  1. HR and another XBH every damn day
  2. Rain delays in AL Central parks usually work out OK, so this is fine
  3. Thanks for making sure we didn't horsefeathers up that chance, Junis
  4. The swings they're taking against this idiot are unbelievably bad
  5. I think you're overshooting by about 24.5% there.
  6. Yes, but I'm choosing to sit on that until we see what happens in October.
  7. I had a single seat to game 4 of the World Series and sat next to Paul Bako, Glendon and Wellemeyer. Was pretty cool to talk baseball with those guys while watching that horse horsefeathers game. OMG, Wellemeyer. I probably haven't thought of that guy in close to a decade. Good for him that he got WS tickets, though.
  8. It's just the Royals, so it wouldn't really matter much, but it would do a lot for the board's psyche if Hamels can be badass again tonight and preferably for more than 5 innings.
  9. This clown has nothing. Everything is a rocket
  10. He must still be stuck in baby-the-closer mode even though he doesn't need to baby Strop.
  11. Unless there are some extreme LH/RH splits in this particular spot, yanking Cishek for anyone besides CEJ, Strop or Morrow after only 12 pitches is never a good idea
  12. That was a spectacularly bad throw and now 4 runs may not win this thing
  13. The square is the rule book strike zone, but they use the actual calls made to determine whether a ball/strike call is 'wrong'.
  14. Umps probably cost us at least 2 runs with the Rizzo gaffe and that absurd strike 1. The CB/Angel Hernandez crew is always good for horsefeathering up at least 1 game beyond recognition.
  15. Far be it from me to complain about anything on that play, but I didn't see anyone call time. Too bad Rizzo doesn't get rewarded for a rare smart baserunning play.
  16. Why is this garbage ass team shutting us down
  17. Almora against a lefty can hit anywhere he wants. Heyward I'm less enthusiastic about against lefties, but the L/R balance makes it probably ok. Also, Erlin isn't lasting long because he isn't stretched out, so that's probably part of it.
  18. Edwin Jackson in 2014. 6-15, 6.33 ERA, -2.3 bWAR in 140.2 IP. Jesus H Christ I forgot how absolutely terrible Jackson was that year. Fun fact, I basically called Mike Minor's HR off Jackson from the bleachers that year ("if Minor's ever going to hit a HR, it'll be off Edwin" 2 pitches before he went deep).
  19. I voted no, but I think he has a real shot. The combined effect of the El Mago stuff and the narrative boost he'll probably get from the fact that Bryant and the rotation have been so disappointing (and yet we're still in first place) absolutely thrusts him into the conversation.
  20. We'd have like 13 runs in a normal size ballpark.
  21. Confirmation bias and all, but Hamels looks really good. Lots of swing and miss stuff, good control. The off speed stuff has been particularly good.
  22. This is hilarious, do it forever
  23. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that Javy is an actual magician
