  1. If the Rams start fading out of the playoff race there's no guarantee Kupp comes back this season. That alone would scare me off this one.
  2. I imagine Donovan's going to be taking the fall at some point, doubt he deserves it but that's how it goes.
  3. UVA cancels Saturday's game against Coastal Carolina in the wake of this week's shooting.
  4. Almost happened to me. I won by 1, thank goodness
  5. It's not because A&M stinks - the new ESPN/SEC deal gives ESPN the right to put one (cupcake) game a year for every conference team on ESPN+. Bama and Mississippi State also have their ESPN+ games this weekend, most of the league had them in September. What a horsefeathering stupid deal. Sick of this streaming crap. The other day I tried to put a Dayton game on tv for my wife (her alma mater) and it was streaming only. Xfinity’s espn app was broken and wouldn’t play the game, so I pulled it up on my phone and attempted to cast it to my tv and that wouldn’t work either. After 10 mins of trying I gave up and decided to watch something else. You probably know this already, but the B1G's new TV deals that start next year include a handful of football games and a lot of basketball games on Peacock. Michigan specifically isn't gonna be dealing with too much of that, but that's the world we're in now.
  6. Florida vs Vanderbilt is on the network proper at the same time. A&M is on the ESPN app, but if you get SEC Network you have access to it. I sit corrected. Jimbo has turned this program into an even bigger dumpster fire than I realized. I cannot remember the last time we had a game that wasn't televised. 9. It will be fascinating, if it comes to it, to see how the committee handles a 12-1 ACC champ versus 11-1 Ohio State/Michigan loser that everyone will know is better but has done nothing whatsoever to prove it largely because of what a crapshow the rest of the B1G is. Although it occurs to me that if the loser is OSU (and I'm getting increasingly confident it will be), the common opponent of Notre Dame might help vault them over the ACC champ.
  10. That news broke last week I believe. It was a straight-up deal for Urquidy and was actually vetoed by Dusty with concern that Willy wouldn't be happy in a time-sharing role and he would just be gunning for his own numbers. He actually said this stuff. To be fair to Dusty, ownership never approved the trade so it probably wouldn't have happened regardless of Dusty's opinion. I just loved that Dusty take. One of those takes where you know it's coming before you even see it.

    NFL Week 10

This thread posted solely to warn the public that if Tampa Bay loses to Seattle on Sunday my terrible team is right back to being a game out of first place and still owns the tiebreakers on all of the other three teams in the division
  12. Didn't really matter much as my entire offense somehow put up like 55 points. Brutal performance by literally everyone in the lineup. Drake scored 22 points on my bench and I lost by 7. Fantasy is dumb.
  13. Rizzo opted out.
  14. Sammy had 6 more bWAR in his career than McGriff (3 more fWAR), so at an absolute minimum if he's on this thing Sammy should be.

    NFL Week 9

He's still going to make the playoffs because he's in the worst division maybe ever. He must have used up every ounce of bad luck he'll ever have in his life when Bernard Pollard tore up his knee.

  17. According to Jeff Passan's article today, there was a deal in place to trade Contreras straight up for Jose Urquidy but the Astros owner refused to approve it and Dusty was against it on the grounds of Contreras was a free agent and would be gunning for his own numbers.

  19. I haven't had this problem all year but I don't really know who to bench between Jakobi Meyers, DJ Moore, Deon Jackson and Kenyan Drake. Only 2 can play and one has to be a WR. Right now I'm just rolling with Yahoo's projections and benching Meyers and Drake.
  20. I'm much too happy to be annoyed about this and wasn't even going to bring it up, but since Brian did himself:
  21. I thought they were cheating with their pitchers before the trash can crap even came out. And frankly as great as he is I'm still very skeptical that Justin Verlander is pitching the best baseball of his life at age 38 or whatever he is without any weird horsefeathers happening.
  22. OK, Kelly can beat Alabama as many times as he wants if ND destroys a top-5 team the same night each time it happens
  23. Clemson isn't very good and will likely lose before the ACC Championship game Notre Dame is a smaller underdog Saturday (+4) than they were in the 2020 version of this game despite a hilariously huge downgrade at the most important position since then, so it seems like Vegas doesn't think much of Clemson.
  24. Just looking at the rankings it seems like the committee doesn't think the B1G or the ACC are any good, so yeah the Michigan/Clemson thing seems odd given that context. I'm still confused by the Penn State thing given their best accomplishment so far was basically doing what Notre Dame did against Ohio State (hang in just long enough to get sat on in the end). But whatever, as usual this will all sort itself out and these weekly shows are dumb.
  25. I don't generally care what Brian Kelly does with his time these days but if he beats Alabama while ND is likely getting waxed by Clemson in large part because of the gaping horsefeathers hole in the QB room he was responsible for, the takes will be unbearable, so Roll Tide.
