  1. It's a fair bet that whoever in the Mariners marketing department came up with this is also known as "The Crazy Cat Lady"
  2. Yes, I guess if you count some of the home improvement shows on HGTV. My girlfriend records "Dress My Nest" with Tom from "Queer Eye" and I watch that. And occasionally I'll get sucked into "The Dog Whisperer". But the stupid stuff on Bravo and E makes me want to hurt people and destroy things.
  3. That's a very good deal. I've never done a rooftop: always assumed it was for Tad and Trixie who would sit there and text their friends the entire game. But I guess I should give it a shot. How is this place?
  4. Supposedly Lou was ticked about the players spending too much time in the casino connected to the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis and pulled them out after last night's game.
  5. Slightly OT: Supposedly they're looking at opening a John Barleycorn down in St. Louis by Busch Stadium. It would be nice if they did; could serve as a safe haven for Cubs fans when the team plays down there.
  6. New Orleans is not some magical location that isn't have blackout rules: MLB has them marked as a Houston/Texas market. http://www.bizofbaseball.com/images/MLB_Blackout_Map1000x733.gif
  7. Bingo. I was in Cincinnati a few years ago at a Reds/Braves game when someone on the Braves hit their first homerun into right field. I was close to the field and it was a small enough crowd that I could hear the 1st base coach yelling to the right fielder to ask for the ball back. It was cool to watch the fans throw the ball to the rightfielder, the fielder throw to 3rd base and the 3rd baseman toss it into the visitors dugout.
  8. http://www.indianheadnation.com Live chats for games too... mostly everyone there is a season ticket holder. Uncensored too... but no one gets out of control. It's blowing up fast... used to only have like 100 posts per day... now about 550 and increasing every day. Thanks cynosure. I agree Kyle: boards.chicagoblackhawks.com is kitten-punching bad.
  9. What a moran. http://www.voidspace.org.uk/gallery/silly/bob
  10. Turnabout is fair play. (I guess.) http://deadspin.com/5260078/midwesterners-sure-do-love-their-lawn-mowin-t+shirts http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/deadspin/2009/05/Picture_14_01.png
  11. I'm not trying to be rude: but will there ever be a point where you won't b*tch and moan about the date/time of the Blackhawk playoff games? Likely not, I take my Blackhawks seriously. Just be happy they're this far. If they wanted to play at 3am in Rockford: I'd be happy with it.
  12. I'm not trying to be rude: but will there ever be a point where you won't b*tch and moan and the date/time of the Blackhawk playoff games?
  13. Is it wrong if I go to church on Sunday and pray for this to stop? ](*,)
  14. And you don't have to pay 10% (or more) sales tax and $3/hour at a parking meter (like Chicago.) And attraction wise I'd say they're better than similar sized cities (Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Nashville) You just can't beat Chicago. The city's ok, it's the majority of the people that suck. What high school did you go to?!?!?! haha jk The biggest problem with St. Louis folk, other than the hoosiers, is their ridiculous inferiority complex about Chicago. You'll hear the uneducated doofs talk all the time about how Chicago sucks and this and that. They sound so stupid, but there is no arguing with them. I have a friend down in St. Louis who just went to his 10 year highschool reunion. He was amazed at the number of people from his class that ended up in Chicago. Out of his class he guessed that close to 10% had Chicago area addresses listed. I find that while most St. Louisans give me massive cr*p about the Cubs: they love the city of Chicago. If anything they complain about the same things we do: traffic, parking and the high cost of things.
  15. Didn't Babe Ruth break a window at a car dealership across from Sportsman's Park twice in one week versus the Browns?
  16. While we beat ourselves up: it must REALLY suck to be a Pirates fan.
  17. Correct, Cleveland is vastly superior to St. Louis. I disagree. They're almost exactly the same city. Except Cleveland's winters are from hell. Don't let a baseball rivalry cloud your judgement. It's remarkable how similar the two places are. As much as we may complain about the two Mayor Daleys with their big machine politics and greed: they saved Chicago from going down the same path to ruin many other cities went to. We got lucky. Then again, the current King Richard may just tax this city into oblivion.
  18. What? He isn't as bad as Manny: but he does have a bad habit of watching his home runs for too long. You mean like every other power hitter in baseball? True. Sammy Sosa's little hop out of the batters box never made me feel right. I always respected Scott Rolen. If he hit a home run he put his head down, got around the bases quickly and into the dugout as fast as possible.
  19. Like I said before: it's the fault of the stupid Cubs marketing department for rolling these "celebrities" up into the broadcast box for the cringe-worthy interviews and 7th inning stretch sing-alongs.
  20. What? He isn't as bad as Manny: but he does have a bad habit of watching his home runs for too long.
  21. Why does the call matter? The Phillies were handily winning 6-1 in the bottom of the 8th. My friend at the game said both teams pretty much packed it in after the scare and long delay.
  22. I think it would be fair to bet that wearing a lot of those t-shirts in the Wrigley area would involve some sort of loss of blood.
  23. Reno Wear?? Close. I wouldn't recommend people with a thin skin go to their website. http://www.rinawear.com/ From what my friend in St. Louis told me the Cardinals are not happy with them. Wearing a lot of the Rina Wear stuff will get you kicked out of the place without even being given the option to change. She said the ushers have a list and are ordered to boot people wearing the offending shirts.
  24. And that blame falls completely with the Cubs marketing department. Just look at Jeff Gordon at "Wrigley Stadium".
  25. There's some t-shirt shop in St. Louis that sells this sort of stuff along with other non-sports t-shirts that might be considered rude. I know I've walked past it when down there. I want to say the shop has also done stuff about Larussa's DUI and Josh Hancock's car crash that would be in poor taste. I'll email friends in St. Louis and see if I can get the name of the store.
