  1. Forfeit Lineups............ is that a new term?? I haven't heard it before but that is the best way to describe some of them................sadly. :) He means baker line-ups. . Pierre Perez Walker Aram Jones Blanco Bynum Pagan additionally, you got this from pirates of the caribbean, didn't you? Admit it.
  2. I've always been a supporter of Rich Hill. I think I'm gonna download his aug 26th game (against st. louis). Yes I'm paying $4 to see rich hill pitch. God I need ST to start soon. ouch. .
  3. Freudian slip? 8-)
  4. Ever hear of a game thread? I'd like to add that the spectacle currently playing itself out on the field is an affront to the sport of football. It's cirque du soleil, and I love them. But I understand where you're coming from if your a diehard football fan.
  5. My pick to win the NL central this year. . . The Chicago Cubs.
  6. yeah, I didn't pay as much attention last year. Will comcast start focusing on the cubs alot once the pitchers and C's report? Such as have small segments on them in their 1 hour show?
  7. Perhaps this isn't available to chicagoins? I've noticed anyone watching has been in KY, or NC. No "IL" watchers yet.
  8. Bruce, you think the fact that all they had for 1B when dlee went down was macias/blanco/mabry (until they aquired nevin) is one of the reasons why they went after such a good bench this year? They found out 1st hand how having a lacking bench can really hurt last year. And I beleive Ward and Floyd coupled with Theroit and whoever else is a GOOD bench. If Lee has to miss a week at any point Ward at 1B sure looks better than anything we had out there last year. . I'd say you've got this sized up pretty well. Remember, too, that Walker had to play some first base. Yeah, true. But Walker wasn't meant as a 1B backup. You've gotta remember, when Walker went to 1B, you had to throw out Neifi at 2B, and that was ugly. .
  9. welcome to 3 posts ago ZOMG!!
  10. Me please!! (I hope I get rich hill)
  11. how much longer is this "league" or compitition? I'd actually upgrade for this, as I'm sure there would be other benifits later. If it's not much longer I'll just wait until spring training. .
  12. I wish they would have stuck it out with Nomar another year, too, but I understand why they didn't. Yes, finding a position for him was probably a factor besides the fact the Cubs didn't really get their money's worth the 2 previous years. We couldn't have predicted Cedeno would end up being as bad as he was. I was penciling him into RF, with a move to 1st being perfect for him when Lee got hurt. Jones/Murton in left would have been a good platoon last year with Nomar in RF. I don't wish to dwell on that, however. Hendry does deserve kudos for getting Murton in that deal. I never said he didn't deserve it. Yeah, I wish they would have kept Nomar, too. What a joy to be around. He really treated us media members well, probably because of his experience in Boston. I went up to him a couple times last year, and he was a true gentleman. In hindsight, he would have fit perfectly at first base when D-Lee got hurt, but who knew? Bruce, you think the fact that all they had for 1B when dlee went down was macias/blanco/mabry (until they aquired nevin) is one of the reasons why they went after such a good bench this year? They found out 1st hand how having a lacking bench can really hurt last year. And I beleive Ward and Floyd coupled with Theroit and whoever else is a GOOD bench. If Lee has to miss a week at any point Ward at 1B sure looks better than anything we had out there last year. .
  13. I'll chime in with this. I would much rather have Daisuke over lilly/marquis. . So I agree with BBB here. . It would have been a better way to build a much stronger team for this year and beyond. . Because. . Zambrano Daisuke Hill 3 good top of the rotation starters. Even if Hill doesn't put up stellar #'s. You have Prior, Miller, Guzman, Marshall that could compete for the 4th and 5th slots. We have so much depth at Sp that I think it would have been more effective to get 1 REALLY good SP as opposed to 2 mediocre ones. . In other words, as long as our #1 and #2 are really good. We have enough guys to fill out the final spots. . Zambrano Daisuke Hill Prior -or- Miller Guzman -or- Marshall -or- other ST suprise. But I still feel overall we will see some good #'s from the cubs starting rotation staff once everything is sorted out. .
  14. I'm not sure, but it's a good problem to have. The team has left no depth behind players like Prior and Miller for years (with Wood being Miller now), and now that they have depth, the question becomes what happens if everyone is healthy. I hope the result though of that question is that whoever is pitching worse, Miller or Marquis, gets sent to the bullpen and becomes the long man. I agree. I wecome that this year. Instead of not having anything after wood and prior went down (or never went up depending how you look at it) I like that we have to have discussions like. . Well, what if Hill, Prior, and Miller are all pitching good? My answer is. Don't even worry about it and be happy!
  15. I have the middle one. Silver? HD channels, mid level package. Sucks, I wouldn't mind seeing ronny play. Atleast it's sorta like watching cubs baseball.
  16. "channel not purchased" . .
  17. Whipped, allergic to superior technology, or both? Figures. This is spectacular news.....Kerry...you get this fixed and I'd consider supporting you for President....or better yet...get this fixed, and Don't run for president...let someone who can actually win have a chance. Excuse me, but Kerry actually won in 2004. He had the election stolen from him just like Gore before him. BTW He's already said he's not running anyway. I don't blame him after the injustice that was done to him, and all of america on that day. :-({|= Well, other than the fact that you are wrong on every level I agree with you. Bush won in 2000 Bush won in 2004 Get over it. Get a history book. That's right. Bush can win when the chairwoman of his campain is also in charge of the vote count, halts the vote in florida when 179,855 have not yet been counted. Did you know that? Did you read that in one of yoru history books? They did it again in Ohio. Corruption happens in politicts. Get over it. See Moore, this is why we don't bring up politics here. Well I'll stop now, I'm outta this thread.

  19. i would have trouble watching a basketball game even if i were paid to do so. it's right up there with soccer & hockey in my book. I don't like, nor watch college. But since I've got HD and the bulls have been doing well, I have enjoyed watching their games. .
  20. I just wanna see and hear the cubs again. And I am excited that 14 ST games will be telecast, along with 10 radiocast by wgn. I wonder if Len and Bob will be doing that TV games and Pat and Ron the radio ST games?
  21. If you plan on being or are a DirecTV customer, IMO, go with the EI package. You will be able to see HD baseball on ESPN/ESPN2 and INHD1 (subscription required). MLB.TV is an alternative to those who will not go with DirecTV or want to watch via broadband. So really, all of those other (EI) channels will be standard def. I'm paying $150 to watch tons of standard def baseball. Even in cases where the home team might broadcast in HD, I'll still get standard?
  22. Whipped, allergic to superior technology, or both? Now since I only played with it and didn't go too deep, what makes it superior? Well, I really don't hail DTV over all else all the time. Infact I would prefer Dish, RIGHT NOW. Because of the HD selection, and DVR without massive bugs. however, in my area. It (DTV) gets BOTH wgn-HD and Comcastsportsnet HD so I can basically watch ALL cubs home games in HD. Half of the cubbie games I watch will be in HD. Dish carries neither wgn-hd OR comcast HD. And also the fact that later this year DTV will probably have more HD channels than any other provider. They are getting tons, CNN-HD, Sci-fi HD, so many that didn't already exist on voom are probably going to be exclusive to DTV for several months while the other providers play catch-up, and try to strike deals. .
  23. They took of the one where Lou throws the base, and also there was another one, now gone. But it looks like someone uploaded a video of lou at the cubs caravan. SCORE!! (not sure if it was the CC, but it was jan-17th upload date on it)
  24. Question is now, should I go for it? I'm getting either mlb.tv or EI, not both. With mlb atleast I can watch replays or even a really cool inning over and over if I wanted to. So now I need to decide if I should just try out EI instead. Anyone know if I'd get any other games in HD with the package?
  25. how much is extra innings. like $149.99?
