I'm not sure to what degree I agree with him, though he's probably referring somewhat rightfully to the general opinion that Hansbrough and Stephen Curry are the generally agreed-upon two-man race. Blake Griffin Damn it, you're right. I knew I missed one.
I guess Mike Brey got a little prickly in the postgame press conference because he perceives Harangody as not getting adequate national player of the year consideration. I'm not sure to what degree I agree with him, though he's probably referring somewhat rightfully to the general opinion that Hansbrough and Stephen Curry are the generally agreed-upon two-man race.
I really hope that if we're going to lose anyway that the Cardinals go ahead and score on their 1st possession of the 2nd half so I don't have to care anymore.
now you sound like a real bear fan. I'm a Chicago sports fan, what can I say? Only my NFL team waited an extra couple of weeks before delivering me the gut punch. Good job waiting 12 seconds to call that timeout, Fox. He has horrible clock management.
The only good news out of this is that any idea the Panthers had of signing Delhomme again is hopefully out the window. The bad news is that I knew this a year ago and apparently Carolina didn't because they didn't do anything to work on replacing him.
Anything resembling a decent throw and that's a TD. Smith needs to be on the field for the next kick, whether it's a punt or more likely, the kickoff after Arizona scores again.
It's not like Arizona is a terrible team. They played in a bad division, but this team obviously has explosive playmakers on offense and they are an extremely aggressive defense. Have you read this thread? I'm the only one who said the Cardinals had a chance and I was mocked for it. I'm just in awe of this ridiculous performance.
Every time anyone thinks we're any good, we immediately screw it up. This game, the Giants game, the entire 2006 season, the 2005 NFC title game...every single time people actually start thinking we are good, we screw it up.
This is why this team worried me. They may have no defense, but they can certainly score points, especially if we're going to play stupid football, and now we have to outscore them by 10 in the next 40-odd minutes.
Simmons mentioned that idea on his podcast this week and I thought it was incredible. I can just imagine all the mileage the media could get out of all the Cardinals talking about how pissed they were that the Giants chose to play them.
Seriously....seeding in the NFL playoffs is weird. I would guess more often than not, a crappy team wins a bad division while a superior wild card team finishes with a better record, leaving the #1 seed playing a better team. yeah and it's not like you can really give the giants the option of choosing which team to play. no league does that and all that would do is piss off the cardinals. since each division is only 4 teams you're really prone to getting at least one lousy team in the playoffs and then they get a home game, so they've got a decent chance to win. personally i think that the top 6 teams should just get in and then you seed them by record. Which won't happen because it eliminates more teams from the playoffs earlier. $$$
45 in a row at home, 20 of them Big East, tying Pittsburgh's record for home league wins. 30 and 14 for Luke - he overcame a 4/16 start from the field. Next on the gauntlet is Big Monday at Louisville.
