  1. 34-14 I meant BCS results. Add the impending VT loss Sadly for the Tigers, there's a decent chance that they'll be passed up for the BCS bowl. It's now an LSU/O$U/Oregon derby for the 2nd at-large. I honestly don't know which one I'd give it to (between the Tigers and Buckeyes). VT's going to the Gator Bowl. They don't deserve a BCS berth by any means, sucking as bad as they did in their two biggest games.
  2. I'm not going into full-fledged panic until Dusty tells a presser any kind of BS about breaking Ronny in slowly. Then I'll run for my life.
  3. Comedy gold. Literally 20 minutes after we're told Furcal to the Cubs is done, we find out Furcal to the Dodgers is done.
  4. 27-3 FSU. Va Tech sucks.
  5. Well damn. This is no good. I'm surprised LA got him for less than 4 years. Sounds like a Ronny/Neifi "platoon" unless we make a trade :(
  6. Leads me to wonder if there's some drunk 21 year old in the Chicagoland area laughing his butt off reading this thread.
  7. So are the ticket takers, it doesn't mean they associate with each other as well. I'm sorry, I don't see Hendry discussing it with anyone execpt those directly involved with the signing (scouts, assistant GM, agent, the player, etc). I don't place Kasper in the inner circle. Just as odd would be Kasper breaking it before it happens, doesn't make sense at any angle. well- you guys can believe what you want but i have at least 1 other guy that actually set up a Q and A with Len on this board telling me I actually talked to him. BTW Len DID say 100% I'm going to eat soon and will be on early morning incase you all thought I ran off... Oh and if I'm wrong- I wont post on here ever again....And this beats the he/ll outta cubs boards You don't have to leave just for posting a rumor that doesn't come true...most of us have done it by now.
  8. I'm still pissed that Utah didn't play Auburn last year, on that note.
  9. Any bets on the spread for the FSU/PSU Orange Bowl? Any bets on how disappointed Truffle and Derwood are that their Nittany Lions are going to play a joke BCS team?
  10. I seriously doubt anyone in the organization wants Mabry starting in right. Another OF is coming, methinks. I once thought it would be silly to expect Hollandsworth to be a starter... Yes, but we pretty much knew that Holly was starting in the offseason. Mabry hasn't even been mentioned as a starter, and we certainly aren't giving him 1 million (less than half of Neifi's salary  ) to be our starter.

  12. That would be me. Len told me earlier tonight that he's "100%" sure that Furcal is coming to the Cubs and it may not be announced until Monday. He is expected to sign mid-day Sunday. He also said Pierre is more than likely on the way. Welcome to the board! I daresay it's the greatest first post in history :) Has Len, perchance, mentioned what we would give up in a Pierre trade?
  13. Is Virginia Tech even that good? They've now laid an egg in their two biggest games of the year.
  14. I like him b/c his first name is Trot. His full name is Trotman. Trot
  15. I'd have a tendency to believe AramisFan if he says he talked to Len over PM, actually. I believe it. Of course it helps that I was pretty sure Furcal was going to be a Cub anyway. I want to see on ESPN's bottom line: "Poster Aramis Fan on NorthSideBaseball.com reports that free agent SS Rafael Furcal will sign with Cubs"
  16. Ball State's season obviously ended with the injury to Peyton Stovall. The 64-53 loss to Butler today wasn't ever as close as the score indicated, as the closest we got to them after the early going was 10 points. Without Peyton we have no one who can shoot a long range jumper, making this team completely one-dimensional. Our remaining guards are way too tentative with the ball.
  17. Pistons 22, Bulls 5 in the 3rd quarter. So much for a winning streak.
  18. $100K isn't bad at all. That throwing the ball from the 5 yard line thing is the easiest money I've ever seen made. Apart from Neifi Perez of course.
  19. Va Tech looks mediocre right now. Assuming they manage to pull it out I'm definitely picking PSU in the Orange (not that I wasn't already).
  20. I'd probably make deal 1, might make deal 5, but I wouldn't even think of deals 2-4.
  21. Nixon is Plan Z Surely we can do better than him. I can so see Carry Muskat using that as a headline during one of Zambrano's starts in, like, July: Cubs turn to plan Z to keep slim playoff hopes alive It's pretty sad when NSBB posters can come up with more creative headlines than Muskat.
  22. Nixon is Plan Z Surely we can do better than him. What's wrong with Nixon? If a .366 OBP and .855 OPS aren't quality enough, you're shooting way too high. Nixon is a solid option for RF. That's exactly what I was thinking. After all these years of reading Bill "Sports Guy" Simmons gush about Nixon, I thought he was pretty good. I'd definitely live with him in right batting 5th or 6th.
  23. This is the first time I've gotten to see Bush play. He's ridiculous. I saw Bush's 500-yard all purpose game against Fresno and I was at the Stadium when he ripped ND for 156 yards. The guy is the most dangerous man with a football in his hands in college in at least 25 years.
  24. That's not Linda Cohn. I think it's Pam Oliver, but definitely not Linda. Ah, my mistake. I had it on for a second and thought I heard her voice, which then caused me to immediately change the channel. My thoughts exactly
  25. I don't see much of Jackson, but doesn't he do strictly west coast games? Musberger is beyond terrible, especially when he finds his special player to obsess every game. Chris Gamble was the worst. "Gamble's lining up in the slot! What could this mean?" "Gamble's covering a WR that Purdue doesn't normally throw to! Interesting turn of events." "Gamble's drinking lemon flavored Gatorade instead of his typical Grape! More bulletins as events warrant!" Jackson never has to travel west of Texas or something in his ABC deal. I have to deal with him once a year when ND plays their season ender at USC or at Stanford each season. Musburger is just plain terrible and I was pleasantly surprised when Brad Nessler did the ND/UM game this year instead of him (Nessler is my favorite current college announcer).
