  1. Are you worried that picking a QB high in the draft could look like a 1-game overreaction to an otherwise solid year from Delhomme? Granted the Panthers should have been looking at a QB this year anyway, but thanks to a 6 turnover playoff showing, draft a QB in the first 2 rounds and the pressure will be there from minicamp for Carolina to make a change. Could really screw up a team that I think has one of the brightest futures in the league. Delhomme's contract is up, and I'm guessing his demands would be more (years) than Carolina should even remotely consider giving him. This is their fault for not getting one last year to groom under Jake, anyway. Unless they really think Matt Moore is the guy in waiting, which would also be dumb.
  2. This could go either way, I think both teams will play very well. But I'll go with the Eagles. Too much defense.
  3. Ok, I said it last year and they didn't listen to me and it's turned out pretty well, but this time we REALLY need a freaking quarterback.
  4. I think Brady has 5. You are correct, sir. Four wins and a loss.
  5. Donovan McNabb is about to play in his 5th conference title game, which unless I'm much mistaken is more than any active quarterback, including Brett Favre (who's played in four to my recollection) and Peyton Manning (I believe three).
  6. I don't know a whole ton about ND recruiting but I don't know the name Marlon Pollard. I do know that expecting us to nab the top class this year would be foolish after we miraculously managed to do so last year at 3-9.
  7. I bet the three AFC teams are pissed that they have to play real playoff games next week while the Philly/Giants winner gets a bye. Or something like that
  8. And our running backs, because somehow I'm an idiot and skipped them.
  9. If we get rid of Gross I will be incensed. Him, Otah and Smith are the only offensive players that are musts to keep for me.
  10. The moment I started to believe, we got crushed. It's typical of my Panthers-fan life. We play both East divisions next year, Arizona and Minnesota as well as a tough South, so if we make the playoffs again next year I'd be pretty surprised.
  11. Actually Favre threw 6 INTs in the game against the Rams. That performance is the worst I have ever seen a QB look in the playoffs. Jake Delhomme looks at that as a challenge.
  12. I promise those of you that don't give a crap about Carolina (all of you), that's not the Delhomme that played all season. I honestly have no idea where this came from.
  13. Jake Delhomme is competitive as hell, so it might be a smart idea to have someone keep an eye on him for the next week or so just to make sure he doesn't off himself
  14. The Lions would beat whoever these morons are that put on Panthers uniforms. They would crush them.
  15. hahahahahahahahaha screw you idiots.
  16. I'm not sure to what degree I agree with him, though he's probably referring somewhat rightfully to the general opinion that Hansbrough and Stephen Curry are the generally agreed-upon two-man race. Blake Griffin Damn it, you're right. I knew I missed one.
  17. Good call to fair catch it at your own 12 with no one within 10 yards of you, Jones. Solid.
  18. I guess Mike Brey got a little prickly in the postgame press conference because he perceives Harangody as not getting adequate national player of the year consideration. I'm not sure to what degree I agree with him, though he's probably referring somewhat rightfully to the general opinion that Hansbrough and Stephen Curry are the generally agreed-upon two-man race.
  19. I really hope that if we're going to lose anyway that the Cardinals go ahead and score on their 1st possession of the 2nd half so I don't have to care anymore.
  20. now you sound like a real bear fan. I'm a Chicago sports fan, what can I say? Only my NFL team waited an extra couple of weeks before delivering me the gut punch. Good job waiting 12 seconds to call that timeout, Fox. He has horrible clock management.
  21. The only good news out of this is that any idea the Panthers had of signing Delhomme again is hopefully out the window. The bad news is that I knew this a year ago and apparently Carolina didn't because they didn't do anything to work on replacing him.
  22. Anything resembling a decent throw and that's a TD. Smith needs to be on the field for the next kick, whether it's a punt or more likely, the kickoff after Arizona scores again.
  23. It's not like Arizona is a terrible team. They played in a bad division, but this team obviously has explosive playmakers on offense and they are an extremely aggressive defense. Have you read this thread? I'm the only one who said the Cardinals had a chance and I was mocked for it. I'm just in awe of this ridiculous performance.
  24. Every time anyone thinks we're any good, we immediately screw it up. This game, the Giants game, the entire 2006 season, the 2005 NFC title game...every single time people actually start thinking we are good, we screw it up.
  25. I knew we were getting talked up too much. I just knew it. We need a miracle now.
