Just horrific umpiring down the stretch. What a big win

Can anyone on this team play first base

Ump just called Heyward out on ball 5, what a break

Not worried, when have the Cubs ever lost to LA because they repeatedly failed to add to a 1 run lead?

Holy crap was that clutch pitching from Leiter

And now Dansby boots one. There's no way we're getting out of this

I thought the single was probably an out if no doubles defense wasn't on.

No bad seats at Wrigley unless you're behind a post, but I think I still like the 300s (were 400s at one point) the best dollar for dollar. Bleachers are always great though if you sit in the right spot.

I'll be quite pleased if CJ Stroud is the pick for Carolina, but I've had a man-crush on Bryce Young for some time so I'm titillated by the recent rumors that they will pick him. There's also a report from The Athletic's beat writer that Carolina and Houston have discussed a trade back to 2 (which could be related to the Young rumors), but it doesn't seem like those are serious talks at this point.

I'm a little surprised Happ took this over trying for a mini-megadeal in FA (and a lot surprised it was done in-season). Really nice move.

As tempting as it might be to get the full Sunday Ticket after Carolina drafts Quarterback X in a couple weeks, as a poor I'm already pushing it with RedZone ($12/mo add-on), and another $200+ for Sunday Ticket would be crazytown.

That gave me Javy vibes. Really nice win today.

Yan Gomes had better be every bit as good with pitchers as his reputation suggests because good hell this offense isn't gonna work

Beautiful swing, Cubs playing pepper out there

Well that called third on Nico was complete crap

There is a two-month free trial at the moment, so one could cash that in now and be good to watch both games. There will probably be another AppleTV game or two in the second half of the season, though, for whatever that's worth.

I think it was Ricketts that said this (which might actually be worse).

That was a likely outcome anyway. Even if Jed did everything as well as Theo did, which is obviously debatable, everything working out as it did with the guys Theo acquired in the tank years had to be like a 97+ percentile outcome even with it not ending very well.

I'm about out on the Bellinger signing
