No-lose situation for my Panthers. A Falcons loss eliminates a key contender for a playoff spot. A Bears loss coupled with a Bucs loss and a Panthers win over the Saints puts them back in the 2 seed slot despite their sleepwalk last week against Tampa. That said, go Falcons!

Best case yet. Guzman won't have value for much longer with his injury issues, Patterson has no value, Rich Hill is unlikely to make an impact with the Cubs anyway due to Hendry's love affair with Rusch, Williams has upside but he's tradeable, and Cedeno has potential but is worth giving up for Tejada. If that's really what's on the table, then I'd expect the deal done by the end of tomorrow. -

This whole trading Todd Walker thing is pissing me off more by the day. At present, Walker is at worst the 4th-best hitter on the team, and you could make the argument that he's better than Barrett making him the best hitter we've got besides Lee and Ramirez. Why on God's green earth are we so desperate to get rid of him??? -
Of all the winter sports in the Olympics, skiing, hockey and figure skating are the only sports unless there's one I'm forgetting.

The Downtown Athletic Club has just announced that Brady Quinn has been awarded the 2006 Heisman Trophy. *pumps fists* Gets rid of a Heisman AND a national title contender. Pfft, it's a battle for second place after Chase Daniel. Mo Drew disagrees. So does AD. Wow, I totally forgot he existed (and UCLA played OU!). He'd be my #1 candidate for now, ahead of Quinn. I forgot too. I agree, he has a very good chance. How does Oklahoma look for next year? Unless they have a QB a heck of a lot better than Rhett Bomar coming, or Bomar improves by leaps and bounds, Peterson is going to be eliminated from the race by default.

Googled it and yes, that was the spread. But a lot of people thought Oklahoma would win. I was the only one I know who thought USC would win easily.

I really hope he stays. I do think, however, that either way USC will lose at least 2 games next year, maybe more. I have no doubt their run will be over no later than Thanksgiving weekend of next year. :D I hope and pray that USC somehow stays unbeaten through that weekend of 2006. I want to break that streak so bad, which made the USC loss even more painful.

Except that Wilson is 9 years younger. Plus all the Lincoln Park Trixies at Wrigley will enjoy is flowing golden locks. :lol: Honestly, he would be a good pick up for the Cubs as long as Mabry subs for him about once a week. I think you're getting Wrigley confused with Cell One Ball Park... :D It's been my experience that Wrigley girls are hot in a sorority girl kind of way and CellOne girls are hot in a stripper kind of way. :lol: There should really be a separate thread to how hot Wrigley girls are. When my friends and I went up to Wrigley for the June 28-30 Brewers games there were at least two hot girls right near us in the bleachers for each of the three games. :D -
Sign Pierre to a new two or three-year deal, then if Pie is clearly ready to play in 07 then you can always shop Pierre and get a few prospects back or something.

Welcome Konan. I agree, expensive for a one-year rental, but if that one year results in Felix Pie not being destroyed like CPatt was by too much, too soon, then it could turn out to be well worth it in Pie's future production.

Z for Tejada/Gibbons/Bedard/Cabrera then maybe we can start talking. Z PLUS other people for Tejada? Give me a break. How scary of a thought is that? That thought keeps me hopeful of the Cubs' future. Prior/Z could be a fantastic tandem for the next decade-plus if the Cubs organization doesn't screw it up.
