  1. Some major Buffalo schadenfreude for me today. I'm very irrationally bitter.
  2. I don't know what the hell it is with St. John's (they do this to us all the time), but when Luke Harangody puts up a 28/14, ND should win every time. This one's on the others. Especially Kyle McAlarney, whose tendency to completely disappear if he's not hitting 3's is really freaking annoying. He's a better player than to just be a complete nonfactor without threes. I don't think Notre Dame is remotely a top 10 team. Apart from a close win over Texas, they haven't done anything to show me they're any better than the 2006-07 team, let alone last year.
  3. I think Utah is a very good team and I never was that enamored with Bama. They were great at what they did, but I never got the impression that they were a team that a Utah-type team couldn't beat. If anything, this is much less surprising to me than Boise was. I picked Bama, but I certainly thought Utah could win.
  4. Utah for national champion
  5. I think the Eagles will win but I am leery of picking against the team with the best player on the field. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Minnesota won.
  6. Get me on board.
  7. Luke Harangody probably played the worst 26/16 game in the history of the world last night. He really wasn't all that good. ND can't play defense to save their lives and that's probably going to kill them against the better teams unless Ryan Ayers brings that kind of 3-point shooting every night.
  8. Good for NMSU. I joked back in October that Ty Willingham would be going to NMSU. Glad no I-A fan base has to deal with that anymore.
  9. Not a good page of posts for Purdue fans, here.

    NFL Week 17

Carolina wins and doesn't surrender the record...thank you John Kasay! 12-4, 2 seed, and a home playoff game for the 8-0 home team. There's much more to come. :D

    NFL Week 17

And Carolina picks up a fumbled kickoff and takes it in for a TD! 23-3! First-round bye is within smelling distance.

DeAngelo is over 100 yards again. He will break the single-season team record for rushing yards today. 16-3 Carolina.

    NFL Week 17

We're going to be missing both our DTs, so I'm not exactly doing cartwheels. I do NOT want to watch us play next weekend.

    NFL Week 17

The Giants wouldn't play the NFC North team unless they both made the NFC title game. The NFC North winner will be the #3 seed and the 3 seed will automatically play the 2 if they win in round 1.
  15. 2-6 now with my 29 and 28-point games (CMU and BYU) already missed. This is a Hindenburg-type bowl season so far for me.
  16. hawai'i has a God-awful secondary. i think that most high school teams could throw for at least 200 on them. No one seemed to be concerned with this when they picked against ND and made cracks that they'd lose by 30 anyway.
  17. No one watched last night? Too bad. That was a wonderful departure from what I spent the last month or so watching. It may be entirely meaningless, but so were all those bowl losses, and at least it won't get rammed down my throat every time I watch ND play anymore.
  18. Two wins now. :-D
  19. I am 1-5. What a disaster.

    NFL Week 17

Please don't gag the division away, Panthers.
  21. ND creams Savannah State 81-49. Luke with 23 and 13. I'm glad we're done with the parade of cupcakes - the next game is Big East play at DePaul on New Year's Eve (I expect the DePaul fans on here to call them a part of the parade of cupcakes, but they play us tough all the time, especially in Rosemont).
  22. Let me look at the tiebreaks. You must have the edge on us for some reason. Conference record. That's what it is. If we ended up tied, we'd be 7-5 in conference while you'd be 8-4 (we swept the AFC West, you lost to Denver). So we have to beat New Orleans or you have to miraculously lose to STL. If we lose and you win, you win the division and we're going to Arizona in round 1. On a totally unrelated note, I'm borderline suicidal. I still think the Panthers would win at the Cardinals, but in Arizona they can be pretty tough. We beat Arizona this year at home and last year on the road, but we should've lost both games. We can take them, and then the next week would be @NYG, which we probably will have to do to make it to Tampa anyway. I really want that bye, though. We haven't had one since 1996, and it'd be nice to have a stress-free round 1 weekend.

  25. The bad news is due to Atlanta's win Carolina did not clinch the division. The good news is that with Atlanta's win, Carolina gets the #2 seed even if they lose tonight, if they win the division next week. GO PANTHERS!!!
