  1. Yeah, I just saw that. Would love to get him for Garza. Would also love to get Upton, with Garza being the lead piece and being able to hold onto Baez.
  2. Berkman to the Rangers is interesting. Shocked they gave him 11 mill guaranteed counting the buyout. Wonder if it takes them out on Upton or Bourn?
  3. Who is the other one you are referring to that is not Bourn? [expletive], got a phone call before I finished posting. Meant Upton.
  4. Good point. Edited.
  5. We're in good hands, even the hater would be hard pressed to dispute that. But, signing Bourn and trading for Upton, even if you deal Sori for prospects, puts us into contention immediately, in my mind.
  6. Evidently Hoyer mentioned we're considering a CFer on a deal close in length to Jackson's. Either one would be great to get, but I can't see why we can't get both.
  7. I think I'll be happy with any of McCoy, Clements, Carmichael, Dennison, or Arians. Pretty solid group.
  8. Only the "worldwide leader".......
  9. Re-signed Chapman and Putnam on minor league deals. Tons of bullpen depth not on 40 man. I'll guess that when Villanueva is added, Lendy Castillo gets DFA'd. He's had a bad winter season and we've got plenty of bullpen options, to where if someone actually claimed him, I doubt we care.
  10. Callis has our system 12th, slightly higher than the rest of the BA crew.
  11. If he's starting the year in Peoria I'm not surprised most people are writing him off as a Cubs prospect. Damn, I stared at that for a while before I understood it. Meant Kane County.
  12. Not that he's on my top 3, or even 4th, but a little surprised Blackburn has gotten zero play so far. Polished, low 90's, solid mix, good control. I think he's the guy that begins the year in Peoria's rotation, out of our youngsters and probably moves quicker. The lower perceived upside is hurting him, but mid rotation is nothing to sneeze at. Testament to how deep of a system we're watching at the beginning stage.
  13. Tough choices again. I went Watkins, Loux, and Cabrera. Think all 3 are up at some point this year. I really think Watkins has a long MLB career personally. I would put Cabrera over Loux IF he had a better track record of starting, but he doesn't currently. Hate leaving Wells off again, but he's probably 4th for me out of whats left. If he's healthy in 2013, he's the guy left at this point that could make the most impactful jump in status. If Peralta had been around, he'd have been my top pick left. I think we'll get him back personally.
  14. Close to a coin toss for me, but sticking with Amaya.
  15. Interviewing Pete Carmichael tomorrow.
  16. No talk of Gruden at all is a bit surprising to me. If we end up with Clements, McCoy, or Dennison, I'll be happy.
  17. I have no idea how this trade would possibly work. But man, if the Cubs can pull off Stanton, this would be a very fun season. My first reaction was Shark for Delgado and Teheran, flipping them to Miami, as part of the deal.
  18. ABTY mentioned we're trying to use Atlanta as a 3rd team.
  19. Rosenthal says a trade is extremely unlikely. Which probably winds up being our best case scenario. At any rate, it could very well mean next offseason has all 4 of Stanton, Upton, Price, and Felix on the market at the same time. with the horrible FA class, I can't imagine hoe high the price tags get.
  20. It's scary how well the Cards match up to make a Stanton deal. Better than the Rangers easily.
  21. Baez is nothing close to a lock. But, he is a top 20 prospect right now. His tools are flat-out ridiculous. With a good season in 2013, I'd lay even money on him being a top 5 prospect, heading into 2014.
  22. I agree, easily enough separation to where thats 18/19 in some order.
  23. I LOVE Stanton. But I'd draw the line prior to going that far.
