    The ideal roster is the best player at each position, I don't care about where they fit in the order, I just want the best overall player at each position.

    Exactly. It's more than possible that Hendry set the market with the Eyre and Howry deals, but whether he did or not, the fact is that we are getting pretty decent value compared to what other teams have been paying for relievers.

    I thought LA came in with the 3/40 and said "Take it or leave it, right now, no going back to other teams"? Wasn't that why John Schuerholz got pissed off at LA? This is probably Ofman hearing a rumor and trying to make a story out of it.

    Apparently MHuber forgot. It seems that if some people here had their way, any Pac-10 team in the top 10 would get an automatic bid while ND would be Gator-bound unless they got to the national title game. Exaggeration I know, but ND is top-6 in the BCS, fulfilling the criteria for any non-BCS conference team to get an automatic bid. They did what they had to do, and that's the end of the discussion. Oregon got shafted, yes, but bitch about 8-4 Florida State getting in, not about 9-2 ND.

    No hard feelings, Trip J. I actually really liked Banks that year, I was just taking a dig at his NFL career, or lack thereof. :wink: Hopefully, this gives Quinn extra motivation to prove he belonged in NYC against the Buckeyes, not that he needed any more.

    He could probably be signed to a minor league contract even without taking up space on the 40 man roster if he isn't picked up by another team. I still want to get a priest just to make sure he stays away. Jose - The power of Christ compels you! Stay away from Wrigley Field!

    Kenny Rogers should probably be more careful around Detroit cameramen, since they're liable to be packing heat. :wink:

    Bradley is no idea acquisition. But Hendry passed on ideal long ago, and so far has settled for spare parts that don't help much. RF has always been the biggest hole on the team, and they need a bat out there, but they don't seem interested in the good ones. I'd be happy with somebody better than Bradley, I just don't see the Cubs getting those few guys that are out there. I want Bradley because we can get him for Patterson and a bucket of balls, and he is an on-base machine. And since we are pretty sure that all the Cubs' players can deal with black people, I think he'd be a good pickup.

    Um, if anything, this was his worst year in four years. Check out his ERAs since 02: 2002 2.83 2003 1.58 2004 3.42 2005 3.77 I'll shut up. :lol:

    I could see that happening. The guys on mlb radio were talking about Wilkerson probably on his way to another team. If such a move were made, Hendry would be beatified by this board. :D

    If God is a Cardinal fan why haven't we won a friggin' World Series in the last 23 years? :evil: Because the Cardinals can't spend 200 million dollars a year. :wink:
