  1. Good move for Baltimore. Not too bad on the money for one of the more productive catchers in the majors.
  2. They're lucky no one else tried to swoop in behind their back and snatch him up. He had a very good year last year, be interesting to see if he can keep it going in 06.
  3. The reasons seem to be related to defense, but I'm not convinced. Either Walker did something to piss off Hendry or Jim is really just so stupid that he doesn't see that Walker is a very valuable player to have. My bet's on the former.
  4. That's ridiculous. The Cardinals would never have to deal with an issue like Pujols getting hurt in any way.
  5. What are you talking about? I definitely read the whole thing.
  6. You're kidding, right? We basically gave him money the last two years - plenty enough to live out the rest of his life.
  7. Ok, it's official. If this deal was made, the invisible Red Sox GM would have become the best GM of all time.
  8. Is anyone else a little excited that Hendry is slowly running out of players to make an excuse to trade Walker for?
  9. Best MS Paint job ever.
  10. Worse Jim Bowden move of the last 365 days: This or the Cristian Guzman contract?
  11. Probably not, but I hope so.
  12. I would have had Dusty choosing to pitch to Lowell over Harris in the NLCS. That might be the most underrated stupid move by a manager in the history of the major leagues. The Bartman gets roasted and yet a lot of the general public forgets about AGone and this stupid Dusty-ism...
  13. Wouldn't the Rangers have to unload Soriano first? I'd do that deal last week BTW.
  14. I'd like to applaud the title of this thread by the way...short and sweet "Macias DFA" brings so much happiness to so many people. :D Vance, can we get Rubby to come and sing a song in remembrance of Macias's Cubs tenure?
  15. Wow  Great trade for Toronto.
  16. This thread seems even happier than the Nomar-trade thread. Regardless... NO MORE GREMLIN!!!! So the big question now becomes: Who will Dusty get to pinch-hit in key situations???? :D :D :D
  17. It should have been Olson. Just because the rest of the UCLA team took two giant craps in two of their games and almost did it again a couple of more times shouldn't have diminished the fact that Olson had three freaking interceptions against 31 freaking TDs!!!! That's just ridiculous. And yet he's not even on ESPN's Heisman Watch page.
  18. I honestly have no idea who is going to win, but I picked USC by less than 7 just because it's very hard to pick against a team that's won 35 in a row, especially when you think back to the last highly anticipated 1 vs. 2 USC game in the national title match. But I doubt the punters for either team will be busy.
  19. Well said Triple B, but as much as I love being on this site (hell, look at my post count and I've only been here for two months, that ought to tell you something), I'll probably be out celebrating when the Cubs finally win it all. I'll be back at 7 am the morning after, hung over, after the site has crashed from the volume of posters, though. :D
  20. pictures plz Here you go. http://digamma.net/btfwiki/index.php/Jose_Lima's_wife Not all that obvious. The lady is really hot regardless.
  21. With what's happened to the Cardinals, and the Astros still making no significant offensive upgrades as of yet, I think we'd have a better than expected chance of contending with a Murton/Pierre/Floyd outfield. It's not a stretch to think that one of Murton or Cedeno will end up being a very good player for us in 06, so I'd like that team. has anything happened? They haven't improved, they've all gotten a year older, they might not get Sanders back, and all indications are that they're looking at Jacque Jones and Bret Boone. Should those rumors prove true, I'd give us a decent shot.
  22. I'm hesitant to do any deal that loses us one of our main rotation guys without netting us a big guy. Du/Childress I'd have to think about hard but it would be hard to get rid of Du.

  24. I agree with you re: Wilkerson. He's a good ballplayer but I'll take Pierre the sure thing over all-or-nothing Wilkerson. I wasn't aware of Welly for Bigbie rumors, but why we haven't jumped all over that deal is beyond me.
