  1. There better not be a rematch, the media bitched a fit when it looked like tOSU and Michigan might have that happen, but since that was the Big Ten and everyone hates on it I guess everyone would be fine with two SEC teams playing again. If there's a rematch it'll be an LSU/Oregon rematch. BTW, since Ohio St got absolutely [expletive] obliterated in their no-rematch game, maybe we keep the complaints about the calls for no rematch to a minimum.
  2. Paterno should be gone, but it's befuddling to me that McQueary isn't if Paterno is.
  3. Just added that if what he was told is true, 'it will horrify the public' - not sure what more could do that at this point.
  4. The NFC North is dominating the NFC South head-to-head this season. In my opinion the NFC South is the second best division in the NFC behind the NFC North... By default. The AFC appears to be the superior conference this year, at least 2 of the NFC divisions are pretty bad. I don't think the South is that great either. NO is pretty good, but Carolina stinks, Tampa is schizophrenic and I'm not sure about Atlanta either.
  5. Haha, I think if I've proven anything posting here it's that I'm definitely not intelligent enough to go to Notre Dame.
  6. I guess he was trying to point out that your feelings about the Declan thing and PSU alums' feelings are different. Not particularly relevant, in my opinion, but I at least see what he was doing there.
  7. Packers/Giants won't happen, I read earlier today that Fox protected that one. Either of the others would be good choices especially since Detroit and Cincy haven't been SNF material recently.
  8. Yeah, I forgot to take into consideration that OU would have to beat #2 OSU for this scenario to be possible. But a loss at home against Texas Tech is much worse than a (road?) loss to Alabama. But I don't see a scenario where a 1-loss Arkansas would be ahead of a 1-loss Alabama. They'd be the SEC champ and have a better win than any of Alabama's wins (LSU). Yes, they lost to Bama, but those two factors should supersede that, one would think.
  9. Or LSU losing to Arkansas. No, Arkansas would just play for the title then (presuming Stanford and Okla St lost). That'd be a pretty open-and-shut case.
  10. Don't worry, with our snazzy new shamrock helmets for the game I'm sure he will more easily identify his targets.

  12. The intriguing question in my mind is, if Oregon and Alabama end up having the two best resumes for #2 in the nation, which rematch would voters choose? If there were any other 1-loss teams, or Boise was available, I'd hope they'd avoid either. That said, if there would have to be a rematch I'd rather see the one further removed from the original game (Oregon).
  13. A non-AQ school can qualify for the BCS without filling the usual qualifications for doing so if they finish ahead of one of the BCS AQ champs in the final standings. I think that's what you're thinking of. There is no scenario in which a BCS AQ champ does not go to a BCS game.
  14. In no way was it clear that that 2nd to last play was a TD. Ball comes down before the hands and they're never going to give that to the receiver.
  15. I don't think what Bettman did with the NHL's TV deal could be qualified as 'losing' an ESPN contract. The NHL chose to go to a place where they'd be the top dog. I think to them that's worth not being with ESPN.
  16. I was very happy when Alabama/LSU got moved to primetime because I figured I'd be able to watch it all. I had no inkling they'd put this ridiculous matchup in prime time, and a partially-national-network telecast at that.
  17. They're actually going out to Tuscaloosa. Shocking, I know. Thank God the Brent/Kirk game (KSU/Okla St, I assume) is within reasonable flying distance of Tuscaloosa.
  18. Last year Carolina had 53 crappy players on their team, this year they have a franchise QB but still have about 48-50 crappy players on the team. Finding new ways to lose every week and this is getting frustrating.

  20. I'm actually admiring the updated google analytics that give me a real-time view of page views as they're happening. Extremely cool. So I was refreshing the thread when I saw that post. There's also currently 41 other st louis fans browsing the thread right now. That makes sense. There's no reason for them to be out at a bar celebrating or anything... I hope if we ever win it all, none of us end up on anyone else's board. I'd wager the number of us face down in a ditch will be much higher.
  21. The UMFan rant earlier ITT about STL's 'assemblage' of their title team should be sig'd. Good stuff.
  22. He kicked a man in the balls for no reason in Giants spring training a few years back. Sound decent enough?
  23. I would say at least Freese is actually good, but I don't know if he's good or if he's just another minted-from-nowhere Cardinals star.
  24. I want to attend a Cubs playoff game and someday I need to attend an NHL game. I haven't been to an NFL game yet either, but I'm scheduled to knock that out when the Panthers play at Indy Thanksgiving weekend. I've already attended bowl games for ND (Sugar) and BSU (International) so those are checked off. I have little money and have no plans to have it anytime soon so my sports goals are fairly limited. Maybe down the line if I get to be reasonably well off I'll add more.
  25. He is more important but its not an apples to apples comparison. The Colts' offensive system made Manning more important than the Pats' does Brady.
