I listened to the interview and was surprised by how candid he was on all issues. Bottom line, he wants to win in Chicago and is passionate about it similar to how Big Z talks. I'll take that attitude any day over the standard canned baseball player interview with the press always trying to say the PC things. These guys bring it everyday. Unfortunately, Eyre can't hit or field.

Abreu doesn't do it for me. He is in the "suspect" category of inflated numbers from a few years ago...GM's know this. I'm all for getting Prior healthy and finishing 06 strong, then trading him in the off season for a couple of everyday players, possibly a few of the talented group for theDodgers (Either, Kemp, etc...). Rumors are that he doesn't want to be in Chicago anyway.

In general - we all agree they suck. My prediction for the radio show tonight is that WGN will allow pre-screened softball questions for Hendry. End result: we find out what we already know - despite how bad they suck, NOTHING will happen.

I'd love to hear Prior's reason for this "freak injury". Probably bending over for something...

Prior must have a legitamate injury. Dusty's fighting for his job and the ace is hurt. I doubt he's out just to sit out and rest. I'd trade Prior in heartbeat. I'm just sick of hearing the potential upside. Be a man and pitch every start. Maddux has missed 1 start in his entire career due to injury. Amen.

Agreed. Cubs brass are showing ineptitude by not making a decision on direction they wish to go. Thye would get more respect by fans if they decide to eihter - develop young players w/ a mix of solid veterans - or blow it up. Either way, Dusty's skills (or lack thereof) doesn't fit the bill.

In general - trading Big Z for 2 everyday ML's and 2 top prospects would be ok if we had different management in place. I lack total confidence in the management to put a plan together to develop prospects if Crusty is still here.
