  1. Dolis was economical. Glad to see him pitching well early, gotta help the confidence.
  2. Shark battled today, without his best stuff. Certainly wish he didn't have that 5th inning, but he'll be fine. Would love to see him have a 6 or 7 inning game next time out, keeping it at 90ish pitches or so.
  3. I was just curious. I think both fit directly in to the approach of "sell higher than you bought for". Part of me thinks both could be here for a while, only if LaHair can play LF obviously. But both could enhance their value quite a bit this season.
  4. Javier Baez hit a 400 foot homer today and just like the first one, stood and admired it. The Angels bench told him to run the bases, he did, then got to home plate and yelled "I'll do whatever the [expletive] I want." I guess we may have an idea as to why he's nj ot in Peoria? Also, Marck Malave arrived at Fitch today and worked out at 3B, instead of C.
  5. Serious question for Kyle and TT: At what point during the season and what kind of numbers need to be put up, for either of you to acknowledge Stewart and LaHair as decent players?
  6. I would love to see Shark cruise thru the 4th and 5th, leave with under 100 pitches, and be in line for the W.
  7. Been a full day. My vote for the Texans is OLB Bobby Wagner.
  8. Both his mother and father were mudders.
  9. I want Boston to reach the 3. I'd rather face Indians in a playoff series.
  10. I didn't mean the Marlins. I was referencing a poster on PSD, named Marlin, who's broken quite a few stories. The guy on BCB does NOT have his rep, is what I was saying.
  11. If Garza IS the Garza we've had, then he is an ace. Nice article on Fangraphs today about this, by the way. I want him and another guy on his level. Don't care which is considered the 1 or 2 obviously. And if Garza is dealt, we had better be getting a couple of guys in return with his type of potential.
  12. I don't want this thing to go past July 2nd. It'll cost us even more cash to sign him at that point. Badler has no idea why it's taking so long, but guesses it'll be done before then. A poster on BCB that people respect says Soler will be here in May. That said, this guy is NOT a Marlin type guy from what I can tell. Just a guy who got some draft pick signings right last year. Could just be an educated guesser.
  13. Shefter thinks Nick Perry could drop out of the 1st round. On the other hand, Chandler Jones seems to be taking his place as a 1st rounder.
  14. Reggie Golden got hurt rounding 1st. No update yet on his condition yet.
  15. His scouting "eye" has nothing to do with anything. It's the fact he sees these guys play, has stats no one else does, and passes along some info he hears. It's info we would definitely never get otherwise. I don't care about his scout's view at all. But recaps from these games, stats, hearing who all shows up at Fitch, possible transactions before they're announced? Yeah, I think he's got some good stuff.
  16. I think Garza taking a 5 year extension may have passed. Cain just got 6/127. I know Garza hasn't been as good as Cain, but he could very well see close to that, if he wanted to test the market. Yeah, there's the risk of him staying healthy and pitching well, but he's hitting his prime, so I could see his thinking. Instead of 5/65, my guess is it'd take 6/100, at the very least. Hell, he may even be wanting a 7 year deal, for all we know. It'd be great to keep him, but I think 6/100ish is about the most I'd feel comfortable with.
  17. Like I said, I would want a stupid type of haul, in order to trade him. Toronto and Boston will be set up well as trade partners, if we go that route. Syndergaard, Marisnick, and Nicolino from Toronto. Barnes, Owens, Ranaudo, and one of Bogaerts, Swihart, or Cecchini from Boston. They say "no", extend him and be happy about it.
  18. All I know is if he looks like he's looked over his first two starts, we would receive a ridiculous haul for him. The down side, if there even is one, is a 5/65 type extension looks more like a 6/100 one, right about now. At this point, the only camp I'm in with Garza, is the "don't get hurt" one. Either possibility of keeping or trading him is fine.
  19. Thecubreporter.com. AZPhil is the writer. If you see something written from guys other than him, no need to pay attention. Look thru comment sections though, Phil sneaks in some stuff at times.
  20. Dunston Jr. went 2-2, including a 3B, with a walk and a sac as well. Vogelbach had a single and a walk. Candelario and Amaya both had singles. Baez didn't play today.
  21. We suck. But I really like what Sveum has done, to try and get as much as he can out of what he's got. Unlike Quade, we've found ourselves a manager.
  22. I'll guess you're trying to decide between Wilson and Miller. You gotta get Peyton a weapon or two and there's not a WR or TE with value at this spot.
  23. Yeah, I've noticed that too. Not going to get concerned until we're 100 at bats in or so. Same with Hernandez' slow start.
