  1. Hmm, roughly 3k more than Neifi. http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/nutkick.gif
  2. 1B - 184 games LF - 47 games RF - 246 games C - 40 games
  3. Do we really though? He was obviously the best choice in CF and LF for most of the year and still found himself riding the pine way too much. I'm not so confident that Dusty (especially with his apparent dislike for Hairston) will concede that Hairston deserves the nod on a regular basis over Neifi.
  4. That's what scares me the most about a deal like this. Acquiring Wilson to platoon with Jones is one thing. Opening up a spot for Neifi to get more AB's is another. Our offense sucks as it is, this move only makes it worse. Hendry needs to add a big bat if he is going to deal Walker. Edit: Hendry needs to add a REALLY, REALLY big bat if he deals Walker. Dammit, Jim, you're making Bob angry again.
  5. You certainly cannot be comparing Law's 293/358/412/770 to Moreland's 307/374/440/814, can you?
  6. Ah, let them have him. I guess World Series winners coming from Chicago, even if it is the Sox, is better than the Yankees winning.
  7. I challenge any and all of you to find a greater single-season performance than the magical one had by Keith Moreland in 1985. Do it.
  8. And did you know the old Phillies logo was actually a "P" with a baseball in the middle. Sorry, I couldn't resist. http://www.geocities.com/1980phillies/pictures/assorted/1980logo.jpg
  9. You may get more than you want. The Bears won in Tampa with Orton at QB. If we play Tampa, it will be in Chicago with Grossman at QB. I like our chances. The only way the Bears scored was b/c Simms fumbled on the 1. Don't kid yourself into thinking the Bears are great. They're better than Tampa. Ooohhh. FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
  10. The master plan actually started with Bonds and Bonilla.
  11. That's what the late Rick James said. He didn't even remember grinding his muddy boots all over Eddie Murphy's new white couch. Yeah, I remember grinding my feet on Eddie's couch
  12. I hate the Big 10 schedules the way they are now. Penn State would have traveled to Iowa City this year. That would have been fun.
  13. Not much to brag about there.
  14. You are biased. While a 3OT game is typically "exciting", I'm sure there are many other more accurate ways to describe it. The Sugar Bowl was exciting. This was a battle of futility. To me it was more of an excitement due to the anticipation of which team would screw up more. I'm sure it would be different if I was a fan of either team. Now that I think about it, when PSU finally made that FG I was extremely excited that I could finally go to bed.

  16. That's the only logical explanation possible. Not to hijack the thread, but with the lack of quality left-handed bats in the lineup, you'd think that would be a reason to keep Walker. And we have a winner!!!
  17. 53. Anna Benson says she will sleep with posters at NSBB if the Cubs win the WS. Who is she???? Ahem
  18. That's the only logical explanation possible.
  19. Can we get a "correspondent" at the Cubs convention? You know, get a feel for the mob? I was dangerously close to purchasing tickets until my wife informed me the cost would also include some very expensive jewelry. Long story short, I will not be there this year.
  20. Not that I really care for either player, but how does Jones have more upside than Wilson? They aren't even a year apart in age, and both strikeout a lot without high walk totals. Wilson has more power and, despite mediocre walk numbers, has shown an OBP that is less dependent on his batting average compared to Jones. Jones probably runs a little better at this stage and is the better defender. Hell, the biggest difference is that one bats left-handed and one bats right-handed. I don't think there's a big enough difference between the two to justify giving Jones a three-year deal for $5 million/yr when Wilson is signing a one-year deal for $4 million/yr. Isn't there also some major concerns about Preston Wilson's knee. If that's the case, then that explains why he only got a one-year deal. That said, I still don't think Jones' numbers justify a three-year deal. Wilson, with a bum knee, still put up better numbers than Jones last season. No thanks to his stats at RFK (203/277/350/627 in 123 AB's. Yuck.)
  21. Quad citites, huh? You should probably hate Illinois too then... :P
  22. I agree with you there. :D How? I could understand if they've been a thorn in the side of teams (other than Penn State and Purdue lately), but they have consistently sucked in the Big Ten for years. How can you hate them for that? I hate every Big Ten team because they keep kicking our asses in b-ball every season. Sure, we occasionally pull off an upset or 2 in the tournament, but we never do a damn thing throughout the regular season.
