How about this for a questionable post... "Dusty Baker is a skilled field tactician!" Is it OK to call Cards fans nuts when they say things like this?
Exactly. Somethings got to give. They are supposedly holding out for Z in our offer, but this deal is based on mostly prospects? hmm. Maybe they're just angry with us because of how the Sosa deal worked out for them. :) We didn't exactly make out like kings...
This is a serious question. Is it a warning only when a mod is called nuts or when any poster is called nuts? You can only call Jeff Reardon nuts. I had to re-read that -- I thought this thread got a little to perverted for my liking...
I'd actually go a little lower (C-/D+) considering part of his job was to also be a leader. His antics with Orton brought him down a notch or two in my book. He had a chance to redeem himself Sunday when he finally had his QB for a full game, and he dropped some balls. That said, with Grossman for the entire season, and I think Moose would have been around that A- or B+ area.
Different ways to end that question and still get a yes... - To have his 3-4-5 look something like Lee Jones Ramirez - To start Neifi at SS ahead of Ronny and bat him 1st or 2nd - To have Corey platoon with Murton because "the dude's fast" - To stick his hand in his snow blower's auger because his toothpick fell in it - To start urinating on his toothpicks because Moises says they'll be tougher
There's something very wrong with trying to get value for him now. He's under our control until 2008, why not keep him around until we absolutely have to get rid of him (assuming he has intentions of leaving)? That's a helluva lot of production from a dominating pitcher that we can be getting, plus his trade value is sure to increase over the next couple of years if he can prove he can stay healthy. It's simply idiotic to trade him now.
6/23/84 Ryne Sandberg: 5-6, 2HR, 7 RBI Box Score Poor Willie McGee. I can still hear them talking about him as the player of the game (cycle, 4-6, 6 RBI), and it will forever be known as "The Ryne Sandberg Game".
I loved watching Dale Murphy too, mostly because he was on some bad Braves teams, and we didn't have to worry about him burning us too often. Murph is another one in this list that is just on the short side of having the requisite numbers. Some were impressive, just not enough.
I can certainly understand their desire for something other than someone limited to 2B because of Brian Roberts, but how could you not want to acquire someone like Walker who puts up really good numbers for Neifi's salary??? If anything, they can trade him elsewhere for more pitching. http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/bonk.gif
