    I've had that thought, which is strange because this is probably the worst team of the Maddon era. Sports are weird.

    It's so weird, Wilbon always points out deGrom is great, decries the Mets not scoring more runs for him, then in a roundabout way blames deGrom for that because of his W/L record. It's like he's so close to getting it but there's a mental block he can't get past.

    Granted, they added JD Martinez, so that's helped, but Boston 2017 to Boston 2018 would show that a hitting coach does matter that much.

    To be fair, our offseason might well have been the worst in history by a team that was trying to win. Milwaukee didn't have a high bar.
