  1. Haha that's exactly what went through my head. "Wood out 5-10 days after a nest of bees attack throwing arm". I take solice in the fact that wood looks as dorky as I do, avoiding a bee.
  2. 1 - I think they were mostly kidding around about that...although I wouldn't be too surprised to see him cut it anyway after hearing his own comments. 2 - I'm pretty sure that was from the first day of workouts. ;) He actually did get a haircut, I saw the "new" smardzy on ctribune live or wgn news at noon one day with his new cut. His hair looks curlier and all over the place when short. But it's shorter, and I think it's a better look for him. Yes I am a man comfortable in my own manhood. 8-)
  3. I have been pleasantly surprised. I haven't been pleasantly suprised. That's because I don't always assume the worst. ::pats self on the back::. 8-)
  4. So how does it feel like to feel like me all the time? LOL.
  5. And I don't see Soriano hitting anywhere other than leadoff. There is little chance that Soriano WON'T be hitting leadoff, we all know that. I just wonder where he would make the most impact - leading off or hitting 5th. Either place, he will be productive - but what is best for the team? Jones isn't a 5 hitter, Floyd is (when healthy - and what are the chances?). I'm just throwing it out there. What do you think the most effective lineup would be - that one or this one: RF Soriano 2B DeRosa/Theriot 1B Lee 3B Ramirez CF Jones CA Barrett LF Murton SS Izturis i like murton/jones/barrett for 5-7. then you dont have to move anyone else when floyd starts, put murts OBP in front of jones SLG. Plus I think those automated line-up creators like putting OBP, SLG, OBP SLG, because it prob ends up giving you the most production. So OBP Murtin in front of SLG Jones is good. Then you have a very good hitter still near the end of your order. .
  6. 5 minutes of live video, is like a THOUSAND pictures or something. Good find. Thanks!!
  7. BBB, could you shorten that please? It's stretching my screen. .
  8. so the key to winning games is to not have good players...i'm on board! i mean, if the phillies got better after dumping abreu, imagine how good they'd have been if they dumped howard! or howard and utley! I think he's trying to say, sometimes dumping ONE player not hurt so much. And in case the talent we get is so high, it might be a good move. But overall that was a stupid thing to say. .
  9. I like Chocolate Milk. Not the poster but I like Chocolate Milk. Hardy-har har. :P 8-)
  10. I'm a bigger cubs fan than all of you, so you've got to multiply my post count by, around 5. So I've got most of you beat.
  11. I'll pass, I'd rather play roto. A New Era/GilesBros, you want in, then? Yes. Sorry I haven't been following this thread I've been trying to create a new league. But I'm in. Please let me know as soon as you see this.
  12. 2007 Spring Training CAPTIONS ADDED!!! (a few pictures too) thread
  13. It wasn't his stuff that was a problem when he came up to the majors though-it was his control. If he gets better control, he could be effective even at 89-90 with all the movement on his pitches. I've never really been that big of a Miller fan. I see him as a slightly better version of Marquis but can't pitch because he hasn't been healthy. That's a poor comparison. I'm a poor man. That's a poor man's retort.
  14. Possible arm injury? What was he doing in the bathroom? Ok I realize I shouldn't have said that). .
  15. Cheapseats, sounds good. Balsa, I'll let you know. I'd really like to try HTH but I gotta check out yahoo and just see what the difference is.
  16. Only on NSBB and cubs.com can prior taking longer to warm up be a red flag. I wouldn't be suprised if he took longer in the bathroom and it would cause an uproar. . "Prior takes longer than teammates to releive himself. Possible arm injury the cause".
  17. Yeah I agree. He could go out an perform well and shut some of these critics up. But right NOW, none of them will say it is in ANY WAY possible. Just like they did for Jones. They had him not batting above .250 with an OBP not at .300. Yeah, that bet that somebody made to give everybody something if Jones accomplished certain marks came a little closer than he wanted, although by the last week he was safe. :D That was me. I stand by that bet. It took a career season to make it close. And for the record, I fully expect Jason Marquis to be Shawn Estes level bad. Wanna. . . . . BET!? What is Shawn Estes bad anyway?
  18. You know why I think so? Hard head. But there's more to that. He has given pause to think that he "takes" to a coach at first, then starts to be stubborn and losses his interest in that coach. Then he moves on and gets a man crush on his "new coach". . And then performs well again. That's why I think Jason will have a great/good 1-2 years. And I'm stickin to why I think so. .
  19. Yeah I agree. He could go out an perform well and shut some of these critics up. But right NOW, none of them will say it is in ANY WAY possible. Just like they did for Jones. They had him not batting above .250 with an OBP not at .300.
  20. I kinda liked the "towel drill" reference. Yeah so did I. The first time I heard it. In 2004. I meant, as in how it refers to this "new incident". Slipping out of a hot tub. There are towels in a bath room. GET IT!? A HAAA!! 8-)
  21. Jason Marquis had a great first full year for braves and cardinals. Jason Marquis had "good" 2nd full seaons for braves and cardinals. .
  22. Please don't do that. Every year you do that, do you realize you've just cursed the cubs!?
  23. I think that's just as he was saying "cubs swagger". . Look at it. Cubs . . . Ssssss (wager). .
  24. how dare you guys shamelessly post "I" "B" "L" just to increase your post count. . IBL!
  25. I'd pay him. Simply because we really needed him and I don't wan't to go through a "rebuilding" year. Simply because we haven't made it to the post season for far too long. .
