  1. Now that you guys are talking about it, Suppan does sound like a good option. How come none of you brought him up when we were all saying how bad lilly and meche were, as an alternative (not saying I disagree). . But it's funny I haven't heard us discuss suppan much, if at all, before this. .
  2. Beat that cancer!! Die Cancer!!
  3. I'm feeling the pain. I bet if you were at their hotel you would be having a blast :-). If nothing else you could just sit at the bar and harass every GM that walked by  Except the GMs stay in their suites for the majority of the time (they have beer delivered to them). that just keeps making me wonder.. what Jim is doing right now? Waiting for his donuts to be delivered? :D .. . sorry.
  4. Yep. At that pace, a Modzilla sighting is not far off. Do not speak that name aloud! I have no desire to face death today. MOZIRRA!!
  5. International Bible Study? No, but something that is so painful, that you whimper in pain, and wish to go to the emergency room.
  6. Not funny. I have that. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!
  7. Yeah, tell me about it. So why haven't we traded Hill yet to further degrade our pitching staff?
  8. that's good. Murton is the real deal. He's one of the few I'd hate to see not in a cubs uniform.
  9. Mr. Stone. Paging Mr. Stone, you have a telephone call. .
  10. Common sense would say that Bonds would go DH somewhere and an AL team would take advatage of that. What do the Yanks have for DH? The Yankees are set at DH with Giambi, who apparently is never going to play 1B again from what I've been reading... NEXT! I'm tellin you guyz. It's the angels. No need to speculate furtherz!!
  11. Hmm, bonds still wants to play. Angels wanted to go after ram, OR soriano, we got both. Now A's need O depserately. I predict Bonds to Angels.
  12. Gonna be getting a Wii tommorow. Otherwise I'd be interested. Don't know why I bothered saying that.
  13. You're right. Z Lilly Hill Westbrook Miller won't contend in the NL central at all next year, with. Soriano Murton Lee Ramirez Jones Barret Derosa Izturis  You can roll your eyes all you want. But that team is maybe a .500 team. If everything breaks right they could contend for the division. But with a top 5 payroll I expect more. Where did you come up with this briliant conclusion? Can you see the future? If you can, might I give it a shot? Hill will rise up and become an ace. Miller will suprise everybody and become way above average. See it works both ways. I can make absurd assumptions as well. .
  14. He's better than Gil Meche. Ted Lilly is not a good pitcher. And how is he a better option than Gil Meche? Since when is a 4.31 ERA, 15-13 "not a good pitcher"? Pitching many games against the boston and new york line-ups mind you as well. Move him into the NL Central and it's easy to see why he is a good option. 5 of 7 starts in 06 vs Bos/NYY he let up 3 ER or less. Must be good to do well against those line-ups! Just bunking your contextualization that Lilly's #s should be better not having to pitch in the AL east. Then I counter good sir, not facing DH's in the NL!! HA HAAA!! Lilly is a pitcher with a high walk rate and flyball tendencies... you really want to bring that to Wrigley? How have all those other pitchers that fit the exact same profile worked out for us? Don't like that particularly. But beggers can't be choosers. Lily would be a positive boost to our SP staff and I'm all for it.

Must be good to do well against those line-ups! That also means he did worse against everyone else. Hey if he can pitch 3.0 vs. some teams and 5.0 against others. Pitching 170 innings of an era around 4.0. That is a GOOD pitcher.

  20. Come on dude, he's obviously babying his "golden" arm so that he can make a bunch of money when he's a FA. Because the more he's out and the more his "golden" arm is preserved, the more value he has. Just look around, his value has sky-rocketed the last couple years!!! What a crock. If he stays disabled for 3-4 more years he's going to make a bunch of money? It's much more likely that someone will offer him the Wade Miller/Scott Williamson contract of $1 million for 1 year. He sure doesn't want to get back to pitching great baseball for a few years and then hitting the $80 million over 5 years contract. The http://www.locateart.com/images_zoom/1381z.jpg would like to inform you, the post before you contained sarcasm.
  21. Neither. I never asked a question. :P That said... What pitchers would you want to acquire if the Cubs fail to get Schmidt...or Zito for that matter? Hmmm. Westbrook and Lily to be considered #3 and #4's. However I bet there is even a better pitcher out there via trade available, if you give up enough. And I wouldn't be suprised if JH gave up some good peices to land a high calibur guy. Probably someone we aren't even thinking of.
  22. Oh man I hope you're right. Zambrano? Schmidt? Hill? Westbrook? Miller (with prior on the background)? Pitchingasm.
  23. Bet on Thursday afternoon. Bets money and calls vegas. So you bet the money before calling Vegas? Thought I should explain. I have mild OCD. I sometimes type things backwards or in poor grammar, on purpose. "Calls vegas and bets life savings". See, I can do it.
