  1. Wow, that doesnt sound like Eyre... I know, it honestly doesn't. Who the heck is that? (I wish I could see video cause it doesn't sound like him one bit).
  2. Dempster said he could take piniella incase he had a "bullpen scuffle". .
  3. Kap told waddle has a chance to become a cubs fan. "This is gonna be a special year for chicago cubs fans". . Lots of cheers.
  4. starting. .
  5. I'm hoping he projects as a starter. We could use a few good men in the rotation.
  6. at 7:00 p.m. the live internet feed said "10 minutes after the news". . So that means start time would be at 7:10 p.m.
  7. Well I was hoping mine would become the thread, but I will post my last post here. . . Common guys! It's only a few hours away now! Starting at 7:00 p.m. we will get to hear PAT and RON again! Aren't you ready to hear them again!! 7:00 - Dempster, new Cub Derosa, and Eyre: should be funny 7:30 - Hendry, Piniella (will he promise a WS as he reportidly did at the caravan), Good 'ol radio guys Ron Santo and Pat Hughes (I can't wait to hear what Ron thinks about the 07 Cubs.) 8:00 - Talk to the big bats, Derrek Lee, new cub Alphonso Soriano, and Michael Barret 8:30 - Pitcher talk with Wood, Prior (will he finally contribute again?) , Zambrano, and new cub Ted Lilly I'll record these if anyone has webspace. However within 24 hours they will probably be available anyway.
  8. Let's hope for the best, (and no pitcher abuse). Because by 2009 we could be back to having a top rotation again. . Zambrano Samardzija Hill Prior Veal

  10. 10 games, spread throughout March at about each 4-5 days. http://www.wgnradio.com/sports/cubsspring2007.htm That, with 10 Comcast Televised games, and 4 WGN televised games. I hope too many of them don't overlap.
  11. More good news for the cubs. First Prior throwing off the mound, now this.
  12. So many differing oppinions. I take it the "stripes" are main, and the "blue's" are alternative right? I just personally like the blues alot. Something about when you are the home team, you get to have the "bright colorful" uni while the visiting team has to have a dull drab (usually mainly grey outfit) color. Like most teams, red, orange, blue, ect. . The Cubs are a "blue" team. And I like the dark striking blue shirts. Not that the stripes are ugly (I didn't mean it mojo) .
  13. What!? Those jerseys ARE the Cubs. To me, the pinstripes have always been "the alternatives" (and fugly ones at that). . You're completely, utterly and totally wrong three different times in that statement, and on as many levels as is humanly possibly, plus a few made up just for kicks. The Blue's look awesome. The Pinstripes look so simple and basic. Mean it's basically just WHITE with tiny teeny little blue stripes on it. What is the Cubs color? BLUE. Therefore I feel the home uni's should be mostly BLUE, not mostly WHITE. So there!! :P The blue's just look so awesome. .
  14. What!? Those jerseys ARE the Cubs. To me, the pinstripes have always been "the alternatives" (and fugly ones at that). . BLUE . . . . . Pinstripes . . fugly grey road jerseys for me too
  15. You know what sucks. Alphonso Soriano doesn't have any quick two syllable way of saying it so we can't get a chant going if he becomes our best offensive player. Closest I can think is, AL-PHON-SO, AL-PHON-SO.
  16. he never said that part. I thought that was pretty out there for him to say (atleast) THAT part. .
  17. PECOTA predicts. . Alfonso Soriano .287/.349/.569 He's batting lead-off, that is set. And his #'s at lead-off carreer wise are very good. Pointing to good OBP. So it's not crazy to think Soriano is going to have a great year as a Cub.
  18. I'm so used to seeing the names on that it has become "part" of a baseball uniform. So I prefer them on. And what's so cool about having to remember faces? I know the names of all of the Cubs players whether they have their names on or don't. I don't need the Cubs to sacrifice a classic look just to give me a daily quiz test.
  19. That's really awesome. And I mean it. When Spring Training starts I REALLY want to listen or watch the game. Now we'll all beable to watch many more games starting in March. I wonder if radio broadcasts will be increased a bit? If so we could be seeing 3-4 games a week as opposed to 1-2.
  20. Yes, THANK YOU. Now guys please stop arguing, you both agree on the same thing. Sheesh!
  21. Double good. Tripple BAM BAM bazooie good.
  22. Yeah I posted this earlier. I can't wait what he has to say at the Cubs Convention this weekend. Yeah me either. I thought it was kinda fishy Mark was on the radio interview guest list. I thought if he's not doing so good then why would they subject him to the public and media? They were probably saving this as a positive suprise for cubs fans.
  23. I wasn't around when Corey left so please don't automatically assume I thought the same about Corey. However Corey had every reason not to like it here his last year. I wouldn't like it there, and I'm a diehard cubs fan. I'll tell you what though. I'm going to continue to feel that way about Prior until I see him in a post game interview with a smile on his face. If you're not smiling, your not happy.
  24. Do what? $140? At how many years? I personally think he Loves the Cubs and that he would accept 5yr/$16mil per. Or maybe 6yr/$16mil per.
