  1. "GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FIRST POST." 670 the score radio I know at noon every day Mike Murphy talkes about the cubs ALOT. He focuses on the cubs mostly because he is a cubs fan. People will tell you he is stupid and a moron. But I find that unfair. He is just a crazy cubs fan. Maybe not stupid and a moron, but he finds these little details and blows them up into a holy crusade. I've never seen a guy who can take something as minor as which foot a guy led off first base with, and turn it into an hour of ranting and raving about why the manager should be fired. It's patently ridiculous at times. That said, I still listen to him, so Murph wins. Mike Murphy is ignorant and awful. He knows nothing. He's a knee-jerk, conventional wisdom spouting idiot. His is far and away the worst radio show I've ever heard. His opinions and questions are consistently dumb. He's an embarrasment. I wish he weren't a Cubs fan. He makes us all seem stupid by association. Hey, chill out. Atleast he's nice to cubs fans. I don't know about you but I never disagree with whoever he is spouting on about (MacPhail, Hendry, ect. .)
  2. Zambrano in a deal for ARod would be a no-brainer to me. Zambrano helps every 5th game. ARod helps every day. But overall I'd prefer to keep Big Z. That's what Banedon thinks. Think the Yanks would do zamb for arod mid season? They NEED picthing. They've already got the offense. So I'm wondering if that's something they'd do.
  3. April 21. Vs. st. louis. .
  4. No, deffinatly not on the net. But if you want the video and like to "see and hear" things for yourself. Those channels I posted would be great.
  5. "GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR FIRST POST." I haven't figured out the best times to listen to which but. Move around between. . 720 am wgn radio 670 the score radio 1000 espn 1000 radio. I know at noon every day Mike Murphy talkes about the cubs ALOT. He focuses on the cubs mostly because he is a cubs fan. People will tell you he is stupid and a moron. But I find that unfair. He is just a crazy cubs fan. BTW they have some video on WGN TV right now. WGN news at noon. They shows smardzija and hill. And an interview with Eyre. . Watch Chicago Tribune Live on comcast sports net every day and you'll hear alot of cubs stuff. And WGN news probably will have some stuff. They just said they'll have piniella on later tonite on wgn news. . http://www.comcastsportsnet.com will have 30 second clips every once in awhile now that training camp has started. That's all I can think of. .
  6. Remember guys, Carlos reads the messege boards. Micheal Barret told us that. So try to say some nice things about Carlos Zambrano. . "Um Carlos. TheGilesBros likes Zambrano. Will Zambrano stay with the Cubs for TheGilesBros? Thank you."
  7. Exciting end of the game. Too bad they didn't win. Get gasol.
  8. What if the "juiciest" return is what experts would consider below value? Then the Cubs are screwed in the long run either way. A long, expensive deal for Z is not gonna be worth what he's expecting. I don't think that's possible though. Think about it. A big market high offense team in the hunt would REALLY like a guy like Z, even if for just the 1 year, to push them over the top. The Mets could really use some pitching. .
  9. fixed I was gonna do that too.
  10. +1 You can add me in as well. You agree to terms for this year and trade him this year? Alot of things are going to have to go right in the pitching department for that to not really hit us. Prior and Miller are both going to have to be healthy, and Hill has to be good. I realize Smardzija might be coming up soon but everything has to go just right to not need Zambrano to make it this year. .
  11. Why did Ramirez take about $3 mil less than he could have probably got? I guess he just loves the cubs more than Zammy $o$o.
  12. I always thought Carlos "loved the Cubs". . Hasn't he been quoted saying many things about loving it here and playing for the cubs? He just doesn't seem like the same guy lately with his comments recently.
  13. Good, let that animal killing, heartless bastard go elsewhere :x (end over-reacting response). .
  14. Plus Colonel Sanders was a really loyal to dark helmet. I've got a solution. Sign Zambrano to 7 years $20 million per, but have absolutely NO no trade clause in it. If you've got some guys who step up pitching wise, then you can trade him in a couple of years to someone with a big wallet and alot of prospects. .
  15. Is it just me or is Zambrano sounding a little erogant (not in a good way) lately? "I'm ready to sign, and I would do my job anyway with the Cubs this year," Zambrano said. "Whatever happens, I don't want to know [anything] about a contract during the season. I want to sign with the Cubs before the season starts. If they don't sign me, sorry, but I must go. That's what Carlos Zambrano thinks." Talking about himself in the first person? "[Cubs general manager] Jim [Hendry] spent a lot of money. I hope he has more for 'Big Z.'" Don't get me wrong I've always loved Big Z. I love his "attitude" and flare out there on the mound. But some of the things he's said lately is sounding really prima donna to me. And I'm starting to sour on his whole attitude right now.
  16. Imagine if Prior was healthy too... Imagine if our payroll was at/around $150 million. and promised to stay there. Then we could actually afford it. . Well sure, any team that ups their salary by 30M will be able to keep a 20M pitcher. In other news, water is wet. Well I'm not the one bringing up Zambrano, Santana, and Prior all in the same rotation. :?:
  17. Oh he does? ::reads::
  18. Do you guys think we'll get gasol? I can only go by what I hear on the radio but. . He's an inside threat and scorer, complimenting the bulls outside scoring. . He rebounds well, he and wallace add up to some nice rebounding #'s. . What have you all been hearing and reading about it? I heard today on the radio that the grizzely's really would like to move him. .
  19. I agree 100% with you on this, Tim. I'm not against the Cubs trading anyone on this roster, but when it comes to Z there has to be a long-term deal, or a trade. If it's the trade it better blow your socks off. Yeah, I pretty much agree with this also. It's got to be a STELLAR package. If we can get that, I'm for trading zambrano. Otherwise, sign him. But I hope to gosh he loves the cubs and can give us a considerable good deal at or around 15-16 mil per for about 5 years. .
  20. Imagine if Prior was healthy too... Imagine if our payroll was at/around $150 million. and promised to stay there. Then we could actually afford it. .
  21. Others are more than welcome to do this, and then post it. :P My eyes started to cross after a while, so I really have no motivation to input the away dates. Well Okaaaay. If you just want a B+, that is fiiiine.
  22. Marshall for Cabrera. DO IT!!
  23. Who's trading bedard straight up for Z? EDIT. Who HAS us trading bedard straight up for Z?
  24. I'd rather keep the guys we've got coming up. Not because santana isn't awesome. But because it will simply STRIP our farm of any of the rest of the decent talent we have coming up in the next 3-4 years. .
  25. I think we are just fine going with Jones in RF and Sori in CF. And if Pie is tearing it up in the minors then he can get a call up mid season and replace jones in RF for just 1 half a year and trade jones for something decent. Then hopefully work it out with Sori and switch him to RF and promise him that is his spot to stay for the remainder of the contract and Pie is CF. I think they should talk to Sori about the possibility of moving to RF next year early so he knows what might in in store for him and the Cubs as they move foward. .
