  1. Apparently Edmonds chewed out a couple of St. Louis sport people who tried to get an interview after Friday's game. From the Post in St. Louis. I wonder why he was so ticked? If I were him, I would have been happy to interview and shove it right in their face.
  2. I hope so. I'd love for the Cubs to rip apart the Cards bullpen all weekend.
  3. 590 or 1380? Aside from their idiotic statements to appease the masses here ("You know they're gonna choke! 1908!") it's pretty hard not to be complimentary to a team that is clearly the class of the National League thus far. 590 I think. I was flipping back and forth trying to find baseball talk. It was whichever was wasn't talking about if they'd rather live without TV or the internet. Usually when the Cubs are playing the Cards, the radio people (mind you, this is usually on 105.7) are talking about how Chicago women are whores and how they smell bad. No joke. So I was surprised to hear kind words. But those are the women that moved from a cruddy city like St. Louis (or Milwaukee) to a real city like Chicago. You can take the whore out of the dump, but you can't wash the smell off. They're usually the ones wearing the pink Cubs hats and jerseys. Real Chicago women wear Cubbie blue (and smell good). But the whores are more fun. There's good whores and bad whores. I assume they're talking about the bad ones.

  5. I'm sorry. Being a Cowboys fan is almost as bad as being a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
  6. The Manning brothers will be in every single commercial shown during football games this season.
  7. Has anyone received their Illini/Missouri game tickets for St. Louis? I just got mine last week.
  8. I guess we should be rooting for a 2-2 split for the series? It's tough but I guess that's the way to go.
  9. We threw around the gay jokes all the time when Edmonds played elsewhere and the admins never did anything about them. It would be very two-faced to start editing now that he wears Cubbie blue.
  10. Sent by a friend from St. Louis. Plus check out the pictures of the weight room and look for the huge 15 on the floor.
  11. This might be his third marriage IIRC.
  12. There, fixed. The wedding was in Missouri: not California.
  13. Supposedly he got married today in St. Louis; by a judge at the county courthouse. Plus his house down there is for sale. http://maris.rapmls.com/scripts/mgrqispi.dll?APPNAME=Gstl&PRGNAME=MLSLogin&ARGUMENT=DgTwQ8khuX%2BwnMjZ%2FZ3JUEZNu51hwqK7bqqzaHZU6qA%3D&KeyRid=1
  14. Maybe Lou knows something we dont. Or maybe it's the white flag special. who knows. I don't like that lineup. Hopefully Lou knows something we don't.
  15. Lowest strikeout rate in the majors, I think And takes a lot of pitches.
  16. Lots of Cubs fans at the game tonight. A ton of people must have made the trip down.
  17. Big wet sloppy kiss from ESPN. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3469110&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines
  18. Good, let the Astros tear themselves apart.
  19. "baseball people" probably = "tony larussa" How? The Cardinals haven't played here yet this season. I'd bet $100 on Ozzie.
  20. The performance of Ludwick, Schumaker and Miles notwithstanding the key point is they're not pitchers, barring any trades the St. Louis staff is going to be their undoing. The bullpen is currently 24 of 30 in ERA, we've seen some of it and its not good, the starters are 9 of 30 in ERA - with the likes of Looper, Lohse, Piniero and Mitchell Boggs (who is 2-0 despite issuing more BB's than K's along with more hits than IP and 3 HR's in 16.1 IP!) - do you really believe this group is going to keep this up? They made Jeff Weaver into a stud. They can and will keep it up. Considering Weaver's performances before and after his time with the Cardinals, Duncan should goto the HOF on that alone. I'm so glad Scott Boras (Weaver's agent) crashed and burned with that deal.
  21. It's amazing how many Cubs fans have pulled a John McCain and totally flip/flopped on Edmonds.
  22. It looked to me that the ump was in the wrong position to be able to see that the glove never made contact. Another opportunity for replay to get it right, where the ump simply only has so much information available to him (namely, line of sight) to make the correct call in the moment. And that one could very well have changed the standings. Just saying... Glad the injury wasn't more serious. I don't want instant replay for tags. Only for homeruns and that's it.
  23. Props to him holding onto the ball.
  24. 50 years from now when ESPN8 (the Ocho) is running some stupid countdown show about the greatest rounds of golf: Tiger's Saturday round at the US Open will be at the top of that list. I feel sorry for Lee Westwood as him and Tiger step up to the #1 tee. He'll look over, see Tiger wearing red on Sunday and go "Awwww friggin hell."
