    I would love to use this as more evidence that Favre is the ultimate drama queen and gets a pass because he's Brett Favre. But I agree with those who are saying he planned this all along to avoid all the hard work in training camp.

    This thread got my hopes up again and I hate you for that. Yeah, not mine. I think I'm finally cured of such optimism. There is a very fine line between optimism and stupidity. It's just plain stupid to think the Cubs can finish 33-13 when they've shown us no reason whatsoever to think they can be that good. Yeah, that sums it up.

    Sandberg and Sweetness for me. One died young and the other is pretty annoying, childhood ruined for me. :cry: Jordan and Sosa... One cheated on his wife the other took roids. Oh, childhood heroes. I have a complete and total double standard when it comes to MJ. I admit it. I don't care what that guy did, there is no separating the player from the guy. I worshipped both and basically still do.

    I never really cared for Ryno as a guy even if I loved him as a player. You could just kind of tell he was an ass. Like Scottie Pippen. But his "politicking" for the job after doing absolutely nothing to earn it a few years ago really turned me off. He thought he could walk in on reputation and handle one of the toughest managing jobs in sports.

    Yeah. I think we're going to see a resurgence of the questions about why the heck we have him on the roster. Pretty much anything would be better. There's nothing that shows me Basanez belongs in the NFL in any capacity. This. And I'm very concerned about Hanie being the backup.

    The live stream on pga.com following Woods-Paddy-Beem is pretty sweet. Woods through 7 with a 2 shot lead now. He's really grinding it out with some medium-length putts for par.

    It doesn't really matter to me how he wins. If it's not even close, well then he was dominant. If it is close, then there is a little drama.

    The only thing I could think of is to avoid some kind of defamation suit, saying that the story was overblown by the media. It's part of the groundwork for a settlement. Right. The thing I don't get about this, and I've not done criminal work so maybe I'm just ignorant, but the attorney that represents Kane used to represent the cabbie. That's not an issue in and of itself. But the attorney is out there talking about the cabbie's prior legal problems. I don't think it's an obvious ethics violation, but it sure stinks.

    From what the ESPN blogger said, Woods missed potential eagle/birdie putts on the last three holes. Incredible. The pro at our local teaching facility threw up an 81, good for 154th. But it's got to be an awesome experience. And I'd probably shoot 150 there, so I'm not criticizing.

    ESPN is running an article saying the cabbie's attorney is downplaying the incident. Sounds like someone is greasing the wheels from him to drop this and get hisself paid.

    why? because they upgraded from havlat to hossa? because they did the smart thing and DIDN'T overpay for khabi? if this was like the cubs offseason, they would have overpaid for havlat and khabi, and then traded duncan keith for a role player Have you been in hibernation? They got Hossa, who turned out to be hurt and are being investigated for potential misconduct and may be fined or lose draft picks because of it. They had to overpay and put themselves in an even more precarious cap position because they effed up the RFA offers. And the whole Tallon thing. And you are saying it's not been a bad offseason? Anyway, as to the Kane thing, I'm sure it will all get pinned on his cousin in the end. He'll come out clean.
