  1. I can't believe we're going to lose to this team. Oh, wait. Yes, I can.
  2. Horrible decision to kick the field goal. Our defense has been on the field for like an entire quarter straight. No way we'd have stopped them.
  3. PUT MORE THAN ONE GUY ON THEIR BEST PLAYER. OH MY GOD, WHY IS THIS SO HARD?
  4. This is why this team worried me. They may have no defense, but they can certainly score points, especially if we're going to play stupid football, and now we have to outscore them by 10 in the next 40-odd minutes.
  5. One of the worst throws I have ever seen, ever.
  6. The last 50 seconds are why assuming blowouts in NFL playoff games is absolutely stupid.
  7. Simmons mentioned that idea on his podcast this week and I thought it was incredible. I can just imagine all the mileage the media could get out of all the Cardinals talking about how pissed they were that the Giants chose to play them.
  8. I could've told you that Hightower was probably getting the ball on that play, but apparently the Carolina D didn't so much think so.
  9. Seriously....seeding in the NFL playoffs is weird. I would guess more often than not, a crappy team wins a bad division while a superior wild card team finishes with a better record, leaving the #1 seed playing a better team. yeah and it's not like you can really give the giants the option of choosing which team to play. no league does that and all that would do is piss off the cardinals. since each division is only 4 teams you're really prone to getting at least one lousy team in the playoffs and then they get a home game, so they've got a decent chance to win. personally i think that the top 6 teams should just get in and then you seed them by record. Which won't happen because it eliminates more teams from the playoffs earlier. $$$
  10. Julius Peppers laughs in the face of your feeble blocks.
  11. Ball State won their MAC opener today at Eastern Michigan. I wouldn't even be mentioning it except that the final was 46-42. Yeah, the MAC's not good.
  12. Boldin's out tonight. That'll help.
  13. Sorry, dew.
  14. Because almost all road games in every conference in America are out of state.
  15. 45 in a row at home, 20 of them Big East, tying Pittsburgh's record for home league wins. 30 and 14 for Luke - he overcame a 4/16 start from the field. Next on the gauntlet is Big Monday at Louisville.
  16. I'm so relieved now that I know Florida football pays for the athletic program. We all know that is not true at all for other big-time programs nationwide. Playing eight home games a year is perfectly logical now.
  17. I just looked up and saw 19-14 to start the SECOND HALF of the Duke-FSU game. What?
  18. ND struggling a bit with Seton Hall and their hot shooting. Up two a couple minutes into the second half.
  19. This has little to do with anything, but I was listening to the Simmons podcast and he was talking with Ric Bucher and Marc Stein and someone brought up Kevin Durant, who Simmons loves. One of the other two guys said something along the lines of, if Durant's so good, shouldn't OKC be winning more despite his supporting cast? I believe he then mentioned MJ winning with little help his early years, and mentioned a couple names besides, one of whom was Dwyane Wade, whose team won FIFTEEN GAMES LAST SEASON. Maybe it's just residual bitterness from two Bulls/Heat playoff series, maybe I just have an irrational hatred for Wade, but it seems like he is and will be tremendously overrated historically, with people seemingly willing to brush aside his negatives.
  20. Everyone stole something from Jordan.
  21. I spent the better part of the last decade studying journalism (hence my not having a real job now), and the "it can't get any worse" libel defense is absolutely a valid one and would probably apply in this case.
  22. That should hopefully change once they get a chance to beat up on each other. But then again, they have a lot more gimmies (South Florida, DePaul) than the Big 10 has. Yeah, Rutgers (at least home games with Rutgers) and St. John's (who SHOULD be a layup for the good teams) also. That will help us a bit. Of course, we're stuck with UConn and Louisville as two-fers, though Louisville is not looking as imposing as they once did.
  23. UCLA lost to Texas. Well, I need to pay attention.
  24. I understand the spirit of the "7+ teams from the Big Ten could make the tourney" argument, but with eight Big East teams almost assuredly making it (nine are ranked right now), there are only so many at-large bids to go around. And Raisin, looks like we both want to beat each other that much more with our mutual Texas win going downhill.
  25. I knew Tulsa was a horrible matchup for us, but I thought we'd at least put some points up and lose. Oh, well.
