  1. Vance was that you asking the question at "meet cubs management"? There was a "Vance" there. BTW wgnradio.com has Saturday's audio now. TALES FROM THE BULLPEN if freakin hilarious!! lee Smith is hilarious. So is everybody in this interview.
  2. =D> =D> =D> I guess since Muskat has not asked you to remove derogatory posts about her we can continue calling her Muskat. Maybe we can mix it up a little, like God Muskat damn. . btw - I have reason to believe that Carrie's been here in the past. OTOH, I'm pretty sure it's not worth God's time to see what people are saying about Him here. And I'd hope that He's got a pretty thick skin about such things. I've never understood why He would be put out by mere mortals using his name in vain, anyway. It seems so petty. If you were all powerful, would you care?!? I meant that post in levity. Sure cursing offends me, but if we can curse we should beable to say Muskat, or atleast say it without someone making a huge deal about it. It's not a filthy word, just a childish name. Cursing offends me more than seeing someone spout a bad nickname like Muskat, or Jock (whom I like). . So if we are allowed to offend the "beleivers", we should continue to beable to make up childish nicknames for Muskrats sake!!

  4. It's a sickness. I'm in full-on craving baseball mode right now. I thought the Bears might keep the baseball cravings down some, but it's not really helping. I know my cravings will return, but they have not. The combination of the Bears in the Super Bowl and the Cubs hitting rock bottom last year has cooled my spring fever a bit. By Feb 6 however, I expect to be in full Cubs anticipation mode. I feel the same way. After the debacle that was the 2006 season, and with the Bears doing so well, I haven't been craving all things Cubs like I have in the past. I'm excited for the season to start, but I haven't been obsessed about what the Cubs are doing like years before. I'm the opposite right now. Starting in (around) october 2005 (the offseason), I've been a die-hard cubs fan. (look at my register date). . Before then I was always a cubs fan, but I didn't even watch every game. Well in 2005 that was different. And I've been full on die-hard ever since. I just can't get enough cubs!! And ofcourse I am VERY happy with the way the team looks now. Best it has been since 2004!!

You guys make me want a cigerette. :D Talking about "cravings", sheesh. :P
  6. Zambrano Prior Lilly Hill Marquis/Miller/* that would be acceptable.
  7. What a bench we'd have if we got both Ward and Floyd. I'm rooting for one of them to have a great year. If not, oh well. They'd be great bench players none the less.
  8. Well alot of (well i should say "some") people who didn't like lou at first did say a few times that lou also abused pitchers. But really from everything he has said it seems like he won't let the pitcher pitch too many pitches. Which is great. With dusty it seemed like he said he'd let the pitcher show signs of slowing down, that was his way of telling when a pitcher was ready to come out.
  9. Was that during "meet cubs management" with Jim and Lou? Or another segment because I know they appeared in a different one together. And the "meet cubs management" one is the one that will be DL'able on wgnradio.com. .
  10. down on the farm segment? Someone please clarify.
  11. Wow, thanks for that. Listening from the radio feed. It clearly sounds like HHH(click)hHESTeRberRRRAY.
  12. This doesn't make sense. If soriano is playing CF it's because were are not gonna play Pie yet and we will have Jones in right. It absolutely makes sense. Soriano has said he wants one position and to be left there. Putting him in CF now and moving him to RF when Pie arrives is silly. Making him learn two new positions is not best for Soriano or the team's defense. I guarantee you Jones plays a better CF right now than Soriano does. Pie leaves them both in the dust. Well maybe you can take it to mean he doesn't want to be shuffled out throughout the season? Think about it. Did anybody strictly ask him "would you be ok with playing one spot all year, then maybe next year, a different position in the OF". .

  14. damn, taped. Yeah at about the 9-10 mark they on WGN radio were talking ABOUT the convention going on, and piniella answering questions (BTW guys he mentioned Soriano in CF and Jones staying in RF a possibility). Oh well what ya gonna do.
  15. Where the heck is the cubs convention part 2? I clearly set the comp on overnight, audacity to record, recorded successfully. There is no convention at the 9:00 a.m. mark, or anywhere inbetween. .
  16. Here is the audio of the rude fan. repeated 10 times for those of you that have shoddy repeat like me. . Started to sound like ESTER RAY, or HIS-TOR-AY. http://members.aol.com/erickrpg/Prior.mp3
  17. Wondering that myself. It appears he made a rude comment towards Prior as one of the MC's said.."There is one in every crowd" Prior went on to say in the interview that he "sucked" last year and is making changes to improve this year and go back to what he was. Ted Lilly sounds like an accountant. Glad he is not paid to conduct steller interviews! After Kap or Waddle asked, can you tell us about how your feeling and your progress as you get ready for the new season. During the pause, some guy shouted something that sounded like (and I have been repeating it several times and I still can't decipher it). . "Esterberain". . Or a long "EssTRRRbRRAIN" If anyone wants to try, please go ahead. God this is like breaking a code.
  18. Samardzija press conf now on cubs.com. Thanks for the list of players BTW. How many in the last 5 years do you honestly think were up there in talent in the Wood/Hill/Willis/Garland pool. 10, 20, 30? I don't think it's that high, is it?
  19. They have the samardzija press conference on cubs.com now. It wasn't there at first, and with all the cubs convention hoopla, it's easy to miss the fact there was a press conference, and it was recorded. ::watching now::. .
  20. Do you want the list of guys who made it to the majors and didn't live up to the hype or guys who were hyped but never made it to the majors? Believe me, there's plenty of both over the past few years. The list of pitchers who have been as highly rated as smardzija, hill, and veal. That is all. How likely is it we'll have 2 that pan out, out of this list. . Hill, Smardzija, Veal, Gallagher, Palewek.
  21. Hey, remember when we signed Lilly and Marquis? Good times. Tradable. You telling me if Zambrano, Prior, and Hill are locked up and pitching like they can. And 2 great prospects are ready to pitch in the majors, that JH seriously couldn't trade a couple of pitchers? Call me a pessimist but I don't think JH will be the one calling the shots by then. I'm sure every fan that predicts their team's rotation down the line has their team trading the crap pitchers that will be under control and signing the good ones that currently arent signed through then. Well, you can't deny we have some good pitching prospects getting close. Atleast 1 or 2 of them has to pan out (hill included) And you can't deny we have been saying that for years and have had much better prospects historically. Im sorry, I need to quit being Debby Downer. I haven't really been paying much attention to the cubs the last several years. I've only been back full time, full die-hard the last couple of years. So I can't compare to before. Who did we have other than zambrano, prior, and wood who looked like top prospects?

  24. Jim really likes Smardzija. I'm glad they gave it mention at the convention. .
  25. Wow, that doesnt sound like Eyre... I know, it honestly doesn't. Who the heck is that? (I wish I could see video cause it doesn't sound like him one bit). Ohh, I didn't mean like that...I just meant Eyre and working out. I meant it like it really doesn't sound (like his voice). .
