    By who? All of them? I guess my thinking was to be unconventional. Odds are that we will get nothing out of the bottom third of our order today, so why not try to catch the defense completely off guard? I was being literal, a la John McKay.

    Koivu would be a killer pickup. Exactly what we need. Agreed. I see the Hawks being as aggressive as they can be, considering the cap. They must have made a boatload of money this year, and I think they know that they need to continue to improve and be a perennial contender to fully renew all of the goodwill that had been lost.

    That would be a lot of fun. But I don't see those guys signing short-term and definitely not at that low price tag. That's one hell of a team. But yeah, the Sedins could get $7.5M each for 5 years. Hawks obviously can't do that. Not many teams can.

    The great thing about going deep into the playoffs is the offseason is so much shorter! We have the draft in about a month, then free agecy, then the convention about a month after that, then camp and preseason schedule about a month after that. Awesome.

    I was just about to point that out. I swear it had the correct spelling earlier, but now it doesn't. Have I completely lost it now? The mistakes are all part of the GT pimping experience. Don't question it.

    Yeah, but do you still think he's bad? I never said he's anything special, but all indications are he's as good as any goalie needs to be to allow a quality team to succeed in the playoffs. I still (surprise!) think he's bad, but I'm resigned to the fact that the Hawks have no choice but to roll with him. But a few posts ago someone said they need to let Havlat go and get another defenseman. I don't know. Let Barker and Hjalmarsson develop and you'll be fine on the back up. Matt Walker is shaky, but he's your 6th defenseman. It's like having a 5th starter with a 4.50 ERA. It is what it is. I don't see some of the offensive guys progressing like I think the young d-men will. So spend the money on offense. I would say this about Huet -- I hope we have a decent backup to play significant time. But if he gets hot in the playoffs like he was last night, then obviously he would be good, during that time. I mean, I think everyone has hot/cold streaks, but it looks to me like Huet's are longer, and deeper. The real battle will be for the backup job between Crawford and Niemi, I reckon.
