North Chicago.
  5. http://www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/daytoncourts/entries/2009/07/28/dayton_julio_castillo_the.html That sucks. I wonder if the Cubs were obligated to pay his bills since it happened while Castillo was "at work." If not, the Cubs are certainly doing that man a huge favor. Legally speaking, it's a close call. And not very interesting. But it depends on whether what he did was considered "within the scope of his employment," basically. It's a broader definition than you might think, which is probably why they were paying for his defense.
  6. Well, he really didn't try to hard to get out of the way No, he didn't, but they never call that. And the Reds announcers know it.
  7. They don't call him Harangutan for nothing. I've never heard that before, but it applies very much.
  8. I didn't realize how bad Harang has been this year. Except there. Nice job, Riot.
  9. I'd do Ichiro for Bay straight up. I think Bay is the best player involved in that deal. He's been in a slump lately, but it's a walk year and he's hitting cleanup in a loaded lineup. I agree with this. Wood is a bonus.
  10. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=310780&src=149 Here's what I don't get. If the only basis for any such penalty levied against the Hawks is that Hossa and the FO discussed retirement when negotiating this deal, who is going to admit to it? And if they did, assuming they knew it was a no-no, how did this info get out? An aggrieved Tallon supporter?
  11. And then some.
  12. I don't know, this doesn't seem so much the Hawks' fault. I don't know the specifics, but it sounds as if they are getting toward the very boundaries of the rules, and the NHL and other teams don't like it.
  13. This is probably good for the 'Stros.
  14. Thx. I'll bet Milton has his back.
  15. According to Chicago Tribune sports, Tillman is out indefinitely with back surgery. I'm not sure whether I should be upset about this or not.
  16. He looked kinda like this http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m100/fishmaster17/Z.jpg Nice.
  17. Wow, Latroy has a 2.36 ERA this year. I'll be damned.
  18. Well, nice job Heilman. Now lets put one across and bail Lou out.
  19. Senility I typed that same word at the same time...
