  1. When I hear "phun" and "Phil Rogers", for some reason a kidney punch comes to mind. http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/nutkick.gif
  2. Mark Teixeira 3b 4 years/$9.5M (2002-05) * $4.5M signing bonus (paid over 3 years) * 02:$0.25M, 03:$0.75M, 04:$1.5M, 05:$2.5M * drafted 2001 (1-5), signed major league contract 8/01 * agent: Scott Boras * ML service: 2.000 He's about to get pretty darn expensive.
  3. You can call it homerism if you like, but I say heck yes.
  4. I too have grown sick and tired of the apparent "Cardinals luck" that has seemed to happen over the past couple of years, but I have so much faith in the suckiness of Juan Encarnacion that if he gets that 850, I will personally implode the new Busch Stadium.
  5. I'll admit it, I have a big-ass American SUV.
  6. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051223&content_id=1287055&vkey=hotstove2005&fext=.jsp Prior, CP, and Hill for Manny and Clement? If CP, Hill, Cedeno, Pie, and Williams would get Manny and Dustin Pedroia, I could live with Neifi at SS for a season and pay all of Manny's contract.
  7. The link you had What the??? Hendry: I will not trade Prior. OK, maybe I'll ... oh what the hell, let's get rid of him. Angelos: No Miggy without Mark. Um, how 'bout Prior and Hill? I don't want Prior.
  8. Mark Prior
  9. I find it more amazing that he's only 33. I could have sworn he looked at least 40 the last time I saw him. 30 HR in 349 ABs is pretty darn impressive, though. I guess he liked what he saw of BOB last year (19 in 167).
  10. I would like to change my vote. I had voted for the Astros, but I want to change it to the Cobs. Not only have they given me chest pains, but I also have lost my will to even go to any I-Cobs games this year. Christ, the Angels have a low-A team in Cedar Rapids I could check out, I guess. Man, I hope the beer is cheap. Go halos? http://forums.gigantour.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
  11. Except for the fact that anyone close to the situation has said his NTC is exactly that -- a NO trade clause. Period.
  12. He probably should have taken that extra money from Colorado. We're seeing that GM's are still oblivious to the fact that Coors pads stats, and he probably would have made a lot more next year.
  13. That may very well be true, but that is not what this club needs. We already have a shortage of MLB-ready (or proven) starting pitching with Wood on the shelf and Maddux on his way out. Cedeno, by the way, still looks to be the everyday SS when the season starts if we do not acquire Tejada. I'd much rather have Prior+Cedeno than Bedard+Tejada.
  14. Just wait until you see what I've already written for Tree at the Peoria Caravan. It'll be even better if this trade goes down. Ooh, ooh, ooh! I wanna see.
  15. oh jeez, dealbreaker. this deal is dead, now. please let it be dead. At the rate Hendry's been going, it'll end up being Prior+Hill+Zambrano for Tejada+Bedard.
  16. Draft pick by round 2000 - 1st - 7 overall 2001 - 2nd - 58 overall 2002 - 13th - 374 overall 2003 - 24th - 711 overall 2004 - 36th - 1089 overall I cannot find anything that says he signed.
  17. God what a scalping. We lose out horribly in that deal. Oh come on, we'd get rid of Patterson. Anything is worth that. "My tooth doesn't hurt nearly as much since you kicked me in the crotch"
  18. #1- Team stat. Who cares. #2- He won in a weak year because of those RBIs. Voters are morons. #3- Yes, but.... Is the difference between Tejada and Furcal worth Mark Prior? Certainly not. Remember, Tejada has never posted an OPS above .900. This is a good #5 hitter, that is all. And the last 2 years Tejada had a higher OBP than Furcal. I guess that means he would also be a better leadoff hitter.
  19. are you talking about his achilles injury? The elbow injury was simultaneous with the achilles injury. The elbow injury was speculation from a reporter in NJ. The achilles injury is what kept him off the mound. I think you have it backwards; the elbow issue was the real problem. And your source is???
  20. are you talking about his achilles injury? The elbow injury was simultaneous with the achilles injury. My recollection was that there was some "discomfort" in the elbow that was attributed to him making adjustments to alleviate pain from the achilles. I don't recall ever hearing about any actual elbow problems.
  21. Let's hope it's nothing more than that Ronny slept with Ryno's wife.
  22. I HIGHLY doubt that the only additional player it's going to take to get Hendry to throw in Pie is Jorge Julio. Hendry simply will not send Prior, Hill and Pie while only getting Tejada, Bedard and Julio in return. He's way too high on Hill and Pie to accept that. If Hendry trades Pie, Hill AND Prior....it's bye bye time. What if Manny AND Tejada were the result?
  23. Cubs send Prior to the White Sox, Hill and Patterson to the O's. O's send Tejada to the Cubs, Bedard to the White Sox, Markakis to the Red Sox. Red Sox send Manny to O's, b-level prospect to White Sox. White Sox send Garland and Prior to Cubs. Is that the 4-way they were talking about?
