  1. That sucked. IMO Brey is not the right coach for this team. ND is playing my school in two weeks so I will be at that game, and I hope they play well. I think Brey is a fine coach, but he doesn't have any talent on this team. Every player has an obvious flaw. Francis is maddeningly inconsistent, Quinn and Falls can't create their own shot, Kurz isn't big enough to be effective inside, etc. etc. I like Chris Quinn a lot but he and Francis can't win games by themselves. This Irish team has no depth. However Jay Bilas and Bill Raftery had nothing but good things to say about the freshmen, Ryan Ayers, Kyle McAlarney and Luke Zeller. There's reason to hope the team will be good in the next couple of years, just not this year.
  2. Keith Jackson is inarguably the worst football broadcaster ever. He's completely biased towards West Coast teams, which is just as bad as Musburger's obvious wish that he had gone to Michigan.
  3. Michigan beats ND 71-67. This team just isn't very good. Chris Quinn making a terrible decision by throwing up a floater rather than go to Torin, who has been dominant and had 22/11 today. We'll probably be 2-3 after Bama kills us on Wednesday. It's very much a rebuilding year for the Irish with all the freshmen playing big minutes. I wish our rebuilding years could be like UNC's, winning at Rupp.
  4. It's tied 27-27 at ND/Mich. Torin Francis is carrying the team with 13 points, because no one can shoot a 3-pointer.
  5. Michigan's looking like crap at the moment, which has benefitted ND. The Irish are up 19-18 but they aren't playing so well.
  6. What's your problem with their NBA coverage? I for one like that they show exclusively games involving Miami, San Antonio, Phoenix, Detroit, Denver, or the LA Lakers.
  7. you know what pisses me off? i was born in oklahoma, THIS IS CARDINAL COUNTRY FOR CHRISTS SAKE, WHY WAS I BORN INTO A CUB FAMILY? it could have been so easy if my parents were sox fans i'd be celebrating a world championship and probably trolling this board Lets pretend LOLOLOL SAMMY SOSO GOT CORK?!!!11one!! GET IT HE CORKED HIZ BAT! HEY WE WON THE WORLD F$@$%ING SERIES!!! NOW WHO'S THE BEST TEAM IN CHICAGO? LET'S BURN DOWN WRIGLEY!
  8. it would be nice if you would tell us why you think this would be such a bad decision. Because when you have the payroll flexibility that the Cubs do, something like this should be inexcuseable and totally unnecessary! If we can improve our team by trading him, why would that be inexcusable. I'd trade DLee for ARod, Pujols, M. Cabrera and probably Santana in a second, but since there's no way DLee could net any of those four players, I wouldn't trade him. That was my point on why I don't want to trade him.
  9. Hilarious. If you'd asked me to name one person in baseball most likely to make an ass of himself by going into wrestling, I would have said AJ Pierzynski. I just didn't think it would actually happen.
  10. I have nothing else to add really, but I hate Barry Bonds. He's been doing stupid crap his entire career, steroids is just another log on the fire.
  11. Weis had something like an eight-man rotation on the O-line this year, and I think that in addition to one starter, two backups will be back. I doubt the O-line will suffer that precipitous a drop. As for Stovall leaving, guess who isn't. Rhema McKnight, who's coming back for his extra year after losing this one due to a leg injury. Rhema may not have Stovall's pro tools but he's pretty darn close to as good as Maurice IMO. With Quinn/Walker/Samardzija/Rhema back next year, ND's offense would look to be loaded for 2006. You certainly aren't the first to say Quinn is a better pro prospect than Leinart, however. I've said for the last month or so that if you switch Leinart and Quinn, Leinart's Irish and Quinn's Trojans would probably still have the same record, but Quinn's USC team wouldn't have had near as many close calls as the real Trojans
  12. Obvious choice is Joe Morgan. Holtz is blatantly partisan towards ND, Morgan is blatantly partisan towards Bonds. You can't understand Lou because of his lisp, you can't understand Morgan because of his ludicrous statements. It's like they're one and the same.
  13. you know what pisses me off? i was born in oklahoma, THIS IS CARDINAL COUNTRY FOR CHRISTS SAKE, WHY WAS I BORN INTO A CUB FAMILY? it could have been so easy if my parents were sox fans i'd be celebrating a world championship and probably trolling this board If my best friend hadn't converted me from the Braves after I moved from SC to IN I wouldn't give a crap what the Cubs were doing, except that they were about to scoop up our starting shortstop. Even then I'd know that we were about to win our 15th straight division title by magically watching six different rookies burst onto the scene at once or something. Oh well...
  14. Well, obviously those deals would be enticing, but show me a team that will offer us all that for a guy with only one great year on his resume and I'll show you a team that's not liable to be sniffing the postseason.
  15. This is ridiculous. Are the Cards talking about trading Pujols? Are the Marlins talking about trading Cabrera? Are the Angels talking about trading Vlad? Why are we talking about trading our franchise player?
  16. The Bulls really like blowing 3rd quarter leads.
  17. Jayson Stark article Here's the Abreu blurb: For what it's worth, the Cubs aren't even mentioned as a possible destination. The article also states the Cubs won't be going after Soriano since arbitration is liable to pay him 10M next season.
  18. It's unimportant because USC isn't going to lose anyway.
  19. It's 56-51. Kind of amazing that we were up eight at the half with our leading scorer, Deng, having 12 points. But we've gotten used to that.
  20. That's completely ludicrous. Hendry would have given him at least 5 mil for 3 years.
  21. Was the next question something along the lines of: "But, Dusty, Corey Patterson was the single worst fundamental player on the team, and he came from the Cubs' farm system, what do you say to that?"
  22. Make this deal Jim, and I up the offseason grade from D+ to A-. Of all the teams to rob, I didn't think we'd get a shot at robbing LA.
  23. Not creative really. No more creative than the ND student section chanting "Small-wood!" for star NIU player Marcus Smallwood a couple of years ago at the Joyce. The genitalia jokes are always pretty easy to come by.
  24. Tell us how you really feel about Favre.... Give me a break, he's getting older yes, but he is still a very good QB. Kinda hard to have a decent year when you have noone to play with. You don't think his consecutive start streak is impressive? I agreed with you until you said his starts streak was impressive. The way this team is looking right now, there's no reason Brett shouldn't at least let Aaron Rodgers see a few series per game to see how he fits in with the offense.
