  1. Didn't Bruce say his defense looked wonderful so far this spring? Let's say Cedeno struggles and Theriot can't handle SS, what options do the Cubs actually have to replace Izturis if he is hitting 220? Tomas Perez!!!!!!!!!!!! His initials aren't TP for no reason! You mean he's an Indian living in a teepee? TP for-l-lt my . . . Oh nevermind.
  2. There's one to quote. "Missing bunts is good dude".
  3. Oh Gerald Perry will help this team walk more. There is no doubt about that. Just look at the man's history. Some time this season, mid-season we will all be talking about how much the cubs walk, and how much better at the plate they look. And we'll be crediting Gerald Perry for it. .
  4. He may have looked angry at the time, but he did it for the good of mankind. Do you know how many people around the world he made smile that day? Plus, roast mean he is generally kind and happy to CUBS fans. A.J. is completely moot to the point.
  5. Stop nitpicking. The key is always putting the ball in play. Juan Pierre just hit very weakly. When DLee puts "a ball in play", that is much different than a "pierre ball" put into play. . Putting the ball in play for the sake of putting the ball in play is never a good thing, no matter if it's Pierre, Derrek Lee, or Barry Bonds. Therefore, putting the ball in play should never be anyone's "key" to anything. Fortunately, I don't think Perry said any such thing nor do I think he believes any such thing. Yeah I guess you're right about that. However my point is why nitpick every little thing some guy (or carrie muskat interpreted) said? Gerald Perry is gonna be good. Because he has improved teams dramatically in the past. Don't worry about nitpicking a silly sentence because he didn't (or she didn't) say it exactly how you wanted him to say it. Sheesh. We nitpick around here too much. And Yes I realize I'm NITPICKING about that.
  6. This year MLB.TV will show over 150 games. If you just take ALL the teams, devide by half (teams facing eacthother) and only add up the # of fridays, sat. and sundays in march. You'll get well over 150. And the Cubs games are already being broadcast on the weekends mainly. I'm in the same boat as balsa. Now according to Laura, XM radio will be airing alot of the games NOT on Wgn/comcast TV or wgn radio. So that would be the way to go. .
  7. Ofcourse he is! He's Matt *freakin* Murton!

  9. Yay! Perry is good!!
  10. The original thread was why is Finley being mentioned as a possible Cub (or something like that) and it has since been changed to reflect the signing. Yeah I see what you mean. It sounds weird though, even to those who understand it.
  11. It had everything to do with it. If the question is brought up, ofcourse someone like JH will say. Naw Naw, we at first were gonna hold him back but then Prior came in and said he felt good. So we just changed our minds. But the reality of it is, it had everything to do with how the media reacted. .
  12. Cobs. We can only hope. Can we stop calling them the cobs? Do they deserve that now? Or do they have to go win the 90 games first.
  13. I see Barrett being very apt to do this sort of thing. I'm not sure why, he just seems to love it here enough to try and make things work out. (at least i hope so :D ) I've seen many videos where Barret says he loves being a cub, more than anything else. And this is not typical derrek lee or carlos zambrano stuff. Barret gets gushy.
  14. Is it REALLY required to quote the very first post of the thread, when you are post #2?
  15. Seconded. All in favor? Ay! eye.
  16. I'd like to take this time to say. . I don't give a flying shaq-fu what's going on in san shaq-fu'ing fran sis-shaq-fu-sco. . :D
  17. That should probably be reversed to say "Miller and Wood" since Miller's on the left and Wood's on the right. Once again the operator of the web site I got pictures from seems to have Miller and Wood backwards. Yesterday he had a picture of Miller, but the caption said Wood. Maybe he should LEARN WHO IS WHO!!
  18. Ok we get it amazing grace. You think Prior is injured, the cubs lie to us, and it's your pet peeve.
  19. So what you I be doing (buying) if I want to catch most ST games that are not on WGN or comcast? I can subscribe to XM or mlb.tv but not both. I just really like following the cubs ST.
  20. I don't know, but I'd deffinatly be interested if it carried atleast a handful of ST games from the OTHER team when they happen to play the cubs. As it is now we get mostly fri, sat, and sun. . However if you just add up the teams and show weekend games I'm sure you could reach the #150. So it's unlikely probably. .
  21. Which one is which? LOL. They need to switch that around. It's Miller and Wood. .
  22. Probably some old rich guy who paid for the priveledge to put on a uniform with the fellas. .
  23. 89 mph is being kind. Reporters are saying he didn't reach the mid 80's If you read carefully it said when he was pitching last year. It didn't really say what his velocity is right now. .
  24. :lmao: He'd take Lou, and break him over his knee.
