  1. Other game news: the Cardinals Rick Ankiel ran into wall hard and has been down for close to 10 minutes. Supposedly they still haven't moved him. (Friend texting from game.)
  2. MLB blackout map. http://www.bizofbaseball.com/images/MLB_Blackout_Map1000x733.gif
  3. No kidding. I'll pony up for MLB.tv eventually, but until then, the lack of WGN games is annoying. As soon as I move to New Orleans at the end of May I'll buy MLB.tv. I won't be subject to any blackouts :yahoo: \:D/ :D :good: I don't think that's the case. New Orleans has been marked by MLB as a Housto Astros and Texas Rangers market.
  4. Why not? Maybe Sammy left some stuff around.
  5. Ahh yes the infamous "No Tippin Khabibulin" Jordan and Pippen were notorious for never tipping. It's ridiculous Don't get me started on those two (and most of the Bulls). The no tipping and dine-n-dash bullcrud they often pulled was epic and legendary around the Chicago bar/restaurant industry.
  6. I'd imagine there's enough Chicago kids going to school up there that you'll find a place with the game on. More than enough. I'd swear there were more students from Chicago than Iowa. Is the Sports Column still there? If so they should have it. Plus there's also the Buffalo Wild Wings.
  7. if luongo comes off his mountain and lays an egg this could happen, dont see it happening though The 'Hawks need to rattle Luongo. From my understanding the Canucks were freaking out any time the Blues got even close to the goal or looked at Luongo funny. I'm not saying the 'Hawks should play dirty; just let him know we're there and block his views.
  8. The only person worse is Bobby Cox. That guy drives me nuts.
  9. Good reading from Canada. http://www.theprovince.com/sports/hockey/canucks-hockey/gloves+Round/1544337/story.html
  10. The only problem is that watching the TSN feed is that they'll be defenitely biased towards the Canucks.
  11. I just knew that since Vancouver is the last Canadian team in the playoffs that CBC would ask the NHL to schedule it so that the Canucks ended up playing Saturday on "Hockey Night in Canada".
  12. So what would have been your ideal schedule?
  13. Capitals win their series over the Rangers.
  14. I don't notice that prices are any higher than other places. The beers are cheaper at Wrigley, but it memory serves the cups are smaller. As for it being cramped, I agree. They definitely got every seat in there that they could. And no advertising possibility was ignored. Just like the old place, there are ads everywhere you look. I guess most places are that way now, it just seems like they take it to the extreme. The beer was 16oz which is either the same as Wrigley or smaller. For 7.75 thats crazy. But even the "hot dogs" and other food were pretty ridiculous. And worst of all they were those plastic bottles. (But they're 16oz just like the cans at Wrigley.) I know this belongs in rants: but those plastic beer bottle the most useless things in the history of man. The beer tastes weird and never gets as cold as a can.
  15. The new Yankee Stadium is about the worst. http://www.reuters.com/resources/r/?m=02&d=20090416&t=2&i=9733170&w=450&r=2009-04-16T235143Z_01_BTRE53F1HTG00_RTROPTP_0_BASEBALL That's why I'm rethinking my stance on a new Wrigley.
  16. Of course it was a Southern Illinois redneck, oh high and mighty one. One of the dudes kept complaining about the long drive back to DuQuoin and another was complaining about a Pinckneyville cop who hated him. Look the towns up on a map.
  17. Probably not until after tonights games. So you getting ready to hurt someone?
  18. Well that's good. Then I'm guessing they would prefer a Thursday start and would be less likely to complain about a lack of an extra day of rest. Yeah, I see no reason to not just start on Thursday. I don't think it's a disadvantage. Yep: keep the ball rolling.
  19. There's no such thing as a "small fries" at Five Guys. It's either large or a regular, and a regular order is still half the bag filled with fries. Prices must have gone up. I could get that same meal for about $6 back in State College I think it varies depending on the location. 1) It's called a regular, but it's still the smallest you can buy. 2) I've heard other people complain that the new markets for Five Guys are priced significantly more.
  20. That happens at most place when they go with a new building: got to pay for it somehow. I asked a vendor about the same thing. Apparently a bunch of them quit over the price increases along with the downsizing of the beers and lower commissions for them. He was guessing that in this economy there's plenty of people wanting jobs and the Cards management is squeezing the employees to bring in new/cheaper ones.
  21. Wikipedia makes it sounds like Wirtz and Reinsdorf both own the building but that's all I could find and it's kind of meaningless info. Yes, the Bulls and Blackhawks share ownership of the building. They may have agreements in place about who gets first dibs when, but there really isn't any conflict at this point. But Cynosure is contemplaiting physical violence* over the possible Hawks playoff schedule. (I know he's being sarcastic.) Like I said, I'm just glad the Hawks are continuing on. If they wanted to play at 3 in the morning, I'd get up and watch it.
  22. Wikipedia makes it sounds like Wirtz and Reinsdorf both own the building but that's all I could find and it's kind of meaningless info. I always assumed the Bulls were #1 since they get most of the Saturday nights and the Hawks seem to get stuck with the Friday and Sunday games for the weekend. Or maybe it's just which league sets the schedule first.
  23. I'm not basing this on anything concrete, but it would seem to me the team with home-ice and a week of rest would be most susceptible right away. So, I think the Blackhawks' best shot at this series would be to steal game 1 right away before Vancouver knows what hit them. Yes, get game 1 from them before they know what happened. Because IMHO Vancouver is the scariest team in the West. Their goalie is hot, the defensive core is huge and the entire team hits hard.
  24. What are you ticked off about? Aren't the Bulls the prime tennant at the United Center? Don't the Hawks (and the NHL) have to work around their playoff schedule? The bummer will be the games in Vancouver won't start until 9pm Chicago time. But I'll shut up as I'm just happy the Hawks are in the second round.
  25. So if the 'Hawks win and Ducks wins, round 2 will be: Detroit vs Anaheim Chicago vs Vancouver Is that correct?
