    You beat me to this statement. Blogs are overdone and in 99.9% of the cases, worthless. Yeah but as Raisin pointed out this one is on the Houston Chronicle website and is written by the papers's Astros beat writer. I don't know about the rest of the journalists on this site but I know at my paper and throughout our entire corporation (and odds are pretty good you've read one of our papers/websites before) the standards for blog writing are pretty much the same as for a story you'd write for the print product or website.

    Preach it. I have no sympathy for people who use their illness to shield themselves from good natured ribbing. Cancer doesn't make you impervious to criticism; at least when I had it it didn't.

    Oh, Jeff Goldbach. I saw him play in high school (he was like 5 years ahead of me). The next time I saw him play was like 5 or 6 years later for the Evansville Otters in the Frontier League. Trust me it could have happened to a nicer guy.

    Why is it wrong to yell at an obscenely insubordinate employee? In front of everyone to the point where that person physically assaults you? There was nothing wrong with confronting him...but Wade crossed a line here too. There are disciplinary measures that can be taken for insubordination. What did he think yelling would accomplish? This sounds like something you'd say to a 4th grader. The guy is a well compensated employee who refused to follow instructions from his bosses. He didn't accidentally put the wrong paper in the copy machine. I'm just going to say it sounds like a poor management style. It obviously backfired on Wade, and now the players probably have even less respect for him than they did.

    I don't why he moaned about the horses and then he goes and gets the same ones 2 years later. They're two years older now. Thus, they are now better at baseball.

    Ya, they could dig up Hank Greenberg too and have Crawford and Baldelli carry him around like Weekend at Bernies. Nah... That wouldn't work. Baldelli would probably pull a hamstring trying to lug the body around.
