  1. My DVR is TiVo, but I call her Betty. And Betty, when you call me, you can call me Al. Call me Al.
  2. I had the same thing done a couple of years ago, and I was good to go in about 3 weeks with minimal PT. He'll be alright, assuming they don't find anything else.
  3. Hendry privately thought winterball may help Corey's trade value, IMO.
  4. If it's straight-up for Pedroia, I will move to Boston and buy season tickets for Red Sox games so I could laugh at their entire organization in person 81 times a year.
  5. Len, Thank you so much for answering our questions. The first question is one that my buddy the Cards fan and I argued about last July. I'd like a 2nd opinion. The 2nd question is a serious one (believe it or not, I have always wanted to know). 1. Who would win in this tag-team wrestling match: Barrett & Aramis vs. Pujols and Rolen? 2. When the team you are being paid to call on a daily basis goes through a horrible streak where absolutely nothing goes right and they look like little leaguers, exactly how hard is it to not scream "YOU SUCK" into the microphone?
  6. So they look like "Million Dollar Babies"? http://www.ocolly.com/issues/2005_Summer/071305/pix/mdb.jpg
  7. Hmm, maybe we should have sucked last year...
  8. We need to bring that "die plz" emoticon back.... :P Honestly though, say something like that again and i'll cyber break cyber kneecaps  How 'bout I give myself one of these -- http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/nutkick.gif Good enough?
  9. Not really. Nothing too impressive, anyway. 279/328/401/729
  10. Well, they're inheriting the players from a DJaxx team that steamrolled through the regular season. Minus a few big pieces (Murton, Nolasco, Pinto, and I'm sure a couple others). I hope the Iowa team is exciting and good -- it's a fabulous place to watch a game, and I take advantage of it every chance I get. Can't wait to finally see Pie.
  11. Wait a minute -- with Koskie, Weeks, Hardy, etc., any chance Bill Hall becomes available?
  12. I didn't read it either, but I'll guess 4th outfielder. Right, I completely spaced off that he used to play a lot of LF too...
  13. Most of the baseball "experts" at ESPN picked Kerry to win the Cy Young in '04. I'm just sayin...
  14. How 'bout Nolasco or Mitre? Anywho, with all I've heard about Von Joshua, wouldn't it make more sense from an organizational standpoint to leave him in a league where your prospects are going to be developing? Pie or not, I think I would prefer to have him stay at West Tenn. Then again, the Iowa roster doesn't project to be that fantastic, so maybe they figure they can use all the help they can get.
  15. Pardon me if the article covers it (I just don't feel like reading much right now), but what is to become of that Russell Branyan character?
  16. We do talk with Bruce on a regular basis about his participation here as a guest and as a fellow poster. He is going to do a scheduled chat / Q&A session here before spring training; there will be plenty of notice as to when that will be and there will be a thread set up for people to post their questions. So - yes - there will be a formal mechanism for questions for him (and a few others) once we nail down the schedule. He's also going to continue to participate here as a poster -- unscheduled, informal, etc. If calling-out threads become more of a problem, we'll ask for everyone's cooperation in ceasing and desisting ... and we may end up moving and locking some of them. So - also - we are going to allow him to continue to participate informally. Everyone has very well-intentioned and good suggestions, and maybe things will change down the line. For now, that's how it will work. It's great having him here sharing his perspective, and we'd like to ensure that he continues to enjoy being here as well. :) Awesome, good to know! And no offense, Serena, but Bruce is my favorite poster here. :D
  17. I'm still not sold on "Dusty and Neifi sitting in a tree". I think Dusty knows that Ronny is the best option, and Ronny will get the bulk of the playing time next year barring a major collapse. I think part of the "problem" last year was the fact that Ronny's offense really did come out of nowhere. Like I said, I think Dusty knows that, it's just too darn bad he didn't believe it back then. I guess all I'm saying is, I'll believe Neifi starts over Ronny when I actually see it.
  18. I think that if they traded the pick they could get a deal similar to that, probably even better since Bush, Lienart, and Young have been hyped a lot more than Eli was. I think they could probably do much better. Any team that is extremely desperate for a RB is salivating over getting someone like Bush, and anyone desperate for a QB will have to pick before the Saints. Unlike Corso and Herbie, I don't think there will be more than 1 QB in the first 5 or so. I think you'll see 5 of these go first: Bush, Leinart, Hawk, Ferguson (Virginia), Mario Williams, DeAngelo Williams, Ngata. Call me a homer, but I think Chad Greenway could sneak into the top 5 with a good combine.
  19. Thanks, I was too lazy to look that up. I actually knew the others (Hawkeye/Falcons thing, I guess).
  20. 2001 - 5th pick (Tomlinson), a 2nd round pick (Reche Caldwell), and Tim Dwight (worked out pretty darn well, I think) 2004 - 4th pick (Rivers), a 3rd round pick (Nate Kaeding), Giants' 1st and 5th rounders in 2005 (TBD, I think) Interesting note: both trades involved former Hawkeyes.
  21. Manny himself said, "I want out of Boston. I love it here, and I love Big Papi. I hate the Red Sox and need to go somewhere else. I could spend my entire career here. I want to go somewhere else in the AL where I am comfortable. I never want to leave this organization, it's what I know. Shampoo is better! I go on first and clean the hair! Conditioner is better! I make the hair silky and smooth!"
  22. So if the Marlins were to ask you to trade either Prior or Z for Cabrera you would trade Z? I'd trade Prior. I'd tell 'em to "shut it"...
  23. Kenny's had a pretty good off-season so far. I wouldn't completely dismiss anything he says (a la Phil Rogers)
