  1. I could care less if Sammy was a juicer. My only complaint/question is why didn't more Cubs players juice? I'm talkin the whole fricken team. We couldv'e won a WS if more had. The PED window for a Cubs championship is forever closed. And no...Sammy and all other heavily suspected juicers should not be eligible for the hall.
  2. They need a 3rd baseman now that Chipper is out. Do they go after A-Ram?
  3. I don't know much about Cashner but its clear he has a plus fast ball - but does he have a change or curve? He also seems to have some control issues. Basically, I don't know why everyone thinks he s/b in the rotation. What am I missing?
  4. Agreed.
  5. Does D Lee want to retire a Cub at the end of the year? Maybe there is more to his back problems than we know about. If he doesn't retire, does Hendry offer him a 1 yr. deal worth $6M? Who else do could we get (on the market or internally) that has his glove? And if we go to the market and don't sign Lee, we'd definitely be overpaying as it is.
  6. With him showing some decent power already at 20 and knowing he'll put on some more weight/muscle in the coming years, is moving Castro to 3rd in 2-3 years a legitimate option? With Lee (the SS Korean kid) supposedly better/raw skills than Castro, he might eventually be a better option for SS. Vitters is no guarantee for 3rd (and I realize neither is Lee for SS).
  7. We need Blago to stay in office - I'm sure he could get it done.
  8. fredi gonzalez went after his superstar in the dugout. he should have known who hanley ramirez was. i don't want a guy who feels compelled to make examples out of people who are far more important and talented than him. So, you don't like Bobby Cox b/c he pulled A Jones mid-inning?
  9. Yeah, screw the only marketable asset this club has. Yeah, screw it. When it boils down, I want a WS - thats it. If it means not at Wrigley but at a venue that has all the ammenities (more night games, batting cages, etc..) plus an old school look, I'll take it. I'm not really worried about boozing after the game with the post-collegiate crowd, give me a WS.
  10. Jim Riggleman
  11. The Cubs are on a 102 year draught...if they played in Schaumburg and won the WS - I'd be happy. Screw Wrigley, its a dump, get over it. If you're a true fan - who cares where they win it?
  12. I honestly cannot stand when Joe Buck says that the STL fans are the best. He's so annoying. Hearing it ad nauseum makes me sick too (is that a double negative?).
  13. I'm pretty sure that's all GWB did. That and lie about WMD's. This golfing and basketball thing is catching up to Obummer too. That and dig our country into an abyss of obscene debt levels all while promising transparency yet allowing back room deals w/ politicians and lobbyists for healthcare reform. Talk about a lie. But lets get back to the topic please...thanks.
  14. Does anyone know how the MLB Union dues structure is set up? Is it the same % of salary paid to the unions no matter how small/large the contract is (ie. 10% of a $1M contract and 10% of a $13M contract)? Or does the % decrease as the contract grows (ie. 10%/$1M and 3%/$13M)? Thanks.
  15. Amen, bro.
  16. The one thing I hate about Wrigley is that people will continue to show, no matter what the product. I bet the minimum avg. attendence would be 20K if they REALLY sucked. I wish they'd tear it down and build somewhere else - I'd still be a fan. The place is a [expletive] hole.
  17. He's like Rich Hill...only a google-times better
  18. I bet you wouldn't mind what kind of owner he was if he brought you a WS ring. I'll take him.
  19. I thought the best pitch in baseball was...strike 1. No matter who's pitching.
  20. I remember that when E Patt was coming up in the farm system, he was supposed to be alot better than C Patt. Another example of not being able to develop players.
  21. Tonights a great night for the Hawk-eroo - they're down 6-2 with 3 outs left. Hilarious.
  22. I actually enjoy listening to Hawk when the Sox are losing. His description of the opposing teams are always as if they were the 27 Yankees (and of course, not that the Sox are bad). I enjoy his excuses for poor Sox play, I guess.
  23. If Holliday signs w/ StL for $17M-$18M, which is more than AP is making - how long will it take for them to rip up AP's contract? Before the season? I can't see AP accepting a player making more than him for any length of time. Point being...StL could have 40% of its payroll ($100M target per DeWallett) tied up in 2 players beginning in '10. This could be a nightmare in terms of payroll flexibility in 3 years with a couple of aging players.
