  1. More like: DUI early Thursday morning Buy illegal gun during the day on Thursday Kill McNair early Saturday Looks like after the DUI, McNair wanted to take a break or end it all. However she had second thoughts.
  2. Cops are putting the pieces together. http://www.tennessean.com/article/20090706/NEWS03/90706057/Three+of+Steve+McNair+s+wounds+from+a+distance++according+to+autopsy+results+
  3. Looks like McNair (puts sunglasses on) traded a gold digger........for a grave digger. YEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
  4. Having worked years ago at a downtown Chicago hotel bar where a number of teams stayed, she doesn't even look like she'd get a first glance at being "road beef". But then again I wouldn't call her a slump buster. You can't even imagine how gorgeous some of the jersey chasers are that I saw come through the place.
  5. That's a lot of money to throw at one player. But I guess I like the deal with the way it's structured. Plus its a clear the sign the 'Hawks think they can win it all in the near future and feel that Hossa will be a key to that. In addition he's been healthy and played a number of 80 to 82 game seasons.
  6. I've always heard that Pittsburgh is a nice place. I'd love to be able to swing a weekend in September to catch both a Pirates and a Steelers game.
  7. The whole of baseball is so tainted that either everyone from the 'roids era gets in: or nobody gets in. Anyone that says that Sammy should be in the HOF while Clemens, Bonds or McGwire shouldn't is a complete homer.
  8. And you'll wind up with a [expletive] location unless you keep it in the same footprint in which case you have to play elsewhere for a season or 2, and wind up with the same [expletive] clubhouse, the same obstructed views, the same [expletive] parking. So what do you want to do? Build a new ballpark in the middle of a field out in Naperville?
  9. You don't have to spend $800 million. St. Louis and Cincinnati built perfectly acceptable ballparks completely for $350 million or less. I'm just talking a foulpole to foulpole rebuild. No "Batters Eye" restaurant in dead center, no Ruth's Chris in the left field stands or a 150 foot by 300 foot super HD jumbotron. Then again you might be right with Chicago style government corruption and unions, you're doubling the true cost.
  10. I wouldn't be at all hurt if they rebuilt Wrigley between the foul poles. But I'm talking about a same footprint, small park and keep the obstructed view seats and support girders. Do it cheap like St. Louis and Cincinnati. We don't need to spend a billion + dollars to have marble floors and gold plated faucets like the Yankee Stadium III.
  11. I have to believe they are talking about not playing games during that period of time. With many teams already taking 4 days off for the ASB, it would not be hard for them to take 6 days. But not televising games that are actually played seems like a horrible option. Great. We'll end up with a World Series ending the same week as Thanksgiving.
  12. Are they talking about blacking out every single game or just the national (ESPN and Fox Network) stuff? Would there still be Comcast and Fox Sport regional games?
  13. Best point. There is nothing better than that feeling when walking out to the seating area.
  14. Watched Game 7 at a sports bar in hell (St. Louis) and the crowd totally cheering for the Penguins. The place was jam packed and went nuts when the game finished. You would have thought the Blues won. There were like two Redwings fans and they both slinked out to a chorus of boos. I thought they were booing Bettman. And in my book that's perfectly acceptable.
  15. Not very kind in their weekly baseball stadium review. http://deadspin.com/5288450/why-your-stadium-sucks-wrigley-field
  16. That would suck for the Kings. Hockey is not the sport for huge guys. He can't have much (if anything) left on the odometer. I guess it's good he stayed in the Pacific division and didn't go back to St. Louis (a big rumor down there). That way he stays out of the Central with his cheapshots and hits from behind.
  17. Everything will be completely forgiven when he throws a no-hitter in a few weeks.
  18. Jimmy Johns: a 14 on seven grain. Add cheese and mustard.
  19. The Cubs could win the World Series and ESPN would still lead SportsCenter off with a story about ARod having a hangnail. Their second story would then be a Peter Gammons report from Fenway.
  20. I don't think Indianapolis is big enough to support 3 major sports teams. Nice town: but it's already a Cubs haven.
  21. I'd be scared of what would happen if he ended up on the east coast.
  22. http://www.roflcat.com/images/cats/emo.jpg
  23. It's by far the cheapest of the new parks and it shows. Lots of exposed pipes and other cheap finishes. Busch III cost like $330 million while most new places are $550 to $650 million. Then you've got the New York ballparks at $900 million and $1.5 billion. I thought it sucked for a brand new park. Kansas City did a better job with their renovations. KC spent like the same amount just doing renovations.
  24. I agree: there is actually some funny stuff over there. But some internet meme should stay on the internet. This is about as bad as the Rickrolling parade float in last year's Macys Thanksgiving Parade. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Can_Has_Cheeseburger http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RickRoll
