Like just about all of you I'm younger than Colon. At the other end I got Justin Upton, who played in South Bend for a year when I still lived there and they were a D-Backs affiliate. Foolishly I never went to see him play.

The pop-up Clark St. Sports store had an El Mago shirt and several jerseys when I was there 2 weeks ago. There may be more choices there or elsewhere by now.

Kirk Gibson just pointed out on the Tigers broadcast that Joe relinquished the DH by moving Zobrist to second and called it "such a Joe Maddon move" for some reason. -

Plus a Friday "just in case it rains" off day in freaking Texas, which makes no sense at all. Doubt we've ever had 2 scheduled Friday off days.

Not at all. He is a pitcher. Any day he is still breathing is pretty much a win, let alone providing value.

If he's taking Russell's ABs, good. If he's taking anyone else's ABs, it's probably still ok but less good. Also, even though it makes perfect sense, it's kind of funny that the week Darvish probably becomes toast and Quintana continues to look like ass (granted, less bad in his last start) and we seem to desperately need a 4th playoff starter that we go trade for another bat. -
He's quoting (or paraphrasing) Papa John. I think it's to discuss how ignorant I am being for asking if Fukudome faced additional difficulties beyond the stupid headbands and shirts (and man, would there have been a far different media climate surrounding that today, whereas 10 years ago it was mostly shrugged off, beyond Kosuke apparently publicly condemning the 'horry kow' shirt, which was hideous even at the time). FTR, it was an earnest question, I didn't know if I missed something else.
