    The Diamondbacks are supposedly going after Porcello now, which is just weird. How many averagish SP's do they need?

    Aren't they pretty much guaranteed to at least do some subtracting at this point? Also, isn't Hairston the Jeff Baker type? I don't think we'll lose anything off the projected 25 man roster. That's what I meant by subtraction. Yeah, we'll lose a Campana, Lendy Castillo, etc type(s). I think I read somewhere we were still looking for a RH backup IF, which is why I mentioned Baker.

    Gammons mentioned Delgado, Gilmartin, and Spruill. Which is slightly better than Mariners offer.......If Taijuan Walker wasn't included.

    Heyman has a new article that mentions us as one of 8 possible destinations for Bourn. The others are the Rangers, Mariners, Braves, Dodgers, Orioles, Rays, and Mets. He said we've got the agreement with Hairston, but it was evident we had interest, at least up to a certain point. I'm guessing he means monetarily, since ABTY has said Bourn turned down an offer from us. I think we're done adding (or subtracting) at this point. Maybe add a Jeff Baker type. Diaz is the last "bigger" addition I can see. However, if Soriano is dealt somehow, then I could see Bourn being revisited.

    Damn good deal. I think we're done adding now, unless we get one of the Cubans, who need minor league time anyway.

    I like the move a lot. Much better job this offseason than last in filling holes. This team could surprise us. Kyle, are we looking at 80ish wins now on paper?

    No clue how they're handling Concepcion at this point, since they DFA'd him. Somehow though, he's still getting his money.

    My guess is when Rehman mentioned it'd be a few days, he took into account the league offices were closed Monday. With no leaking of a trade, I'm feeling a Campana DFA on the horizon tomorrow.

    San Diego isn't likely to be a team that'd be in position to trade with us right now, at least not in that type of deal. Their 40 man is full, not even counting 2 guys they have on the suspended list. If anything, they're probably trying 2 for 1's themselves. As for Kelly, I like his control, plus he's a good athlete and throws pretty hard, although I think the velo has dropped a bit since his injury.

    If we're looking at a trade right now, its to create an open 40 man spot. Maybe more than one, if Hairston is a possibility. Which I think he is. If Lake or whoever is dealt, I'd expect it to be for pitching, thats not on the 40 man currently.

    Soler's entire bonus was finished up this month too. He got 3 mill in January. Concepcion and his 1.2 mill needs to be included as well.

    The dude at CCO said his sources(no clue if he has them or not) have told him Vogelbach has lost 40 pounds this offseason. If true, didn't he do the same last offseason? He may be 210 or so, if its true.

    He was saying if they offered Upton and more for Castro.(which is what ABTY alluded to). If the deal on the table was Upton and Skaggs for Castro, I'd have to seriously consider it. Honestly don't know whether I'd pull the trigger or not.

    Winter in Chicago is a good point. I was comparing it to what the Dodgers are doing this offseason. 100 mill versus 300 mill, but the winters are certainly different, to say the least.

    I do, too, but I hope he has adequate security. No Villanueva move announcement today, per Muskat. I tweeted Bruce there's not enough police inside facility to handle riot for Campana DFA announcement, he responded "you got it".

    I hope Theo announces Campana's been DFA'd sometime today.

    My ideal scenario is 2 college pitchers separate themselves this year and we get one of them. Take a C in the 2nd round, and follow it up with mixture of HS and college pitching in rounds 3-6.

    I doubt many think he pulled a prank at this point. I do think many think he's a lying sack of [expletive] though, for manipulating it into something that served him and his needs. Who acts this way with the love of their life?(forget that it was fake). Some of his ex-teammates have basically said he played it up. Personally, it's probably better in an NFL teams mind if he's just a liar. But instead, he's stupid and a liar.
